We know the tumor is in a slightly different area than it was originally. He is in treatment (Temodar for the second time) for the third recurrence of his tumor. We have always been told it is in an area where surgery has not been an option. The oncologist does say he believes it is a higher grade. We think he believes it is glioblastoma but he won't say that definitely without doing another biopsy.
I have medicare in California I will enroll in it next month,I have liver transplant with hcv and cirrhosis ,I need to find out how medicare and if medicare pay for sovaldi and olysio.
This is random i know. So i faxed over my new adress and stuff for medicare and its been literally almost a month since and still waiting for approval and i was just wondering if im not sure if i have it yet that i can just go into the hospital in the outpatient section for treatment because im literally almost 4 months preg and still have not seen a doc. even for an ultrasound for christ sake.... can somebody tell me how i can get immediate care?
A month ago my husband (41) had a tumor resection of a GBM in the left temporal/frontal lobe. He is still recovering from surgery and has begun cancer treatment (temodar& radiation) a week ago. He has a previous accident injury where he has struggled with neck pain for ten years. He has been on suboxone for probably 7 years now. He is currently taking his suboxone but is not getting any relief for his head pain.
I will be on my last of 12-week treatment, with maybe traces still detected when I turn 65 and have to use Medicare. Coverage is great until then. The the medicare sales people know of no company that accepts Solivar since they are going by last year's sheet. Does anyone know where any updating is being done to reflect Solivar in their policy?
Can i be denied for florida medicare because i live with my boyfriend on the app it asked for all his info job $ what he owns I put tht only I am applying but they still wanted all his info I'm really nervous because I'm 5 weeks pregnant and really need health coverage
I am not on medicare yet since I still work. I have a part A card but have not applied for part B or part C etc, since I use my work health insurance. Later this year I plan to retire. I could get laid off before then so I am trying to get things in order. For those on medicare or not do you have any advice should treatment become necessary in the future?

Medicare Part D covers drugs. Not the supplement plan. The supplement covers the 20% the Medicare doesn't pay (Hospital, doctors, labs, etc) that is now paid for by Medicaid.
You need both a Medicare supplement (if you don't want to pay the 20% for hospital and doctor's costs). Plus a Part D drug plan.
What Part D plan is available to you is based on where you live. You should research what Part D plans are available and then get a copy of their latest formulary.
If you have Medicare and Medicaid, you will usually get your drugs covered by the Medicare prescription drug benefit (Part D) and the Extra Help program. Extra Help is the federal program that pays for most of the costs of Medicare drug coverage if you meet the eligibility requirements. In some limited cases, Medicaid may cover drugs that Medicare does not cover.
As long as you have Medicare Part D your drugs will be covered.

I am signing up for Medicare and discovered my contribution on Copaxone will be approximately $5000 a year. On my old insurance my payment was $600 a year. Living on a fixed income I won't be able to continue Copaxone if I don't find help, shared solutions doesn't help with people on Medicare. Anyone have this problem?
Besides Liver Transplant Centers (where you MUST be treated to have your cirrhosis and portal hypertension managed) usually take both Medicaid and Medicare for payment so there is no advantage to Medicare. In fact Medicare is very expensive. You say you have one doctor. Any one doctor can NOT treat all of your health conditions and certainly not your liver disease. You will have to make sure the liver transplant center takes Medicaid. This should be the first think you do.
Patient made decision to treat his anaplastic astrocytoma with surgery and Temodar only. No radiation! What is the prognosis for this 33 yr.old male.
Since the diagnosis of Glioblastoma grade 4 in August, my husband has had the tumor removed and completed the round of radiation and chemotherapy - temodar. Recently I have noticed him being very short fused and argumentative. The slightest thing sets him off as if he had been personally attack. I have also noticed depression setting in. I'm assuming this is all part of the treatment and diagnosis.
(Dont hate me) but I work for a health insurance company and I actually am a Medicare Specialist, unfortunately I too have seen the decrease in services being paid by Medicare(referring to original Medicare) in the past 8 years that I have been working with my (yes, i call them all MY members because i love them all so much) Medicare members.
If you don't mind me asking, are u on original Medicare? Or on a Senior Advantage plan or do u have a supplement? What state do u live in?
Medicare is a huge scam, no agency will help you with any problems with a Medicare HMO EXCEPT Medicare and that is a huge conflict of interest and has created a vastly corrupt Medicare system. I filed 27 complaints about this HMO over the past two years and Medicare has done NOTHING except lie about saying they contacted me when they didn't.
