I know a friend who also has hepa b. Not sure what medication she took, but her doctor gave her a treatment that she is following religiously. She is coping with her condition just fine. While getting the insights of other hepa b patients online can help with your research, you need to take their comments with a grain of salt. You cannot blindly follow what people on the Internet tell you because they cannot be held accountable if their advice makes things worse for you.
Anyone here know anything about zetia and its affect on the thyroid and or levo absorption? I have read it may affect absorption and the rx monograph says talk tp your doctor if you have thyroid disorders.
He knows I am on synthroid, but I am curious how this drug affects it.
So now, here I am, worried, anxious and scared that I may have messed up the hbv virus in my body by taking and stopping, taking and stopping. Need advise from ladies who have been on tenofovir before and throughout pregnancy. The last I wish to know is for drugs makers to recall tenofovir for pregnancy after 10years (which is quite common). My preference is of course not to take any drugs at least while trying and during 1st trimester as this is the most crucial period for fetal development.

I also have Tenofovir 245 mg but it is expired 8.2013 so may be it is not good anymore. I used it both of the only 3 tabts each and I stopped. Actually I used 245 mg first and the side effect was so bad that I stopped.
HR knew about tenofovir being the strongest antiviral for hbv well before 2000, in a post he said that he knows a person in california who waited for tenofovir to be on the market for hiv 2001 and then started tenofovir, he is probably still ok without sides otherwise HR wouldn't have mentioned

Tenofovir will suppress your dna hopefully to undetectable... Not sure if you will lose the hbeag or not.... Someone who knows more about these meds will probs be able to help more.... My husb is on Tenofovir but he was already hbeag negative when starting but he has a mutation which made his dna rise..

hbv has no symptoms, you may even be dying and feel nothing
tenofovir improves kideys function especially tenofovir+telbivudine in those with kidneys function.
tenofovir is the oldest drug among hbv drug since we share the same drugs as hiv, it is the most potent and generics are on the market.
Hi Olawalemi123, most patients who get treated with tenofovir do achieve undetected serum viral dna within short time of commencement of treatment. The decision when to stop is taken in consultation with your hepatologist who checks your liver enzymes, degree of inflammation/injury of your liver, hbeag status, hbsag quantity/status, family history of hcc, etc.
who is the crazy docotor who prescribed lamivudine/epivir, add tenofovir as soon as possible, lamivudine don t cure hbv and makes hbv mutations which can be untreatable and can make liver cancer even if hbvdna undetactable
do add tenofovir as soon as possible, you have just worsen your condition with lam, it is not indicated for hbv anymore, only tenofovir (viread) entecavir (baraclude) interferon are
to know if you are clearing you need hbsag quantitative in iu/ml and to know if you are saf
Have any of the women on this forum who are taking tenofovir experienced the side effects? I know one of them is redistribution of fat -- such as in the neck/back/chest areas. Does anyone know how common these sides are/experienced this? And to what extent?
I am about to start taking this regularly so I'm trying to mentally prepare myself for anything that could potentially come my way...
