ve had chronic ttp (3 episodes, 1988,92,97) and a splenectomy. I did the treatment w/Ribavarin and IntronA for 48 weeks about 10 yrs ago...then tried the Peg/Riba combo twice for a couple of months but had to stop because of side effects and depression.
It did not affect my TTP at all...didn't have a reoccurence of the TTP so I wouldn't worry about it. How many times have you had the TTP? It's a nasty disorder...
I'm unsure what topic this goes in so I posted here as part of woman's health. For appox a month I have been having some left breast issues (swellon red nipples, milky discharge, pain on the upper left breast, nipple pain) and 3 days ago I woke up to pain from my left armpit to breast. I made an appt with my doctor and seen her yesterday. She said she didn't feel anything but wanted me to go get a mammogram done and bilateral u.s done which I have on the 29th.
My opth has diagnosed me with blepharitis, I use sterilid w/ compresses and take flaxseed oil, and I also use preservative free eyedrops for moisture. However nothing has worked to my satisfaction besides tobradex which I've used for about a year and half- my eyelid inflammation is pretty severe even with the other treatments, however w/ tobradex my symptoms are almost nonexistent.
i wouldnt lower the tacrolimus dose further
A male family member age 52 diagnosed with MS approximately 15 years ago. Over the last two years he has not been ambulatory, but has had an adequate quality of life until last November '08. He was admitted emergently and found to have TTP...Platelets were at 19....he eventually improved on Plasmaphoresis and discharged to a skilled nursing unit for continued therapy. He then returned home to the care of his wife with what was a Stage III decubitis ulcer....
(interestingly though, a few days before at the vet, the schirmer test was 12 in both eyes). Now 6 weeks later, the right eye has a 6 and the left eye still has 0. The specialist reviewed all of the options with us - cyclosporine, pilocarpine or tacrolimus with sirolimus. She said that very rarely has she seen any dog respond to cyclosporine after not responding to tacrolimus.
Had unprotected sex around the end of August, since have had some red almost pimple like bumps on my pubic region. Nothing on my genitals or penis itself. Have not had any itchiness or pain and they have been around for awhile without going away. Getting a little worried now because I think a few more have developed. Does this sound like herpes or something else?
The treatments of this condition are application of topical corticosteroids (betamethasone, clobatesol, flucinolone) which will reduce the inflammatory process. Topical immunomodulators like pimecrolimus and tacrolimus can be used in severe conditions.

IN YOUR EXPERIENCE,CAN MY SITUATION BE IMPROVED?THANKS.
No you ovulate after your period in between finishing and ending. Your best going and getting the ovulation tests and seeing were you are. or just keep 'going at it' about 11 ays after you stop bleeding for about 5 days about. ttp://www.maybe-baby.com/gallery/images/1144828120Cycle.jpg take a look at this. Yep, the bone marrow test was NOT fun! Here is an article on ITP and HCV to check out...doesn't everyone diagnosed w/ITP or TTP has to have this test to confirm the body is even producing the platelets...it was the first thing they did when my platelets began to crash...before the TTP diagnosis.

i would be extremely cautious about using it until more data is available especially since its purported effects on tacrolimus and cyclosporine metabolism are extreme. i am quite confident that there will be clinical trials coming down the road extremely soon.
I had chemo and radiation, which lead to TTP (blood disease). Kidney failure and congestive heart failure and many other issues. I spent almost a year in the hospital. went from 172 lbs down to 95 lbs. they had give me up to die. but for some reason I am still here. Thank God! So please don't delay having your issue checked out!
