So now to my question, the urologist wants me to take two medications - generic names are tamsulosin 0.4mg and meloxicam 15mg. These were perscribed in place of Flomax and Celebrex in the hopes of reducing the inflammation and opening the neck of the bladder to release the urine now being held in my bladder. Should I take these meds even though the Flomax (tamsulosin) is not approved for women? Also considering my past medical history Im scared to take either meds, should I?

The pharmacist gave me a different brand of generic ribavirin and pointed that out. I may be wrong but I thought I read or heard that one should stick w/ the same generic brand. Anyone know?

All issues resolved after discontinuing the generic. FDA did find some substandard practices with the company manufacturing the generic. This is what I found after some research: FDA regulations require generics to have the same active ingredients, be bioequivalent, and have a high purity. Inactive ingredients do not have to be the same and the generic can never look like the brand name.

They put the brand in a bright purple capsule with yellow stripes and the generic in a dull, uninteresting white capsule. In the early days of generics - the 80's - there was some problem with a few generics in some meds. It had to do with proper dissolving and delivering the med to the body. This is still true in a few pediatric meds that are in solution. Nowdays, there should be no difference at all like Jen says.

You need to find out why not 20/20 BEFORE the capsule turned cloudy and why color not as good. If the capsule is really cloudy probably do Yag capsulotomy first then do work up. Your surgeon should have done that after the RE was operated on.

My amoxicillin capsules are made out of yellow food dye. My pharmasit told me that I open the capsule and take just the powder. The problem is the strong taste of the powder makes me gag.what can I do ?

Is that the size of any of your pills? Exposing them to water wouldn't be the same process as exposing them to your digestive tract. In your pics, the one where you've dissolved them in water, the lower right one looks to be a similar color. Is that a pill or a capsule? If it's a pill, I don't think it would have turned into a capsule, but it might be a capsule that didn't dissolve.
