I was diagnosed chronic hep B in June 2010 and given Baraclude 0.5mg prescription. Before treatment, my ALT was 98 (ULN<58); hbvdna 50,000,000 IU; hbeag +ve. After 9 months, my latest results are: ALT 50; hbvdna 1,700 IU; hbeag still +ve.
Has Baracule become less effective in my body? frds of mine can achieve hbvdna und within 6 months of treatment.
Should I go for other treatments? Thank you for your advice.
I have taking Baraclude for 14 months, previoulsy my blood result showns Hep BE Antigen negative, 0.0901 meanwhile Hep BE Ab showns positive, 0.028. My doctor advised me to continus taking for another 2 years but yesterday my blood results indicate that my Hep Be Antigenn back to Positive, 23.28 and Hep Be Ab positive, 0.269. What does this mean? Is it virus is resistant with Baraclude? Should I continue and is there any change for it to back to zero conversion?

you had acute hbv, do avoid drugs and thing that can suppress immune system, you are clearing hbv no cronic patient can have hbsag as low as 250iu/ml in so little time and without drugs
hbcab igm also confirms acute hbv, it clears by 6-12 months, rarely by 3 months

very bad choice this is very weak with the lowest hbeag and hbsag seroconversion rates, this is useful only in case of cirrhosis when tenofovir cant b used.
But i think it is time so I can do better for my second baby since when i carried my first child, I really did not know anything about Hep B and I also didn't know why i carry it chronically since my parents and my sister did not .Luckily, my daughter is fine as I take tenofovir during the last semester, I hope after she got the last vaccine, she will get HBs negative and enough HbsAb, it is my wish. So what should I do next with Tenofovir?
REGARDLESS OF ALL THIS, you baby should get a shot of Hep b right after birth. Recheck with nurse that shot is given to baby. Also ask your doctor to give baby hep b immunoglobulins. your baby is safe after this. Read centre for disese control guidelines for hepatitis +ve mother. You should follow those guidelines. Those guidelines are most reliable source of information.
