i had red, itchy, swell penis forehead last year & i gone to doctor and he tested me for HIV 1&2 antibodies, VDRL, HERPES simplex virus 1&2 IGG-IGM & TSH and all test came normal (negative). Then my doc told me that it is candidal balanoposthitis & he gave me fusidic acid cream with terbinafine cream and some tablets for infection & infection cured 70% but itching never gone.

Ive had this for about 3 months , now there are some on other leg and arms.Ive had 2 biopsy not cancer. Dr thinking fungus . I was on antibiotics and am currently taking Terbinafine 250mg and Ketoconazole 200mg pill and cream and wash . I recently had a tooth pulled and gum filled with puss. maybe that was hindering my healing. so frustrated and worried.
I have used terbinafine cream for a week and my fungal infection almost went away.but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
I had this white scaling on the penis glans going on for almost 3 weeks and not improving. I went to see a general practitioner and he said it is balanatis. He prescribed 2mg of Tinizadole which reading about I found it is NOT used for fungus problems. Do not know if I should go ahead and take it. He did nor presctibe anything else and said one dos will likely suffice...
my doctor perscribed me to terbinafine orals at 250mg once a day for 2 weeks. I have read that this does not work on versicolor is this true?
Both of these meds need to be taken for 3 months. The previous Rx was taken only once a month for 3 months. Any ideas what medicine this would have been?
Is there an over-th-counter medication for ringworm ? I can't get to my dermitologist before New Years and i would like to at least try to get rid on this ringworm.
FYI, terbinafine is Lamisil cream. Terbinafine is the generic name. Otherwise, you will have to see a doctor.
All my symptoms point to Black Piedra and I was in Chennai India for 10 days but that was 2 years ago. No fungal treatment over the last 3 months is working. My head has been shaved for 2 months but the black crust keeps growing out covering the hair from inside the follicle. When my hair was longer it felt like grains of sand but nothing would ever fall out.
I\m hoping the Terbinafine makes these completely disappear. Since this is a first ringworm experience for me, I have no Idea what they look like when they are in the process of healing :(. I almost feel depressed sometimes when I look at my skin, because I wonder if I will ever be back to normal.
I used the cream Lamisil on my face before reading the instructions. Lamisil has the ingredient Terbinafine hydrochloride which I thought I needed for a condition I have but before I read the warning I used it. It states not to use on or near the mouth. After use I saw my lips get very white and after a couple of days it seemed like the top thin layer of skin came off: painless. I know its my fault for not reading the box but now my lips get very dry. They turn to an off-white color.
So, I went on with her directions and took the terbinafine for 10 days and used the desonate for 14 days. The rash did go away for a little while but came back even before I had finished the full treatment of terbinafine (I did in fact go ahead and finish the full 10 days). I went back to the doctor for a follow up and she wanted to take a biopsy which may in fact leave a scar (which I really do not want). She also suggested that this may be a reaction from the use of the steroids.
face, arms, back. My dermatologist gave me Lamisil cream with oral terbinafine during 2 weeks. My rash has almost disappeared. It came back 1 month after taking terbinafine. I have done a mycological examination 1 month after taking terbinafine but it was negative. Also, oral griseofulvin during 3 weeks didn't work. My rash was spreading all over my body (70%). The physicians sayed it was eczema. The gave me diprosone and oral cortisone.
Then i tried itraconazole 200mg a day for a month as suggested by another friend. It cured my itch but again came back after 10 days . Then a dermatologist suggested me terbinafine and fluconazole, but it dint give much result. I tried ketoconazole soap and oitment also and it got worse. Then again I tried itraconazole 100mg twice for a month, i was cured within 10 days. But again this recurrent jock itch keeps on coming back.
You may have a yeast infection but it may be resistant strain to the medicines they have in the stores. See if they have one without Azole at the end. If they have a vaginal Terbinafine that would work (but if it is only for athletes foot don't use it). Otherwise you will have to get a culture done from the doctor to see what it is.
i scratch down there a lot now ( this has been going on for the past month ) and if i stop scratching it a clear and very irratating liquid starts to come out - i am 14 yr old guy and i want to no the answer to my problem - oh and i have not asked my doc anything about this
Griseofulvin or Terbinafine are the treatments for this not Ketoconazole. Except that you can use ketoconazole for a shampoo in addition to the pills. This is provided your liver is healthy. They may do a blood test to check your liver enzymes. So you need oral Griseofulvin or Terbinafine pills (Lamisil). So I would see another dermatologist as that one doesn't seem to be up to date. They can do a culture and see what type it is and confirm that it is a fungus too.
My skin near rectal area is turning into red color and peeling off ,severe itching near the rectal area unable to sleep at night can i use terbicip (Terbinafine and Hydrochrolide Cream ) cream for my problem.
