hbv has no mutations at all under tenofovir tx and i think we can find data from some patients using tenofovir for more than 3 years even if not on trial about this.
entecavir mono has only 1.2% resistance but has several hbv mutations anyway altough only 1.2% has resistance to entecavir.

As GS-7340 is more efficacious than tenofovir do you think that by its approval(hope soon as studies are underway in Hiv patients) will lead to the approval of this drug for Hepatitis B and are we expecting more hbv seroconversions(used in combo or mono)?

These combos are all studied in vitro in 2009. I would interpret the results cautiously. Look like Truvada is the only one in clinical trials.
entecavir+tenofovir (viread) , is a good choice for you at this point....and also tell your doctor to read up on the results if clinical trials of DIFFERENT antiretrovirals before he puts anyone else on a treatment.
Tenofovir will suppress your dna hopefully to undetectable... Not sure if you will lose the hbeag or not.... Someone who knows more about these meds will probs be able to help more.... My husb is on Tenofovir but he was already hbeag negative when starting but he has a mutation which made his dna rise..
start with entecavir or tenofovir better if combo with nitazoxanide and then when hbvdna und and normal alt make staggered or combo peginterferon
the theory is when hbvdna gets und by entecavir or tenofovir the immune system suppression by hbv is much less and peginterferon can work better, on small studies and report cases this staggered combo therapy has lead to very good results and higher hbsag seroconversions

That is actually not much better than tenofovir vs tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, the actual substance in Viread. It is 50 times more potent than tenofovir.
It is all this improper simplification of callling viread tenofovir.
Tenovovir, if it would be given orally, would have no effect on HBV.
TEnofovir if given intravenously or sc would still have almost no effect on HBV in the liver. the substance has a high negative charge and cannot easlily penetrate cell membranes.
So we have more trials on entecavir more trials on tenofovir.
