252327 tn?1250183976 Hey everyone, are any of you on synthroid and on Tricor? If you have been reading my posts you will have seen that I have been having problems with shortness of breath and palputations, Thinking it was my synthroid I started adjusting my dose. Then I did have a slight problem with peanut allergies. After not eating peanuts, the breathing problems and palputations continued. Last night I looked up the side effects of tricor ( I started them mid December) by Christmas the problems started.
Avatar f tn s how it works in WI. IF he did have insurance through work he would be required to cover you if he could afford it. Since you are pregnant it might be different though, in WI the state HAS to cover a pregnant women if they cant afford insurance.
Avatar m tn Wow, I wasn't aware of Tricor causing elevation of blood sugar. Seems I need to research Tricor a bit more.
237039 tn?1264258057 I had always said no to statins in the past because I had infectious hepatitis (not any type C, caught it from my younger brother) as a child and feared I had liver damage from that. But when the doctor called after that test I decided I would try Tricor. (fenofibrate I think is what it is) I took it for a month, then stopped, then again a month later took it for a month. Then stopped again. My brother jumped all over me this year and is forcing me to take it.
Avatar f tn I am going to lose my health insurance soon. I was wondering if anyone knows of any government programs I can participate in in order to afford doctors appointments and delivery.
822804 tn?1298226302 Have they suggested taking a statin? My trigs are actually over 2100. I take Tricor to keep these down.
2073947 tn?1333731698 The good news is that Dr. Heffez's office has received my information/MRIs. The bad news is that he doesn't take my insurance (which I kind of figured). So, as of right now, I only seem to have one other option (Dr. Jamie Baisden) who I KNOW does accept my insurance. Anyone else have any ideas for a NS in the Milwaukee area?
Avatar n tn Its particularly worse combined with tricor. The pain actually feels like its in my bones at the joints. I have taken tricor for almost 20 years and I just started having this problem about 6-8 months ago. The pain in the morning makes me feel like I am 100 and my body is betraying me! This is what I noticed that changed. I initially started off on the brand name fenofibrate, Tricor - had no problems. Then they added Crestor(name brand) because that was the only people that made it.
Avatar m tn Help, looking for Doctor in Madison WI area that takes Aetna and is especially good with Hashimoto's.
Avatar f tn anyone else have the misfortune to not have health insurance?...I have not been tested (levels) for a couple years now, and I am curious...anyone know the cost of just a lab scan?... I am losing ground...hoping for better...and at this point...not sure if I care...(yes, I do...I have a teenage daughter) any ideas?
Avatar f tn My brother and I both have this and it is totally under control with meds for both of us. My triglycerides were over 2100 before I started taking Tricor. My brother takes Tricor and Lovastatin. Both of us now have normal readings.
1063386 tn?1287878569 I have to go to a local Dr for insurance coverage. But I am hoping that I can here back from the WI before then. My insurance will cover one out of network claim a year. So I had to be careful for now to make sure I got in to see some one in network.

Avatar n tn There is a very potent medicine in the drug class known as fenofibrates, named Tricor that was created to specifically reduce triglycerides. It works great, but carries the same warnings as statins. Also, Tricor should not be taken with statins but sometimes is in very extreme cases of total high cholesterol and triglycerides. My total cholesterol at the time was 486.
Avatar f tn Bouc in Beloit, WI and Dr. Ann Stanger in Fitchburg, WI. Has anyone seen either one of them? OR, does anyone have a recommendation for a doctor in South-Central, South-East, South-West, or Southern Wisconsin?
1602878 tn?1304336016 I would be willing to go anywhere in MN, WI, or IL. I see there is a Dr. in Minneapolis, but that in WI there is a clinic that specializes in chiari. Anyone out there have some history with these areas? Would appreciate your feedback. I hardly ever have head aches, except for a few times when I had CSF leaks in the past, so this constant everyday thing is taking its toll. It has also made my thinking foggy, and when I concentrate on something, the pain gets worse.
Avatar n tn In addition to that of course I have to take a statin and Tricor. Good news is that Tricor will have a generic out in May. I was also told by my pharmicist that Plavix has a generic coming out in July. Ask your pharmicist if there is a generic of Niaspan due out any time soon. And as Flycaster has stated, with the Niacin there is a flushing feeling also. It only bothered me if I didn't take an aspirin just before taking the niacin. My doctor told me about that.
745393 tn?1345077196 I have tried a lot of meds for this condition, have taken advicor, lipitor, crestor, zetia, tricor, provastatin, niaspan, gemfibronil. I have been on lovaza (omega 3,and 6 ) for the pass five months, but as you can see it has not helped very much. Heart doctor says I have taken the limit. All of these choles meds causes me to ache in my muscles very very bad, and dr. says this could be a serious situation. I need to know from someone please what can I take now ?. I need very bad to be on some med.
Avatar f tn If they were able to work with insurance, etc. I have no clue how or if I can possibly afford to go there, but at least I could get his opinion on my films I guess. Even if they will work with my insurance to cover the medical expenses, there's no way I can afford the travel, hotel, etc. Plus, I can't go alone. I have to have my hubby with me: he's my lifeline.
237039 tn?1264258057 Iliac is bocked again...............My trigs are still over 900 because I never got into the habit of taking my Tricor and Pravastatin. I need to take that every day along with Plavix. My doctor is amazed that I am still among the living and able to walk as much as I do since these MIs have been going on since 2004. Texas High Risk Pool Insurance and my meds are the only thing I work for these days. Picked up 3 meds last night at the tune of $400. Take care all, I be back soon.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if anyone knew a really good Endocronologist dealing with or specializing in Thyroid in the Madison, WI area? Preferrably within the Unity HMO? Any good Endo in the entire south central or SE part of WI would be welcome as well. Reason I ask is that my wife is Hypo, and we suspect at least one of not two of our 3 daughters are hypo. I also have many of the symptoms of Hypo but my TSH is 1.6 and I couldn't talk my Primary care Dr.
Avatar m tn org/forums/Crohns-Disease---Ulcerative-Colitis/show/178 I might suggest that you check with your state to see if what programs or benefits are available to you. In our state (WI) there is now some state insurance available to those that qualify and other benefits. I wish you the very best and hope you will find a solution. Please let us know how you are doing.
782988 tn?1242685985 Can you add Tricor That is on of my meds for Cholesterol
Avatar n tn You can google the warnings and side effects of that one. I also take Tricor for my hyperlipidemia. But that is a fenofibrate, not a statin. Have you ever tried the grandfather of statins, Lipitor? Talk to your doctor and get the straight answers.
537731 tn?1268265286 It appears that PA is similar to WI. A PM Clinic will not treat you long term for pain. They leave that to your PCP. I goggled "Pain Management Physicians in Pennsylvania" and found city by city directories. Do not goggle PA you have to input the entire name of your state. The Pain Management Clinic is an off-campus, outpatient department operated by Mount Nittany Medical Center treating more than 5,000 patients each year. Most of our patients qualify for insurance coverage.
