ContraVir reports data shows CMX157 more potent against HBV than Gilead Viread
ContraVir Pharmaceuticals (CTRV) announced preliminary data dramatizing the unique properties of CMX157, the company's highly potent lipid prodrug of the successful antiviral drug tenofovir, or TFV. CMX157 was shown to be 60-fold more active than tenofovir against the hepatitis B virus, or HBV, based on in vitro studies.
It is only more potent in the sense that as a prodrug of Tenofovir, just like the existing Viread(TDF), TAF converts to Tenofovir mainly in the liver cells, therefore has less side effects. But as Stef2011 stated, they reduced the dosage of TAF accordingly, so the same amount of Tenofovir is delivered to the liver cells as TDF. It would be really nice if they can do a proper dosage study of TAF/TDF specifically for HBV (and not use the same dosage for HIV/AIDS).
tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) is a prodrug of tenofovir. The 'disoproxil' is a side chain attached to the active component 'tenofovir'. Inside our body, this side chain gets cleaved off by an enzyme to release the active tenofovir. AGX-1009 has a different side chain attached to the active component 'tenofovir'. For those with kidney problems there are equally effective drugs such as entecavir, whereas the tenofovir prodrug taf, which is kidney friendly, but equally effective as tdf, is almost ready for hbv patients. Regarding scarring or degree of fibrosis, i think it is difficult to tell before a fibroscan and/or biopsy is done.

Short Answer:
This depends on your metabolism, but in general it will stay in your system for 24-36 hours with a *low dose* (ie. no more than 30mg of codein). However with larger doses, it will be in your system for 48-72 hours depending on how high your dosage was.
Long Answer:

The following is a paper from doctors in Francel. It said you can breastfeed whilst your are on Tenofovir because "Tenofovir is not absorbed in the breast milk". However, I have googled and cannot find any reference to this claim. All the best to you and your baby.

Is there a way I can have a prescription from a doctor when buying tenofovir online? Here in the Philippines, the drug is not yet available and the doctors are not prescribing it since it is not available. tenofovir is the oldest drug among hbv drug since we share the same drugs as hiv, it is the most potent and generics are on the market.
HBVDNA is not detectable, Fiboscan is normal. initially i went through PegIntreforen+ Tenofovir for 40 weeks in 2012 then i switch to only Tenofovir. Now it 3 yrs and 4 month on Tenofovir.
Last week my doctor told that you HbeAg should be non reactive after 2 yrs of Tenofovir but since it over 3 years so might be Tenofovir resistance So you need to change my medicine.
Please suggest me what i do.
