My guess is: since Viread's patent will expire in 2-3 years, Gilead is trying to come up with a new drug (Well, sort of 'new'). And Agenix is competing with them.

entecavir+tenofovir (viread) , is a good choice for you at this point....and also tell your doctor to read up on the results if clinical trials of DIFFERENT antiretrovirals before he puts anyone else on a treatment.

hbv has no mutations at all under tenofovir tx and i think we can find data from some patients using tenofovir for more than 3 years even if not on trial about this.
entecavir mono has only 1.2% resistance but has several hbv mutations anyway altough only 1.2% has resistance to entecavir.Can this mutated hbv virus be dangerous also to your family?especially if you have a mother with liver transplant, a sister with same CHB as you and a father with hbv vaccine?
s going chronic at this point. The clinical trial was basically a combination of Viread (Tenofovir TDF) and Son of Viread (Tenofovir TAF). The study they are doing is basically to measure bone density over time and the impact on kidneys.
I was also presented with 2 other options, Baraclude, once a day, and straight up Viread, once a day. My question to you guys is... who here has had experience with any of this. Were there obvious side effects you experienced?

please stop spamming about herbs, there is no herb to clear hbv while combination of tenofovir+interferon has show 40% cure at 1 year combo already with increasing percentage in the following years, herbs 0% clearance proven for now

That is actually not much better than tenofovir vs tenofovir disoproxil fumarate, the actual substance in Viread. It is 50 times more potent than tenofovir.
It is all this improper simplification of callling viread tenofovir.
Tenovovir, if it would be given orally, would have no effect on HBV.
TEnofovir if given intravenously or sc would still have almost no effect on HBV in the liver. the substance has a high negative charge and cannot easlily penetrate cell membranes.
There is an Australian company that is also developing a new pro-drug of Tenofovir, it will begin clinical trial in China next year.
Gilead has amassed a fortune from its HIV drugs. It can afford to buy out Pharmassat(for its HCV drugs) for 11 billion dollars CASH!
This company is not exactly generous or with social conscience.
take tenofovir as soon as possible, lam is not a tx for hbv anymore if you have 200 copies you probably have resistance already after 2 years you should be absolutely und
check for mutation and if so start combo entecavir+tenofovir and check with other doctors for a combo, after a mutation mono tx is very dangerous
