2016-I contracted a fungal infection in mid June. I think a ate a wet cake slice which had soaked in a water bowl for a day in my fridge.A week later the smallest toenail of my left leg was black/Green.This was on 9 June so I started flucanazole 150 mg once a week.It proved ineffective after 3 weeks as the Fungus had started to grow in my groin.Doubled the fluca and ate it twice a week.It was ineffective still.So I ate fluca 2 weeks straight (once every day).
Another thought is trying the Terbinafine spray on the outside (not in the vagina) just to see if it works for about a week or two and if it does then you know you have to get a internal type for the vagina too or anal area. Terbinafine (Lamisil) can be used for jock itch and the private areas so it should be okay.
You may have to use the Ketoconazole shampoo for a long time ( such as 6 weeks for it to work). Some fungi are resistant to it so you may want to try Terbinafine shampoo or pills. But I would read some of the posts below. They may be helpful.

I have seen my doctor about the rash, he said that its looks like a ringworm which is a fungal infection. So I have been going in and out of the doctor trying different medicines each month.
The medicines I have used are, Clotrimazole, Ketocnazole, Terbinafine and oral Terbinafine. The medicine didn’t work so I was sent to the hospital to the dermatology department, they took a scrape test to see if it is a fungal infection.

What you have read is correct.
The dermatologist prescribed me Ketoconazole, Triamcinolone and Terbinafine. Been using for a week and it is no better in fact it burns and itches more at night. Alone with this I was using some antifungal soap. Any ideas on what this might be? Is it Red Scrotum Syndrome caused from the hydrocortisone? This has been going on for 6 weeks now and it's no better.
Ive had 2 biopsy not cancer. Dr thinking fungus . I was on antibiotics and am currently taking Terbinafine 250mg and Ketoconazole 200mg pill and cream and wash . I recently had a tooth pulled and gum filled with puss. maybe that was hindering my healing. so frustrated and worried.
FYI, terbinafine is Lamisil cream. Terbinafine is the generic name. Otherwise, you will have to see a doctor.
my doctor perscribed me to terbinafine orals at 250mg once a day for 2 weeks. I have read that this does not work on versicolor is this true?
I have used terbinafine cream for a week and my fungal infection almost went away.but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
Immediately I started applying Lamisil (terbinafine) every morning till today. All the redness and everything else is gone, but if I look at the skin from the side, I can still see the "circles" (in slightly different skin tone) where the fungi was located... does it mean that I'll have to keep on applying the cream for longer till I don't see those circles?
All my symptoms point to Black Piedra and I was in Chennai India for 10 days but that was 2 years ago. No fungal treatment over the last 3 months is working. My head has been shaved for 2 months but the black crust keeps growing out covering the hair from inside the follicle. My husband and I going through the exact same thing. I was taking Terbinafine and my dosage was one pill a day for 7 days each quarter. So a week in Nov, Feb, Mar, and finished in Aug 2017. Then my blood work was in Oct 2017. He referred to a Dermatologist. Administred Terbinafine-500mg (10days) and Fexofenadine-120mg (7 days) continued applying Miconazole but had no relief. She further advised me to take Levofloaxacin 750mg for 5 days together with appky Terbinafine Cream. But still no relief. Infection resurface with spreading to more areas.
face, arms, back. My dermatologist gave me Lamisil cream with oral terbinafine during 2 weeks. My rash has almost disappeared. It came back 1 month after taking terbinafine. I have done a mycological examination 1 month after taking terbinafine but it was negative. Also, oral griseofulvin during 3 weeks didn't work. My rash was spreading all over my body (70%). The physicians sayed it was eczema. The gave me diprosone and oral cortisone.
The rash did go away for a little while but came back even before I had finished the full treatment of terbinafine (I did in fact go ahead and finish the full 10 days). I went back to the doctor for a follow up and she wanted to take a biopsy which may in fact leave a scar (which I really do not want). She also suggested that this may be a reaction from the use of the steroids. She gave me a metronidazole cream which is an antibiotic and Elidel which is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory.
