Avatar m tn I have been a hepatitis carrier for 6 years, there is no symptoms. I got the virus from my mum when I was born, Can this be cured and do I need to take medicine. I got some information on line. They said I only need to have the baby get vaccine after birth. Is that correct? Thanks.
Avatar m tn there are no drugs for hbv, the drugs can only stop liver damage by lowering hbv replication to very low level interferon, entecavir, tenofovir are the only drugs available, all other are not first line and very weak so might even worsen situation

Avatar m tn s no curable drug available for hepatitis B for now .2 o/o with chronic hepatitis B has cleared the virus . some on treatment (ART) and others not . Some with chronic hepatitis develop hbsag without any treatment and are cured . what are the tests you have done You just need to accompany your treatment with good nutrition and supplements .
Avatar m tn Your post is confusing. The usual definitive test for Hepatitis B positive is the HBsAg test. If you test positive for HBsAg then you are Hepatitis B positive. In some rare cases, you may test HbsAg negative, but your viral load (hbvdna) is detected, then you have what is known as Occult Hepatitis B. Most likely in your case, you tested hbvdna "negative" after being on Lamivudine, but you still tested HbsAg positive.
Avatar f tn Tenofovir is very effective, his viral load and ALT should come down significantly from the baseline values. Generally, Tenofovir has to taken for at least several years or longer. In a few lucky patients, Tenofovir may be stopped after meeting several criteria and under the advice and straight supervision by a HBV specialists. Even fewer patients may achieve the endpoint of treatment by losing their HBV surface antigen. These are exceptions.
Avatar n tn my company planned send for UNITED KINGDOM training , due to company medical test not applied for training where the hepatitis b and hiv peoples and other infectious will not be sent for training ,since my case is hepatitis b they will reject and iam upset due to this . to be frank i have vaccinated for hepatitis b in year 2002 confirmed that hbasg was negative.
Avatar m tn First of all, there is no cure for Hepatitis B at the moment, some treatments may lead a small percentage of patients to achieve a cure. These treatments usually take years. Hepatitis B persons are suitable for most jobs and professions, so if they discriminate you on the basis of your Hepatitis B, fight them, protest. You may not win, but these employers and governments must know they are wrong. As your proposed treatment, I am not so sure.
Avatar m tn Although there is still no complete cure for hepatitis B, there are 7 approved drugs for adults (2 for children) and many promising new drugs in development. Current treatments seem to be most effective in those who show signs of active liver disease Not every person with chronic hepatitis B needs to be on medication. You should talk to your doctor about whether you are a good candidate for drug therapy or a clinical trial.
Avatar f tn In 2006 i founded that i have hepatitis B+D. Off couse i have a lot of analysis, my TGO and TGP was very high, viremy for hepatitis B and D was present. I started with Roferon (interferon) for 4 months but no result. My big problem was TGO very high (14 * normally). This treatment with Roferon has stoped. Then I started for 1 year with entecavirul 0.5 mg/day, but my analysis still very bad. Then my doctor's said that i have to start a combo treatment with Pegasys and Entecavir.
Avatar m tn I tested positive for Hepatitis B 12 years and last week I went for a DNA/virus load and it was 192 per 150 mg.
