s not on any meds except for symbicort turbuhaler which she uses twice daily day and night. She woke up in the middle of last night and vomitted. She felt her heart was throbbing hard. What you describe is probably being caused by the inhaled steroid (ICS) in these 2 preparations fluticasone in the Advair® and budesonide in the Symbicort®. And, it may be dose related, so that the first step would be for you and your doctor to consider reducing the strength of the ICS. You may be able to get optimum therapeutic benefit, with diminished side-effects, at the lower dose.
Its Advair and Symbicort. I am hoping they will send him to a pulmonologist who might be more forth coming with info. He probably just has a mild case and I'd like to keep it that way. Except we don't know how severe it is because, hey, I guess that is another of the dr.s secrets. Aggravating.

Today I saw specialist about my asthma and he told me my chest is tight and gave me Symbicort Turbuhaler. I looked all the information I could on the inhailer, but I am still unsure what he means by my chest is tight.
When my asthma bothered me as a child I was too off in my own world to understand what it meant. I just knew my mum told me I had to use this puffer. So my self knoweledge on asthma is not that great.

I am regularly using Ventloin, Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC. The only problem is breathlessness arising from throat tightness. I never wheeze in the life. The throat tightness is getting reduced when i take Ventolin. The doctor say i don't have to take ventolin beacause Fomertrol+budesonide and Motelukast+LC. will prevent the difficulty. But only medicines which seems to be working is Ventolin and Motelukast+LC.
I am on a beta blocker and because of the dry cough, my GP prescribed me with asthma medications (the Symbicort Turbuhaler). I hope you feel better soon, and please keep me posted on your findings.

I have been given Symbicort Turbuhaler after short examination. I am suspecting a GERD componet with this as well, since I get breathless after eating. I have heard you can get Asthma from GERD.

You and he/she will have to resort to other preparations, to include a different inhaled steroid, such as Flovent® HFA Inhalation Aerosol (fluticasone propionate), either alone or in combination with a long-acting bronchodilator, like Serevent® Inhalation Aerosol (salmeterol xinafoate) or Foradil® Aerolizer™ (formoterol fumarate inhalation powder), such a combination being either Advair® HFA (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Aerosol or Symbicort® (budesonide/formoterol fumarat
You should have another follow-up x-ray, now. The prescription of Symbicort® (budesonide/formoterol fumarate dehydrate) Inhalation Aerosol does not mean you have asthma. It only means that your doctor suspects that you might have it.
Given that it is now nearly 4 months since the bout of pneumonia, you deserve further diagnostic evaluation by a lung specialist.
A similar drug, Formoterol (Combined with the inhaled steroid, Budesonide, in the drug Symbicort) while in the same class, might not have the same properties and perhaps might not exhibit the same cardiac stimulatory effect as Serevent. You might want to discuss this with your doctor.
Another approach might be to avoid these two combination drugs, Advair and Symbicort, and substitute individual inhalert for each of the two drugs (the inhaled steroid and the beta-agonist).
t really make a diagnosis and prescribed me with some sort of nasal spray, insisted that I take anti-histamine to rule out allergies, and also prescribed me Symbicort, Budesonide/formoterol. After 10 days treatment, the breathing issues became agitated.
The last doctor suggested referral to a specialist, I'm not entirely sure of which one, something to do with throat and breathing.
First of all, let me advise that if you are a young person, please be cautious of letting yourself be put on Cordisteroid inhalers such as symbicort and advair. Once you have been on those inhalers getting off of them is life-threatening. I never really believed that I had severe asthma but had been put on advair many years ago. Recently I was switched from advair to Wixela as a generic replacement. After only two Puffs off of this I began coughing.
The puffer contained Symbicort turbuhaler 200UG, it seemed to help. Any suggestions to what might be causing this and what could help me in the meantime until I see a doctor?
Though in the past year or so, I have been almost normal. For this problem, I was prescribed Rhinocort Turbuhaler (commercial name) budesonide powder made by Astra Zeneca. I normally apply it at least once a day, sometimes I skip if I feel very good.
My situation goes back almost 1 week ago when I woke up with a stuffy nose and I thought that I had a bad episode of rhinitis. I took me 2 advil cold and sinus Plus (with antihestamine).
I have had breathing tests that shows my lung capacity is 65%. I just started to take Symbicort. Could the Symbicort be raising my blood pressure, or is it all in my head? When I take my BP a couple of hours after taking Symbicort its high.

Crestor 40mg
Amlodine 5mg
Synthroid .250mcg
Lisinopril 40mg twice a day
Zolpidem 10mg
Metoprolol 50mg one & 1/2 pills twice a day

I am a diabetic on oral meds. Some months ago I started taking Symbicort inhaler for asthma. Since then my blood sugar is soaring.
What can I do.
I had a month or so on Entecort (budesonide here in England) but had a severe rectal haemorrhage and was hospitalised on IV steroids and needed blood transfusions. I don't think my gastro in England, who prescribed it, at the time realised that Entecort only works in the small intestine, and I had Pan Crohn's Colitis. As I had stopped prednisone to go onto budesonide, I had no protection in the colon, hence the flare.

I have been taking symbicort for about 8 months and in that time i notice that my weight has gone up by around 1 stone (14llbs), i have never been overweight and have always eaten healthily and taken exercise. No matther how many times i go to the gym or how much salad i eat it wont go away. None of my clothes fit me and i have gone up a bra size or two.
