Throwing up during tantrums

Common Questions and Answers about Throwing up during tantrums

throwing-up

Avatar m tn My five year old son started kindergarten in September with all new kids. Every night either at bedtime or in the middle of the night, he will throw a violent tantrum, sometimes lasting more than an hour. He will hit, kick, scream, and bite me (his mother). Almost like he is in a trance. There's no talking any sense to him when he is in the middle of one of these. I've given him snacks during the day to make sure his sugar level won't get low.
Avatar f tn sometimes shes playing, watching tv, finished eating, or has just woken up and we are heading downstairs so i can change her pull ups.

Avatar f tn the only reason i say random is because it could be during a story when we are snuggled up on the chair and he will get down and start throwing books and opening and closing door.
Avatar f tn My two year old has been throwing these crazy fits and doing thing out of the normal, like taking his bed a part and moves it all around in his room turns his table up side down clams on the self and takes everything off of it, claming on the counter to get knifes out of the cabinets hitting things with his toys and crying over things that he didn’t cry about before. I have taking toys away from him but that only makes these fits worst then they were before.

Avatar n tn I withdrew him from a previous daycare for biting. In the past week or so, he has been throwing a tantrum every morning before I take him to daycare and constantly asking on the weekends if he is going to "school". I dont know what has changed. The daycare workers insist that no incident has occurred. He is almost 3 years old and was progressing well in his potty-training but since all the tantrums started he refuses to use the potty at home.
Avatar f tn I have a 6 yr old little girl that has been having temper tantrums since she was 2 or 3. She has no issues in school and does not throw the tantrums in school or at other peoples houses. As she has gotten older her tantrums progressivley got worse. They got so bad recently that she was threatning to hurt herself so I sought out help from her peditrician. She kicks, screams, cries, blows her nose on her self and us, and goes after my 2 older children.
Avatar f tn Torri is acting out so aggressively it is really scaring us. She is throwing temper tantrums where she is hitting, biting, scratching and pulling out her own hair. How do I put a stop to this? She also doesnt go to sleep in a bed on her own, We have spent the last 3 weeks up all night basically, putting her back in her bed. She screams bloody murder, crying and begging us to let her sleep with us. How do we fix this?
Avatar n tn Since this behaviour has occurred in both school situations, it stands to reason that your're dealing with more than just an adjustment issue. "Throwing up" prior to school is a sign of anxiety - I'll bet there are other signs as stomach aches, difficulty sleeping at night, not mixing with the other children at school, perhaps toileting and eating issues and even frustrations and tantrums.
Avatar f tn However, over the last few months she is having tantrums that can last over an hour, which include hitting, kicking, throwing things and screaming. I have started using time out but each time I return to her after 5 minutes she continues to hit or kick me and does not want to listen to what I say. I ended up putting her to bed at 6.30pm tonight because I could not get her to calm down. Is there any other method I can try. I also want to try and understand her anger and frustration.
Avatar n tn She has just turned 7 and is constantly crying and throwing tantrums when she does not get her way. We have her about 90 % of the time and I would say about 75% of that time she is wonderful and we have a almost ‘mother/daughter’ relationship. We are as close as you can probably be and not be biologically related. However when the slightest thing goes awry, she gets teary eyed and starts to cry.
Avatar f tn Is she still napping? If she is then that's a good sign she is in need of one. If not, then I would suggest that you treat the behavior as if it isnot happening. I know it is difficult to ignore a child that is throwing a fit but speaking from the experience of being that child lol, I promise that is the most effective method.
5752933 tn?1383533437 I called my Dr and he said I might of popped a blood vessel in my throat from throwing up, but since I'm toxemic I have a chance for my blood platelet count to drop so if it keeps happening I need to go in
Avatar f tn We've been disciplining our daughter since day one. Not physical discipline. But manners, social, and behavioral discipline. She knows that everything is not all about her . & that crying gets her nothing or any kind of reaction except to her bedroom. She is about to be 2 & has never thrown a fit or tantrum since she was freshly 1 years old. & I'm sure it's because we started disciplining her very early so she never got a chance to get use to that.
Avatar n tn She has answers for everything my husband and I say and has been having bad tantrums. He tantrums have been especially bad in the mornings when she wakes up. She has been waking up between 4-5am every morning, and when she calls for one of us to come up and get her she screams at you repediatly. We try and walk away and alot of the times that makes it worse. We try talking to her to see why she is yelling and screaming and all we get back from her is "NO! LEAVE ME ALONE! over and over.
Avatar n tn s always had a temper, lately he is having temper tantrums, especially when we have to ask him to stop doing something he wants (ie. coming in from playing outside, when it's time to stop a game he likes etc...) His tantrums can go on for 5-10 minutes before he gets himself calmed down. He will throw himself to the floor, screaming/crying. If you try to pick him up he will lash out at us, hitting our face and tonight he pulled my hair.
Avatar f tn The Ritalin helps him be calm but he is constantly throwing temper tantrums at school. They are so bad I have to pick him up early almost everyday. Is there something else that I could do to help this issue?
Avatar n tn Hello, I'm a 26 year old male. I consider myself to be a moderate drinker. I work from 8 to 5 so a typical day I might have a couple glasses of wine (about 12-16 ounces) with dinner( I eat really healthy). On average, I might have a long island (for example) a few nights a week (on weekends & maybe one night a week). Today, Sunday, I had a mixed drink around 2 pm with maybe 2 ounces of Vodka with 6 ounces Orange Juice.
Avatar m tn tantrums and difficulty following directions. The tantrums are brief, usually last less than a minute, and I always thought are normal behavior so long as they don't persist. Now onto the second issue. We often have to repeat requests to our daughter and sometimes take whatever it is that's causing the problem away from her.
