Tamsulosin when to take

Common Questions and Answers about Tamsulosin when to take

flomax

Avatar f tn So now to my question, the urologist wants me to take two medications - generic names are tamsulosin 0.4mg and meloxicam 15mg. These were perscribed in place of Flomax and Celebrex in the hopes of reducing the inflammation and opening the neck of the bladder to release the urine now being held in my bladder. Should I take these meds even though the Flomax (tamsulosin) is not approved for women? Also considering my past medical history Im scared to take either meds, should I?
Avatar f tn A doctor prescribed Amoxicillin 625mg + Tamsulosin medicine for 10 days to me. I have a side effect after taking Tamsulosin (Retrograde ejaculation) or any other ejaculation problem. Is this normal or should I stop using Tamsulosin? Or will it (Retrograde ejaculation ) recover after stop using ten days? Should I keep getting Tamsulosin for 10 days or stop?
Avatar m tn can l take these pills together NEXUM 40MG 1 IN THE AM TAMSULOSIN = FLOMAX .
Avatar n tn Ask a pharmacist. When it comes to drug interactions, they are usually far more knowledgeable than doctors, and have databases in which to look up interactions. It's good to ask the prescribing doctor too (and if you don't have a viagra prescription already, definitely tell your doctor about ALL medications and supplements you take).
1831849 tn?1383228392 I saw my urologist he other day and she said that she now like Rapaflo (slidosin) more than Flomax (tamsulosin) for urinary hesitancy. Both are designed to address benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). I know the primary audience is men, but there are women who take tamsulosin for urinary hesitancy. I was taking the max dose of tamsulosin, .8mg/day. I'm now taking 8mg Rapaflo/day. I'm told that it will take 4-5 days to see the full benefit if Rapaflo and I'm now on day 3.
Avatar f tn For kidney pain you may take a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug such as ibuprofen or naproxen .Few doctors also recommend Tamsulosin to speed the passage of stones. The size and location of ureter stones are the most important factors for predicting the spontaneous passage of the stone. Lithotripsy is a good option for stones 1 cm or less in the kidney and upper ureter. Consult a nephrologist for more queries and assistance. Hope it helped. Best luck and regards!
Avatar m tn In animal models, it was shown to affect testes size and shape. It very well could be the flomax. But worth it to reduce the prostate. Any ejaculation issues?
Avatar f tn Now the other day when I was on the medicine I was able to ejaculate fine and everything was running good? Think it's the Flomax Subst-? Also for a second question on here, is it normal for my pain to be in the crotch area with a burning irregular feeling with the kidney stone? I was told that means it is passing by someone who has had them before but I figured I might get a more professional answer on here for it.
Avatar n tn Which after a month and a half now is really starting to become difficult to deal with. I’m trying to keep busy which helps to take my mind off it but I’m really worried this will never go away. As I said I had a full STD test done and it came back negative. However I have had another done last week just to make sure nothing was missed and I’ll get the results in a few days.
Avatar m tn At 65 I was told I was "late" in getting BPH, but as anyone knows, better late but not better than never with this one. Anyway, I have tried Epsom Salt baths and UrinoZinc, as I did not like Tamsulosin at all. It made my breathing labored, and I don't like the idea of Retrograde Ejaculation. I have had painful external orgasms and urination, and although my enlargement is not that bad-the Urologist told me it was .5 and had others at 1 and 1.
Avatar n tn This problem is usually treated with the use of oral analgesics(pain killers) and tamsulosin is thought to play an important role in the relief of the pain and unfortunately how tamsulosin produces a relief is also not known. I’ll suggest you to discuss the same with your urologist. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn I've been taking tamsulosin for 3 or 4 years now after my urologist prescribed it for BPH. I've slowly started having leakage issues lately where I will have a strong sudden urge to urinate and have a difficult time holding it until I can get to a toilet. Sometimes some urine leaks out and other times the urge will pass and I can wait before racing to the toilet.
Avatar m tn 8 mg/d of the alpha-blocker tamsulosin but good on flow. I am scared to death to be heading to a TURP for side effects but on the other side very concerned PVR is damaging my bladder due to BPH. Should an 5-alpha reductase be tried with tamsulosin prior to try the surgery? Experience please !! I keep supplementing with saw palmetto, betasitosterol, stinging nettle, pigeum, lycopene, etc ...
Avatar m tn Does Tamsulosin 0.4 Mg cause Ed?
Avatar f tn chlamydia was tested and negative...i don't believe bph or trichomoniasis were tested...the tamsulosin was to try and loosen bladder neck to try and alleviate symptoms...
Avatar f tn Hi i experience frequent urination urge and urine retention and tamsulosin quite help me but symptoms still persist.
Avatar f tn Yes I think it could due to minor tearing of soft tissue. At least you have found the stone. You can take drinks and that help dissolve renal calculi. Pharmaceutical and also natural such as Apple cider vinegar one teaspoon per day max. Tamsulosin can also help pass stones.
Avatar m tn In the mean time, while regularly consulting urologists, testing PSA, its velocity, doubling time and free %,, having lower abdomen scanning (CT and ultrasonography) I developed symptoms of BPH mainly shown as a very important post void residual (PVR, increasing from 100-200 to about 500mL). I am prescribed tamsulosin 0.4mg/d and doubling dose to 0.8mg/d but PVR remains very high and considering TURP or similar.

Avatar m tn This may cause blood pressure to fall excessively and heart rate to increase, especially when you rise from a sitting or lying position. The risk of other side effects such as dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, headache, flushing, nasal congestion, heart palpitations, and priapism (prolonged and painful erection unrelated to sexual activity) may also increase.
