The guaifenesin guide

Common Questions and Answers about The guaifenesin guide

Avatar f tn Basically in a nut shell salicylate acid blocks guaifenesin st the renal tubule level, so while it can still decongest, the use we use it for is rendered ineffective. The same receptors that guaifenesin needs to go in at the tubules is the same that salicylate acid parks in. This happens when you apply them directly to your skin because it is directly absorbed into your blood stream like any other topical medication, hence you need far less potency since your liver is not metabolizing it.
Avatar m tn It is effective with bacterial and viral infections, and some but not all fungal infections. The Flip-Turn is the original, and still the best Sinus Flush. WARNING! DISCLAIMER! The technique in this manual involves bending over in a hot shower. Obviously, if you bend over in a shower, there is a slight possibility that you can get dizzy and fall down. You could possibly hit your head, get knocked out, or break something.
Avatar n tn The day you are going to have sex, take a cough medicine that has 600mg GUAIFENESIN in it. This thins the mucus in your body so the little swimmers have an easier time swimming! I'd get the 12 hour tablets. You can use any brand, Mucinex, Robitussin, etc... as long as it only has that ingredient in it. You just don't want the other ingredients if you don't have a cold. Many women have said that they were sick and taking cough meds and got pregnant! Good luck!
Avatar n tn it sounds to me as though you may benefit from looking for a new Dr.. See if you can find someone who specialises in fibromyalgia. You don't say where you live, but you could try a search engine to see who is available in your area. Two books I have found helpful are "Fibromyalgia Up Close and Personal" by Mark Pellegrino, M.D. and "The Guaifenesin Guide" by Gregory K. Penniston, D.C. They are both in my local library, so try at your library to save money.
Avatar m tn Hi thanks for your reply . Have you read the book "fibromyalgia a survival guide" ? I have suffered recurrent bouts of bronchitis over the years and now I think there is a link to fibro . I am also struggling with horrendous post nasal drip . Doctor put me on cymbalta and it seems to be helping with depression and pain . Fibro can start after extreme periods of stress or traumatic life events like loosing a loved one , etc . For me depression/anxiety played a major role .
Avatar n tn The doc should weigh the meds against the condition of your liver, but generally, antibiotic use is a pretty normal occurrence during treatment. I've found no interactions with INF/Riba and Amoxicillin in any drug guide. Colloidal silver has been shown to kill bugs in a petri dish. It hasn't been demonstrated to be effective in the human body against infections. The current resurgence and hype of this stuff has sucked a lot of money from desperate people.
Avatar f tn Any expectorant that contains guaifenesin as the only active ingredient is fine to use. One should buy the plain kind with no letters after it. The only active ingredient is guaifenesin, and it contains 100 mg per teaspoon. It is very important to avoid the versions that contain decongestants as those may dry up cervical mucus.
429155 tn?1205676864 I went to my GP complaning of no sense of smell, saw a surgeon and surgery was recomended, I was given a prescription for Prednisone, a steroid, this gave me some sense of smell, and here's the but, I had the operation and still could not smell, so more Prednisone, well the upshot is that the steroids have caused my Osteo-Necrosis, this is when the heads of the long bones die, so have now had core decompression on one hip and the other totally replaced. Oxycontin.
Avatar n tn So you say you snorted the oc before they switched to op and you couldnt anymore and now you went to the percs does that mean u snort the percs to??
Avatar n tn Each year it has gotten worse. Over the course of the past 5 years I have seen multiple doctors across different specialites: Ears, Nose & Throat, Neurologist, Allergist, and my Intern. I have had MRI's and CT scans. This year has been the worst so far. I have already gotten 2 sinus infections. In February of this year I got a CT scan and the ENT doctor said I have a severe deviated septum with chronic sinusitis. I was treated for a sinus infection and that was it.
162948 tn?1205256292 Has anyone had the Mirena IUD and had it removed to ttc. I am just curious how long it took you to conceive after Mirena IUD removal? How long until your menstrual cylces were regular? I got my IUD out on Aug 5th and am ttc. I have had lots of spotting and maybe a period but nothing regular. I called my doc and they said that it takes 3 months before the hormones are out of your system. The mirena website makes it sound as though you can get pregnant anytime after removal.
