superfoods to increase egg quality

3 and am undergoing IVF treatments and each time after strong FSH doses for stimulation I get one very good fertilized egg ( blastocyst). I think my eggs quality is not good so what can I do to get more then one good fertilized egg? is there any medications or herbs or food diet to improve eggs quality?

My RE suggests going to IVF for she feels the chances of selecting a higher quality egg will increase my chance of a healthier embryo. Can you tell me if you agree? And, do you have any understanding of what my chances are for a successful pregnancy? we are worried about multiples. What are the statistics for multiples with IVF? I dont think we would be capable to "select", but I dont think we are interested in twins. Please provide any advice/alternatives and thank you.

thank you so much for your thoughts regarding doctors etc, I really dont think that there is any hope for this pregnancy as my numbers only doubled in 6 days and they are way to low for nearly 6 wks, only 800, its a shame as this little bean stuck through what I thought was my period on 19 Oct which was heavy and lasted a full 8 days, I never even realised I was pregnant and only took a test because I had on left in my ovulation pack, but its obviously due to egg quality as was my other 2 miscar

There's a woman on the pregnancy 35+ forum who's taking DHEA to improve her FSH score. I've heard of it improving egg quality but there's hardly any information or study out there to really prove it. Ask your re about it - other than that, there's very, very little to be done to improve egg quality - it's linked mostly to age.

In my expereicen, I understand that we cant do much about improving egg quality, though as a human effort we can try accupunture, DHEA, multi vitamins, wheat grass, maca, fish oil omega and etc, nothing helped me. having said that, what were the basis that your doctor concluded that ovaries are not "as expected", what are your FSH, AMH and LH levels?

I had my egg retrieval on Tuesday and I'm going tomorrow (Friday) for the transfer. Out of 22 eggs, only 6 fertilized. She said that many follicles didn't have an egg. I'm trying to be optimistic with 6 eggs. She said that all of them fragmented a bit. I know this isn't a good thing, she said most likely they won't be able to freeze them because of this, but they can still be implanted. Has anybody had success with fragmented eggs?

High FSH level is just a marker of poor egg quality. Since you have a borderline high FSH level, there are chances that you can conceive with Assisted Reproductive technology.Lupron is an injectable GnRH analog it decreases FSH and LH levels. It is used in Assisted Reproduction techniques like before an intrauterine insemination or in vitro fertilization. Sperm motility may be decreased due to tobacco intake, smoking, low intake of zinc etc.In such cases intrauterine insemination may help.

If your Dr are worried about quality then im not sure IUI would assist, as they just insert the sperm into the uterus so you dont know if its a good or bad egg, to ensure quality you would need IVf (more $ again). Not that IUI wouldnt work, just doesnt guarentee quality. Have you tried herbal suppliments, you should be able to get something from the chemist.

Are there any vitamins or foods that enhance egg production? If so what can I do to increase the chance of getting pregnant?

I was told today to stop taking gonal F and I was diagnosed with "poor egg quality or decreased ovary reserves". I've had 9 days of 150IU Gonal F injections and only three follicles developed. There has been little to no increase is size (around 7, 8 and 9cm) of follicles from three days ago. My options were given as egg donation or adoption at this point.

Since mine is double (400 for only two eggs) does that increase the quality of my egg, which in turn does this increase the chance of fertilization and implantation? Please help! t make your eggs better quality per se. As Helen said, it can increase time to allow a more mature follice. It can extend a Lp and can give a general indication of egg qualtiy. What it did for me was produce more follices to increase the odds of catching one of the good eggs. The second round did result in a bfp, but it turned early mc, too. I think it's a great drug and wish I could have stayed on it. It caused cysts for me and I had to quit. I am currently on round #1 of Femarra.

Medication will not get your ovulation on track, but you may benefit from assisted reproduction with or without a donor egg if ovarian reserve (that is to say egg age) is a major concern. Best regards, Dr.

But I have read that folic acid strengthens the actual egg too, not just the embryo. So could MTHFR have been effecting my egg quality at the time of ovulation - before conception???

Hi Everyone...my RE prescribed Menopur as part of my protocol. I had my egg retrieval yesterday (10/23) and got 13 eggs. Just received a call that only 5 fertilized. My transfer is scheduled for day three (10/26). Has anyone found Menopur to be helpful for improving egg quality?
