s biopsy and lab numbers clearly show him heading down the road to fibrosis and cirrohsis, would it make sense to push for trying the new drugs at least the approved ones for non-transplant such as teleprevir and bocepavir? Otherwise the patient is looking at another transplant which would seem to be quite a negative option.
i wouldnt lower the tacrolimus dose further
The specialist reviewed all of the options with us - cyclosporine, pilocarpine or tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said that very rarely has she seen any dog respond to cyclosporine after not responding to tacrolimus. She also said that because our dog doesn't have a dry, goopy nose, that pilocarpine wouldn't be a first choice. She recommended a mix of tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said sirolimus is new. I have not been able to find anything about this drug on the internet.
can I use flax seed oil for eye drops for my dog? We have tried antibiotics, tacrolimus, and all over the counter drops but nothing seems to help, someone suggest flax seed oil but will only try this if I know it will not harm her in any way.
Not so sure about tacrolimus. Look at the law offices looking for people treated with tacrolimus creams. Still some concern out there about serious side effects. Don't forsee approval anytime soon in U.S.
As a side note, have your doctor look for demodex follicularis. Some research indicates that they can worsen lid margin disease.
I had my first session of laser hair removal for lower legs yesterday and after a few hours my legs started itching. The itch was so bad that I couldn't help not to scratch them and today I noticed red spots all over my lower legs. The red spots look like rash and are itchy. I'm worried that the laser might have burned my skin. Dose anybody knows if this is normal or I should stop laser hair removal treatment?
there are prograf assistance programs that the company offers. If this is not feasible than using other cheaper medications such as verapamil for example for HTN for example will alllow much lower doses of prograf to be used (it delays metabolism of the medication) and thus it comes out cheaper.
Hormonal contraceptives such as the pill and the patch may increase the blood level of tacrolimus. Tacrolimus may also reduce the effectiveness of these hormonal contraceptives. For this reason women who could get pregnant should ideally use a non-hormonal method of contraception, eg condoms, to prevent pregnancy while taking this medicine. Seek advice from your doctor or pharmacist.
My dog received tacrolimus for dry eye and I have no doubt in my mind whatsoever that is caused his Transitional cell carcinoma/bladder cancer.
He was also put on Piroxicam to try to manage the tumor, but he succumbed to the cancer 1 year after being diagnosed.
I urge anyone reading this thread to take the risks of tacrolimus seriously and if you have one of those vets that *assures* you of its safety, I would find a different vet.

I love pit bulls and for the most part they are great dogs with kids, but when they make you nervous about your kids, its best to get rid of them instead of waiting to see if he will harm your baby. I had two pit bulls and one was the sweetest thing you had ever seen. He only got mean when someone was being violent in front of him or he didn't know you. He loved kids and other dogs. The other one was horribly mean. She hated everyone except for me. And hated other animals.
m really concerned about right now is introducing the baby to the pets. I have two cats and a dog. The dog is very protective, so I think she will be ok, and my younger cat is pretty laid back. But my older cat tried to reject the other two animals when they came home. It took six months to have her in the same room as the dog without attacking. I'm not sure how she's going to react to baby, but my family has been warned...
I have two 30lbs cat thatvr currently sleeping in the bassinet. No point in me telling them no when im not around theyll go in anyways lol i just let them do as they please.
She went from sleeping through the night and behaving to being up all night and crying for no reason. I believe its because of the baby... We ended up having to give her to someone else it got so bad. We live in an apartment and couldn't keep her acting out like that.... I miss her so much...
I've always been a huge animal lover! My cat and dog have been like my children for years now. This is my first pregnancy, and in about 3 and a half months, I'll birth two baby girls. My boyfriend wants me to get rid of my animals beforehand. This is extremely hard for me. I mean, I want to compromise, but at the same time, I know that it'll be hard to afford twins and pets. Has anyone else had to make that ultimate sacrifice?
Has anybody else have their pets become extremely clingy to them? I am just over 6 weeks and my animals are very clingy to me.
