So, frustrated and distressed, back I went to the dermatologist. This time, she gave me an oral antifungal called terbinafine and also gave me desonate gel, another corticosteroid. She said if it is fungal, the terbinafine should clear it up right away since it's a rather small rash. She also said that if it's contact dermatitis, the desonate gel would clear it up. So, I went on with her directions and took the terbinafine for 10 days and used the desonate for 14 days.
I had a baby 11 months ago and I am currently nursing. On my upper back I have a large discolored spot. It takes up the majority of the aread between my shoulder blades. It has a brownish color to it and itches sometimes. I first noticed it about 8 months ago, but it may have been there longer.

The physicians sayed it was eczema. The gave me diprosone and oral cortisone.
The main findings were that for reduced fungus, terbinafine was found to be significantly better than itraconazole and griseofulvin, and terbinafine was better tolerated than itraconazole.

What you have read is correct. You could discuss this finding with your doctor and get him to prescribe it for you. Since the treatment is long-term it is better to go with onr which is tolerated better by the body.
Immediately I started applying Lamisil (terbinafine) every morning till today. All the redness and everything else is gone, but if I look at the skin from the side, I can still see the "circles" (in slightly different skin tone) where the fungi was located... does it mean that I'll have to keep on applying the cream for longer till I don't see those circles?

My husband and I going through the exact same thing. I've been taking it day by day. Who would have thought Ringworm would suck so bad :(. We ended up getting it from 2 rescue kittens. They seem to kind of fade, but I can still see them.
Ive had 2 biopsy not cancer. Dr thinking fungus . I was on antibiotics and am currently taking Terbinafine 250mg and Ketoconazole 200mg pill and cream and wash . I recently had a tooth pulled and gum filled with puss. maybe that was hindering my healing. so frustrated and worried.
Hi! I have had an itchy rash on the back of my head for the past 8 years. It is reddish, mostly flat with some raised bumps (some become pimples). There are areas of red that coalesce and thicker areas of skin. I have tried washing with Selsun Blue shampoo before, and occasionally tried Clindamycin gel on my skin with little improvement. Can anyone suggest a diagnosis and a cure? I have included the picture below.

I am not a doctor are anything like that, ,but I have white spots on my back and I was told that they are like that because the skin cannot tan and I have not found anything to get them to go away, if you find something please let me know!

I have used terbinafine cream for a week and my fungal infection almost went away.but after a week i started oral fluconazole with terbinafine cream.after few days again some fungal infection came...is it the side effect of fluconazole. ???
FYI, terbinafine is Lamisil cream. Terbinafine is the generic name. Otherwise, you will have to see a doctor.
At day 12, I was still feeling discomfort so I took a 10 panel test, where everything came back negative except for HSV 1. I went to my doctor earlier this week and was prescribed terbinafine for a possible yeast infection, and cipro for a potential UTI. After 4 days of both, I’m still not feeling any much relief. Is it possible that I’m on a wrong antibiotic? Trying to self medicate, I’m reading that doxycycline might be more appropriate?
s ago from laying on a tanning bed,the doctor perscribed this white cream that worked,but they seem to come back every now and then.the doctor said it was some sort of fungus.I read that dandruff shampoo or tea tree oil works.i have denorex which i just started to use,i put it on my white spots for 20-30 min after i take a shower,then rinse it off.is this a good idea?any suggestion's would be helpful...
miconazole, tolnaftate, terbinafine, ketaconazole and clotrimazole. You can consult a pharmacist and get any cream or lotion containing these ingredients. Some of them are Lamisil, Monistat derm, Mycelex, and Nizoral. If the symptoms persist then please consult a dermatologist.

Hi, I'm a 26 year old male. I went for a vacation to Ko Samui about 3 weeks back where I was swimming at beaches and in pools all the time. Since then, I've had a slight redness in the right groin and scrotum along with dry and flaky skin on the same groin. There is moderate itchiness which is a bit annoying, especially at night, but nothing intense. The redness is not well demarcated and the skin is not raised. There seems to be a slight odor. The skin is also sticky.
I got a small patch of "ringworm" or so I assumned and still believe so way back in January of this year 2009. Well I took a month to finally get money for med's for it I bought in the store. Well they seemed to be working and I got rid of the thing but not in 4 weeks it took almost 3 months, in the mean time I had grown a second patch that was near my toe all on my foot. The first was small about size of a quarter the new one started smaller.
t hurt or itch and I only noticed it because I caught it when putting a sock on and that caused a brief moment of pain that soon subsided. I chose to ignore it as it wasn't really bothering me so I thought it may disappear on its own. It didn't. (Oh, and it was a circular shape but not a perfect circle imagine a blurred circle?)
About 2 months ago I started to notice it growing a little bit wider not much maybe only 1-2cm extra?
