Avatar f tn Thanks for using the forum. I am happy to address your questions, and my answer will be based on the information you provided here. Please make sure you recognize that this forum is for educational purposes only, and it does not substitute for a formal office visit with a doctor. Without the ability to examine and obtain a history and review the imaging, I can not tell you what the exact cause of the symptoms is or what the implications of the imaging findings are.
Avatar n tn I am a 25 year old female. I was diagnosed with a primary brain tumor in June 2008 and underwent surgery to remove it. It was the size of an apple and diagnosed a grade 2 tumor. It grew back in September 2008 and that's when i began rigorous radiation and oral chemotherapy (Temozolomide). My recent MRI has showed the regrowth of the tumor to be "gone." The plan is to take the Temozolomide for 2 years along with Accutane (which helps the oral chemotherapy work better).
Avatar f tn m laying or slmetimes feels lile marbles in other areas. I just feel the pressure. I am afraid this NHL has turned into cns lymphoma. I am now afraid that I am going to have a brain herniation if this is the case. Am I totally off base here, is this even possible for NHL to turn into cns lymphoma and if I am feel pressure is that intercrainial pressure or is that something different?
Avatar f tn I took him to the ER and he stayed in the hospital getting sicker and sicker everyday for 2 months before they officially diagnosed him with primary CNS lymphoma.. Because this is a rare type of brain cancer i havent found much useful information on the internet. Anyway, they did 7 rounds of chemotherapy. The first five were also paired with high doses of methotrexate and the last two rounds they called "consolidation chemo".
Avatar f tn Hi all! A very knowledgeable friend of mine just posted this information, and I thought I'd post it in here in the event it may help a few suffering souls... 7625.9 in reply to 7625.6 Conditions associated with Hepatitis C
Several extra-hepatic (outside of the liver) conditions are associated with chronic hepatitis C. These conditions are not very common and their occurrence does not correlate with the severity of the underlying liver disease.
Avatar f tn I recently got a new neurologist who is a neuroimmunologist/MS specialist who said he doesn’t think I have MS but based on a certain biomarker in my csf, neuro TB, CNS lymphoma, or neurosarcoidosis. TB has been ruled out but the other two are pending. The eye part is that I was sent back to the eye specialist and I have posterior uveitis and he is questioning whether the “drusen” are actually that.
Avatar f tn (she has Epstein Barr and her level had been elevated) He did an MRI with contrast, no other test and told her she Hodgkins Lymphoma. First question, can you determind Hodgkins without any type of biopsy? She has an appointment with him several weeks later, to discuss options for treatments. She then tells him about these headaches that she has been having. He orders and MRI with contrast and an MRI without, he ordered a sonagram of her salvatary gland and thyroid.
Avatar n tn The nervous system is divided in two, the central nervous system (CNS) and the peripheral nervous system (PNS), the CNS includes the brain and spinal cord, while the PNS includes all of the nerves that branch out from the brain and spinal cord and extend to other parts of the body.... "Causes of neuropathies include: Alcoholism. Poor dietary choices made by people with alcoholism can lead to vitamin deficiencies. Autoimmune diseases.
Avatar m tn Dear jterwin, Thanks for writing in. Leukaemia of the central nervous system is extremely rare (in patients who do not have leukemia and presenting with headache only). I won't consider it as a possibility in your case. Since all your exams and test results are normal, it is very unlikely that you have a serious disorder. Given your symptoms, it is more likely that you could be suffering from a simple tension headache or sinusitis. These can be easily differentiated on examination.
Avatar f tn Is it bad or not recommended to take anything that effects the CNS? Are CNS depressants and stimulants bad for us to take?
Avatar f tn I am a 57 year old female who has been diagnosed with CNS inflammation. After reading a posting from this forum, Heidi - 1-24-1999, the response stated that a patient should not be left with a diagnosis of CNS inflammation; however, that is how I have been left as 2-6-08. On 11-11-07, I had a seizure while at a pro football game and was taken to HUMC where I was admitted for 11 days.
Avatar f tn I was just now seen by a nurologist who said that my pathology report showed CNS Vasculitis as the reason for the hemorrage in Oct. and that is very bad. He wants to look for any other secondary disease that may be causing this like Lupus. So I have done a Spinal Tap and blood work and will be doing a Brain Angiograph depending on these results. I am so bad today I can barely walk.
Avatar f tn Hello! I posted a bit on MRSA, and then recalled a bit of information I came across while going through treament...My friend in Delphiforums.com "Heppers for Awareness" Just reposted this...and it got me to wondering, have you ever been tested for cryoglobulinemia? Hep C infections can cause the overstimulation of lymphocytes (white blood cells) called cyroglobulins which can cause the exact symptoms you are experiencing.
Avatar f tn It sounds like your CNS is being affected by something. You need to see a doctor and find a satisfactory answer. I doubt this is gastro-related. The dizziness alone would have me think Vertigo, but you are having all sorts of other central nervous system related symptoms and you need to see a doctor to determine what it is. I know you don't have insurance, but this is potentially something serious and you need to have it looked into.
Avatar n tn One thing I forgot to mention is that the lymph nodes on my neck have been swollen since I had the mono and I was convinced I had some kind of lymphoma that had traveled to the CNS, but the neurologist called me crazy as did my primary doctor. I have two (one is a little bigger than the other, both are about the size of a small peanut).
