Common Questions and Answers about Tobradex contact lenses

tobradex

Avatar f tn He said it is possible that I am developing intolerance to contact lenses. I have had GPC twice in the past (though not anytime recently). Is it possible that I may be destined to stop wearing contact lenses for good? Can some people immune systems simply continue to react to any/all lenses?
Avatar f tn Thank you very much dr. O and thank you very much Medhelp! Three days iv been applying tobradex with no change. I was telling myself to just live with it coz its not going away. Then I saw other forums here with similar eye prob as mine, some advised to do cold compresses... so last night i tried to apply cold compress and it was gone like magic!
Avatar f tn I am a contact lens wearer, and I continually getting eye infections, for about the past 2 years. (I've been wearing contacts for about 5 years.) My eyes get very red and become painful, and occasionally swell. I become very light-sensitive and my pupils constrict to the point where I can barely keep my eyes open. I have removed my lenses to see a mucus-like build up on several occasions. My doctor has prescribed me TobraDex in the past, which sometimes helps after a few days.
Avatar m tn Anyway, 6 or 7 surgeries later, anything from tarsal rotation, to electralysis and more fun stuff, we decided to stop pounding the heck out of my eyelids and now I just wear contact lenses to protect my corneas from the eyelashes. Kind of ironic :-) My question is, if my eyes aren't being scratched up anymore why do i still have the discharge? my eyelids are all red and cutup from me rubbing the crusty stuff off of them and i'd really like to get that to stop.
Avatar m tn What are the difference between ordinary lenses and hybrid contact lenses?
Avatar m tn I do not want to wear contact lenses constantly but was wondering whether you can get some contact lenses for a one-off use on a special occasion. This may seem silly but I really want to go to MCM London cosplaying but most characters don't wear glasses, so, like I said, I want to find out whether there is such thing as one-off contact lenses just so I have a wider choice. Sorry for the silly question and thanks for the time.
Avatar m tn eye dryness, solution incompatibility and toxicity, allergy, old lenses with protein buildup, etc. The exact problem will be determined by your doctor with a complete evaluation.
Avatar f tn Both lower lids become puffy, a little bit itchy, red, wrinkled and visibly dry. I went to ophthalmologist and was prescribed Tobradex (antibiotic/corticosteroid). This medication helped after I used it for a couple of weeks. I stopped using it, and everything was fine for a while, my lower eyelids were back to normal, without that awful wrinkles and puffiness and redness. But in about 10-14 days the problem started again. I again used Tobradex for about 3-4 days.
Avatar n tn I went to a pharmacy, the guy there gave me tobradex eye drops, i used it for 2 days only, my symptoms immediately disappeared in the second day, however i discontinued using the antibiotic course thinking that it was cleared forever. Now i am having every 2 or 3 weeks an episode of bacterial conjunctivitis, that lasts for 3 to 4 days than disappear, the reason for its reappearance is probably because i constantly rub my eyes.
Avatar m tn Hi all, I have a question about my contact lenses. I'll try to be as thorough as possible. I've been wearing monthly soft contact lenses for 7 years to correct myopia (-4.25 left, -3.75 right, slight astigmatism in the left eye). I'm 26 and male. Occasionally I neglected proper care by not washing my hands or wearing them beyond a month but that was the exception. Ordinarily I didn't wear them beyond the prescribed periods, nor did I sleep with them in.
Avatar f tn The power changes for the contact lenses will not help or hurt your eyes. The real question is which variation is most comfortable to you. Most patients do well with the lenses which best correct both eyes individually. However, if one has become used to better vision in one eye or the other, it can be an odd feeling to actually have the other eye "see better".
Avatar m tn I Use Contact Lenses Regularly. I have one Progressive (1.5 Years Validity) Lences Which i Purchased 2 years Before. Now I need 2 wear it for one day. But When i Bring it from Drawer its Completly get dried. then i filled solution in the lense case and in 1 day lence got ready as new one...... So Plz Advice me in this case Sould i wear that Lences Only for ONE day, because i want to give my currently using lences for quarterly service.
974413 tn?1248029417 I try to only wear my contact lenses as little as possible, maybe 6-8 hours a day or if I know I'm not going out at all, I'll skip wearing my contact lenses for the day and I make sure they get cleaned daily regardless of wearing them or not. Recently I gave my eyes a "break" for a couple of days, after the second day, I wore my contact lenses as usual and by the end of the day my eyes were red and watery almost as if they were infected.
Avatar n tn I recently went to the eye doctor and my prescription continues to get worse. Will it ever stop getting worse and stabilize? I wear contact lenses for astigmatism. Are there any brand of lenses which are better better for crisper vision and to possibly help to stabilize my prescription?
Avatar n tn hi. i wear dailies contact lenses only on special occasions. today i tried them on and i realized that i couldn't see very well far away, like reading signs because it was blurry. i made sure that i took proper steps and handled them with care but my vision was still blurry far away. i took them off and tried on my glasses and could see perfectly normal again. why would i see better with glasses then contacts. i have focus dailies with aquacomfort plus.
Avatar f tn Even though there might have been blood on the door knob and touched it and then put on my contact lenses, there is still no chance of infection if my friend would be infected. Again thank you.
1614413 tn?1298486475 Just recently learned I need corrective lenses. I am very interested in wearing contact lenses, however the Rx the doc gave me made my vision worse than not wearing corrective lenses at all. Wearing my new glasses improves my eyesight, but I would much prefer the contacts. I had no issues whatsoever putting contacts in, taking them out, nor did they bother me in the least, when they were in (other than blurry vision). Is there anything I can do so that I can wear contacts? Different Brand? GP?
Avatar f tn Contacts are very safe i would recommend getting them from a eye doctor to make sure your getting everthing coorect
Avatar f tn ) at the top of my corneas, possibly from years of wearing contact lenses. I did not not have contacts in at the time of this mishap.
Avatar n tn I think preferably before getting a contact lenses we should go through the prescription of the lenses. So i prefer you going through CContact Lenses Prescription first. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I’m a 22 year old male with brown eyes. I’m nearsighted and wear contact lenses. I wanted to try blue contact lenses and recently saw my optometrist. He gave me blue Freshlook contacts. These appear darker than real blue eyes and the underlying brown iris is still visible around the pupil. Is there any other brand of contact lenses that will completely cover the iris?
Avatar f tn Glasses or contact lenses would have the same effect on the exotropia. She is a little young for contact lenses. Is she being followed by a pediatric ophthalmologist? Dr. O.
Avatar n tn Dear lms18, I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD. Sometimes, contact lenses for astigmatism may not produce the quality of vision that you have in glasses as the contact lenses may rotate. Dr. Feldman Sandy T. Feldman, M.D., M.S.
Avatar m tn if someone wore your contact lenses whom had HIV and then after 1 week you wear the same contact lenses can you catch HIV
