49 log10 hichic, so I đid need to take Tenofovir from week 32 to lower the HBV DNA and reduce risk of birth transfer Till now, I still take TEnofovir and I have not do a recheck yet because I feel scared and nervous, worried much hichic....But i think it is time so I can do better for my second baby since when i carried my first child, I really did not know anything about Hep B and I also didn't know why i carry it chronically since my parents and my sister did not .
You are correct that Truvada is a combination of tenofovir and emtricitabine, and is generally prescribed for patients with HIV. Being a HBV forum, most of us know very little about Truvada except that it is prescribed off-label for HBV by some doctors, and that it is recommended for HBV patients who develop resistance to Tenofovir.
Generally, Tenofovir is recommended throughout pregnancy, even during breastfeeding.

It is safe to take throughout pregnancy and breastfeeding. I did that and baby is fine. He is now a healthy chubby 13mth old. Tenofovir is also the only safe antiviral for pregnancy (category B drug).

Forgive me if I'm posting this incorrectly. This is my first time. Unfortunately, I found out after I got pregnant that I am HBV positive. I am told that I have chronic HBV and probably got it from my mother. All of this is very new and scary to me, especially because I'm pregnant. I recently went to a liver specialist and she told me that my viral load is very high and my ALT is also high.

hbsag relapsed and it is obvious hbsag was too high when you stopped tdf, only hbsag less than 100iu/ml have chances to clear
any drug has sides but you have to be mart to understand who develops sides, on the contraru you are taking drugs that make damage in your situation, Lyvomin is a useless drug and has no indication on hbv
vitamin B can have sides and in the wrong dose can make liver damage and death...i guess tenofovir cannot kill, so what do you think vitamin B is a killing drug?
checking tenofovir trials on hbv only (no hiv coinfection) kidney problems are in less than 1% patients and i haven't found tx discontinuation because of kidney problems.
hbv has no mutations at all under tenofovir tx and i think we can find data from some patients using tenofovir for more than 3 years even if not on trial about this.
entecavir mono has only 1.2% resistance but has several hbv mutations anyway altough only 1.2% has resistance to entecavir.

Not sure though when it is man who is the carrier if it is any difference, I believe your baby should be fine after vaccination at birth ( in the first 24 hours) as stated by stef.

For the first 39 months of use of entecavir/tenofovir there is not significant difference in HCC development for tenofovir vs entecavir for non-cirrhotic...as probably expected since pre-malignancy was probably already developed in those HCC cases. For Cirrhotic tenofovir maybe seems to be just slightly better option.
For non-cirrhotic usage of interferon in the past reduced chances of HCC by 29% in this study.
the liver repairs itself, hbv makes no damage on most and about 10-20% can get cirrhosis after a life time
you need to check fibroscan, hbsag quantity in iu/ml, hbeag, ast/alt, hbvdna and then consider if sequential treatment of tenofovir and peginterferon add on might work in your case, this treatmnet takes 3-5years of tenofovir and then another 2 years tenofovir+peginterferon, 50% clear first year and 90% lower hbsag by first year.
