as a antiviral, tenofovir is best choice agree. but before starting tenofovir you can try daily 10000(ten thousand) iu dose of vit d and check its value bi-weekly, and check your other parameters dna and hbsag monthly. you can do this for 2-3 month and check the progress , you may get good results with vit d only and in future dont need to start tenofovir.
New GI: Do you want Tenofovir or Peginterferon? My new GI said she will try to switch me from Entecavir and either put me on Tenofovir or Peginterferon. I ask for a combo and she told me that Tenofovir and Peginterferon does the same thing. Is that even true?

That is actually not much better than tenofovir vs tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, the actual substance in Viread. It is 50 times more potent than tenofovir.
It is all this improper simplification of callling viread tenofovir.

One slide (the one before the last one) showed HbsAg decline overtime with tenofovir over 3 years. The mean HbsAg dropped from 10000iu/ml (week 0) to ~7000iu/ml (week 144 This number is just my visual estimate from the graph) for e negative patients. It's encouraging, but I wonder if it will keep dropping or become stablized after a few years?
