Avatar m tn I know a friend who also has hepa b. Not sure what medication she took, but her doctor gave her a treatment that she is following religiously. She is coping with her condition just fine. While getting the insights of other hepa b patients online can help with your research, you need to take their comments with a grain of salt. You cannot blindly follow what people on the Internet tell you because they cannot be held accountable if their advice makes things worse for you.

Avatar m tn Anyone here know anything about zetia and its affect on the thyroid and or levo absorption? I have read it may affect absorption and the rx monograph says talk tp your doctor if you have thyroid disorders. He knows I am on synthroid, but I am curious how this drug affects it.
Avatar f tn So now, here I am, worried, anxious and scared that I may have messed up the hbv virus in my body by taking and stopping, taking and stopping. Need advise from ladies who have been on tenofovir before and throughout pregnancy. The last I wish to know is for drugs makers to recall tenofovir for pregnancy after 10years (which is quite common). My preference is of course not to take any drugs at least while trying and during 1st trimester as this is the most crucial period for fetal development.

I also have Tenofovir 245 mg but it is expired 8.2013 so may be it is not good anymore. I used it both of the only 3 tabts each and I stopped. Actually I used 245 mg first and the side effect was so bad that I stopped.
Avatar f tn HR knew about tenofovir being the strongest antiviral for hbv well before 2000, in a post he said that he knows a person in california who waited for tenofovir to be on the market for hiv 2001 and then started tenofovir, he is probably still ok without sides otherwise HR wouldn't have mentioned even my doctors know about tenofovir being free of resistance already you have zero resistance at 3 years (first antiviral with no resistance at 3 years, all the others have resistance at 1 year, eve
Avatar m tn Treatment is recommended for adults with CHB who do not have clinical evidence of cirrhosis (or based on APRI score ≤2 in adults), but are aged more than 30 years (in particular), and have persistently abnormal ALT levels and evidence of highlevel HBV replication (HBV DNA >20 000 IU/mL), regardless of HBeAg status.
Avatar f tn Tenofovir will suppress your dna hopefully to undetectable... Not sure if you will lose the hbeag or not.... Someone who knows more about these meds will probs be able to help more.... My husb is on Tenofovir but he was already hbeag negative when starting but he has a mutation which made his dna rise..
Avatar m tn I'am calling out doctors here in the Philippines who prescribe with tenofovir, please pm me. I'll visit your clinic/hospital. I'm so desperate in getting this drug.

Avatar m tn hbv has no symptoms, you may even be dying and feel nothing tenofovir improves kideys function especially tenofovir+telbivudine in those with kidneys function.
Avatar m tn tenofovir is the oldest drug among hbv drug since we share the same drugs as hiv, it is the most potent and generics are on the market.
Avatar f tn Hi Olawalemi123, most patients who get treated with tenofovir do achieve undetected serum viral dna within short time of commencement of treatment. The decision when to stop is taken in consultation with your hepatologist who checks your liver enzymes, degree of inflammation/injury of your liver, hbeag status, hbsag quantity/status, family history of hcc, etc.
Avatar m tn who is the crazy docotor who prescribed lamivudine/epivir, add tenofovir as soon as possible, lamivudine don t cure hbv and makes hbv mutations which can be untreatable and can make liver cancer even if hbvdna undetactable do add tenofovir as soon as possible, you have just worsen your condition with lam, it is not indicated for hbv anymore, only tenofovir (viread) entecavir (baraclude) interferon are to know if you are clearing you need hbsag quantitative in iu/ml and to know if you are saf
Avatar n tn Have any of the women on this forum who are taking tenofovir experienced the side effects? I know one of them is redistribution of fat -- such as in the neck/back/chest areas. Does anyone know how common these sides are/experienced this? And to what extent? I am about to start taking this regularly so I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for anything that could potentially come my way...
Avatar m tn Below is an old post from Stef, this is the post that calculated that it would take 17 years to clear HBsAg with Tenofovir and 63 years with Telbivudine. I am just reposting so that more people get to know it. Thanks to Stef for having found it. Address of old post, with more discusstions: http://www.medhelp.org/posts/Hepatitis-B/tenofovir-has-fastest-hbsag-decline-than-other-nucs-hbeag-/show/1941070 Below extracted from Stef's old post: http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/liv.
Avatar m tn it is rationale to use the most potent ones like tenofovir or entecavir all other patients had hbsag after first year so low that it may go on and clear even with no therapies, hbsag around 10-30iu/ml, one around 300iu/ml one patient, did not respond, this patient was on adefovir+lamivudine, non response may be due to the use of thee weaker drugs and who knows maybe using tenofovir or tenofovir+entecavir, anyway it is just one who did not respond and he will be able to retry interferon later o
9624973 tn?1413016130 Hi Melcul, I am from eastern european country and I also work in the UK 4 years now, however I am hepa B positive and I could give you few advises. First contact your GP, tell him to refer you to hepatologist. Once you attend your appointment with hepatologist they will make you all the liver tests they need to understand more about your condition. So they will be your liver team ( looking after your liver) .
Avatar n tn Hello everyone. Is there anybody on this forum who cleared Hbsag by medication?
