My husband has been suffering from chronic migranes for 2 years, he has taken all sorts of antidepression meds: celexa,zoloft,paxil, just to name a few. He was also given midrine and perscribed topamax but was so expensive we were unable to purchase it and after some of the things I've read about the eye problems I'm not sure if I want him to try it. He did have an MRI but there were no signs of tumors and such. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I recently jumped from about 25mg/50mg to 100mg a day of topamax. Since then, I have whan my doctor has says is tendonitis in both hands, wrist and middle arms. Strange I think. I have taken a strong anti-inflammatory, and then the steriod pack, heat, ice, etc, etc, rest, arms splints all that for 2 weeks. No change. Still top of hands, top of wrists looks swollen, hurts to bend wrists. Tingling (pins and needles) sensensation.

I have suffered from migraines since my late 20's. I am now 49. I have tried any and every migrained med, some work, some don't. My doctor has just suggested topamax. Has anyone taken this? Does it work? I am also hypothyroid and take 200mcg of synthroid, will there be issues taking these two meds together? I read that one of the side effects of topamax is weight loss. This I wouldnt mind as Ive put on weight due to my hypothyroid. But, the biggest thing would not have these headaches.
She takes Topamax for her Chiari, she takes Amitriptaline for IBS, which is also for anti depressant. I also ordered this female libido which is all natural, but contains Maca Root. I'm trying to understand if it's in her head, or is she really having a bad interaction. I was about to call 911 last night cuz I am concerned, but she didn't want me to. I hope and think that probably your symptoms are related to the Topamax also. The prescription description says that visual disturbances are common.
