That is actually not much better than tenofovir vs tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, the actual substance in Viread. It is 50 times more potent than tenofovir.
It is all this improper simplification of callling viread tenofovir.
Tenovovir, if it would be given orally, would have no effect on HBV.
TEnofovir if given intravenously or sc would still have almost no effect on HBV in the liver. the substance has a high negative charge and cannot easlily penetrate cell membranes.

they sell generics so you have to search for ingredient tenofovir or name of the generic drug and not by viread
GS-7340 - so this is another formulation of Tenofovir by Gilead Science. The timing of this new pro-drug is interesting. Most likely Gilead Science has been sitting on this for a while. Just like it has been sitting on Tenofovir as a drug for HBV for years.
There is an Australian company that is also developing a new pro-drug of Tenofovir, it will begin clinical trial in China next year.
Gilead has amassed a fortune from its HIV drugs.

My guess is: since Viread's patent will expire in 2-3 years, Gilead is trying to come up with a new drug (Well, sort of 'new'). And Agenix is competing with them.

tenvir tm is generic version of tenofovir+emtricitabine (truvada) which even more potent than tenofovir alone
entecavir is less potent of both tdf or truvada, i am also on entecavir which is about 1000usd per month changing currency from euro, i have it free in my country but it is absurd to allow such costs for a stupid tablet

In china, we can get 2 types of TDF, one is from HongKong which is imported from Gilead Science USA, the other one is from India Cipla company.None of them are legal in China currently.
Would like to ask, if Tenofovir Cipla could be worse than Viread USA? Which one should I take for the rest of my life? What's your guys advice? BTW, the US one is 6 times more expensive than the India one.
