She was taking cyclosporin dosage of 100mg BD, which was increased after 10 days(January 4, 2010) to 150/100mg bid . her SGOT/SGPT level started rising from December 28, 2009 they started fluctuating till Feb 8,2010.
As you will remember my daughter underwent bone marrow transplant for thalassemia major and she was diagnosed to be HCV positive. Initially in her pre BMT checkup she underwent HCV qualitative which was negative. After her BMT suddenly her viral load started increasing. HCV quantitative done on 25.March 2010 was 1,21,00000 IU/ML. HCV quantitative done on 04 October.2010 was 14,20000 IU/ML
The latest one done on January 3, 2011 is 135016 IU/ml.
Presence of antibodies which means that she got infected but recovered (as told by my doctor). BMT done. now doctors have opinion that the HCV got reactivated due to use of immunosuppresant. Met two gastroenterologist, both have divergent views regarding interferon treatment. Neither of them had previously treated post BMT case. Guys! i am totally confused if you have some gastroenterologist in your circle who can gave his opinion regarding our situation i will be highly obliged.

My daugher is a 14 year old exthalassemic who underwent BMT in November 2009. She was found to be HCV positive prior to BMT and she underwent liver biopsy and HCV RNA Qualitative test. The result of biopsy was Grade IV iron overload, mild portal and focal periportal fibrosis, and focal mild to moderate portal inflammation.(HCV positive). The result of RNA qualitative was Not detected.During BMT she had moderate veno occlusive disease and she recovered.
In 2009 i was diagnose Blood cancer(AML) and in 2010 i got bone marrow transplant(BMT) for it, right now my report related to Serum Bilirubin is normal but from there till now my OT/PT never stable some time it comes with in range of 45 also. i'm non alcoholic, non smoker, kindly advice me what precaution in should i take to keep my OT/PT control either in diet or else any. waiting for ur reply. I have had touches of nausea. My bmt temps were up for a few days but then fell below coverline. Was on progesterone creme but went off( except by symptoms). Could I be pregnant or just hormonally off. Also pee is yellow and strong smelling at times, have small outbreak on face. My Dr. thinks I have PCOS.

The specialist reviewed all of the options with us - cyclosporine, pilocarpine or tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said that very rarely has she seen any dog respond to cyclosporine after not responding to tacrolimus. She also said that because our dog doesn't have a dry, goopy nose, that pilocarpine wouldn't be a first choice. She recommended a mix of tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said sirolimus is new. I have not been able to find anything about this drug on the internet.

His cretanine is almost 1.4 or around. My question is that should he continue his TACROLIMUS tablets or should switch to some other tablets which are safe for kidneys?
Secondly , in my sorrounding there is an opinion that lowering the TACROLIMUS dose also let the liver enzymes to increase? Do you favour such opinions as my father has lowered his tacrolimus dose to keep his kidneys safe?

s hard to perform my job or other daily tasks when my eyelids are so inflamed. I guess steroids are the only option until they develop something better. Is Tacrolimus a promising nonsteroidal option?

there are prograf assistance programs that the company offers. If this is not feasible than using other cheaper medications such as verapamil for example for HTN for example will alllow much lower doses of prograf to be used (it delays metabolism of the medication) and thus it comes out cheaper.
Hey ladies I was wondering all you clomid gals what days and dosage of clomid you took and what day you O'd on. I am 9 days past my last clomid pill (taken cd 4-8 50 mg) and still haven't gotten a positive OPK. I was testing my BMT and I had a spike yesterday and drop today so according to that I would have O'd yesterday or the day before.

i would be extremely cautious about using it until more data is available especially since its purported effects on tacrolimus and cyclosporine metabolism are extreme. i am quite confident that there will be clinical trials coming down the road extremely soon.
