ContraVir reports data shows CMX157 more potent against HBV than Gilead Viread
ContraVir Pharmaceuticals (CTRV) announced preliminary data dramatizing the unique properties of CMX157, the company's highly potent lipid prodrug of the successful antiviral drug tenofovir, or TFV. CMX157 was shown to be 60-fold more active than tenofovir against the hepatitis B virus, or HBV, based on in vitro studies.

GILD) files its New Drug Application (NDA) with the FDA seeking clearance of tenofovir alafenamide (TAF) 25 mg for the treatment of adults with chronic HBV infection. The company is transitioning its product line to TAF from TDF (tenofovir disoproxil fumarate) because it is just as effective at a dose less that one tenth that of TDF and is less stressful on the bones and kidneys.
The company intends to file its TAF Marketing Authorization Application (MAA) in Europe this quarter.

your best choice would be tenofovir anyway, without any test available in nigeria you d better use antiviral which works almost 100% to keep virus replication low and prevent liver damage
peginterferon works only on less than 50% patients and clears hbsag only on 7% of patients when hbsag is over 1000iu/ml.

Gilead has amassed a fortune from its HIV drugs. It can afford to buy out Pharmassat(for its HCV drugs) for 11 billion dollars CASH!
This company is not exactly generous or with social conscience.
m of the opinion that any eventual cure for hepb is not coming from Gilead. This big pharma company is only interested in reaping the hepb patients with its almost useless but life long treatments with tenofovir/taf.

The first one is costing around $1 in india and the second one is around 65 cent.
I did little bit internet search about “tenofovir” and came to know once you start these medicines you can’t stop in-between otherwise it might start damaging your lever also you can’t change the medicine in-between if you are seeing any side affect.

tenvir tm is generic version of tenofovir+emtricitabine (truvada) which even more potent than tenofovir alone
entecavir is less potent of both tdf or truvada, i am also on entecavir which is about 1000usd per month changing currency from euro, i have it free in my country but it is absurd to allow such costs for a stupid tablet

Inside our body, this side chain gets cleaved off by an enzyme to release the active tenofovir. AGX-1009 has a different side chain attached to the active component 'tenofovir'. It may show higher potency and/or lower toxicity compared to Viread because of this different side chain (At least that's what Agenix is hoping for).

Be sure your hbvdna is less than 20iu/ml
if you want to lower hbsag and clear hbeag you need to add peginterferon to tenofovir, wait until you are 3 years on tenofovir and then add on peg, if hbsag declines by 24weeks of add on the therapy is working and you may clear hbv definitively
@sam 19,beware of where you go to in UAE for hbv test,they can get you deported in no time. I was deported last year coz of hepb. I worked with ekfc then and laundry dept which has nothing to do with food.uae lied about hepb deportation for some categories.
