5097121 tn?1466787392 When our bodies are feeling good, we usually feel good emotionally, so in turn, taking care of your body is very beneficial for stress management, for instance, getting a sufficient quantity AND quality of sleep, eating properly (including a healthy/balanced diet), staying active. Staying away from things like smoking, drinking, overindulging with food are a given. Minimizing intake of things like caffeine is a good idea. ---->Additionally, we have to set REALISTIC daily goals.
905378 tn?1244854365 Drs can only guess according to statistics (which by the way when you recieve statistics for 5 years, you must remember that those statistics are now at least 5 years old) And though the statistics are on the low side, we are all capable of being in that minority. Almost 2 years after I was diagnosed, my Drs informed me that at the time, he did not think that I was going to make it through the years end. That was 3 1/2 years ago and I am still feeling better now than I was then.
Avatar f tn Stress can hurt the baby but it takes a lot to. Me and my boyfriend fight so bad all the time now bc I'm so hormonal! I get cramps afterwards sometimes but other then that everything is okay with the baby. Its normal to get crazy every now and then especially being pregnant now!
Avatar f tn Hello, so my husband and I have been ttc for a few months. I seem to stay stress free for the first few weeks of my cycle but when it comes time for my period or I should say a few days prior I start really stressing. Worrying if it will come or not. The most noticeable symptom is its screwing with my cycles. First month trying I was 4 days late, next month 2 days early, and now I'm very lightly spotting a day before I'm supposed to start which in 12 years has never happened.
Avatar f tn hi i'm new to the group and happy to find some info on IC. I have had out infections my whole life or so i thought! 2 yrs. ago i had another doctor for a few months while mine was on maternity leave after going in every 2 to 4 weeks with a uti she said "this is not normal and im going to start testing yr. urine."...all the further tests came back negative for bacteria but there is always blood and protein in my urine. So she said i have IC and there is no known cure....
Avatar m tn I understand a 3 month test is needed. I have read some doctors here explain risk using some statistics, and I was wondering if anyone could estimate my risk. A low number would help alleviate my stress while waiting for the conclusive result. I always used protection in the past, and have decided to stop drinking due to the nature of this bad decision. Have a wonderful day.
Avatar m tn I don't think there are any good accurate statistics available. Stent implantation and design are continually changing. I don't believe that any medication exists which would help to reduce a 95% blockage, or millions of people in different countries would be using them. I think they were wise to use stents in your circumstance, it was a single vessel issue, not multiple vessels. I always think it's best to have the least risk procedure first, then bypass at a later date if required.
572651 tn?1530999357 The authors speculate about why the benefits of the stress management treatment did not last beyond the 24-week treatment period. One possibility they point out is that participants may require longer treatment to learn to maintain the stress-reducing behaviors on their own.
Avatar n tn My son has nocturnal seizures now for 8 years. Was originally diagnosed with migraines which eventually turned into complex partials over a course of 2 years. He rarely has seizures during wake hours, typically just an hour or so before he wakes up. He makes a squeeling noise just seconds prior and then goes into a tonic phase for up to a minute.
Avatar m tn It is possible to continue to have a stress fracture over months when it is not given due attention and appropriate care. Conservative management of stress fracture should aim at movement restriction and non-weightbearing for atleast 6-8 weeks, while stressful activities should be resumed gradually after 12-16 weeks. The duration of rest would also depend on the severity of the fracture and the healing response. For severe or non-healing fractures, surgery may need to be considered.
Avatar f tn I recently had a stress test and was told that the results were not clear. My cardiologist suggests a 64 slice coronary ct to rule out blockages. I had no pain or symptoms while on the treadmill. He said that it may be purely anatomical as women's breast tissue can complicate the reading of the pictures. Coincidentally, my left breast was radiated for 8 weeks due to intraductal carcinoma 19 years ago. Could this effect the pictures?
1831849 tn?1383228392 The last paragraph of the USA Today article says the same. A group of people were taking stress management and then stopped. When they stopped their # of lesions increased. And yet in the beginning of the article there's this: ""In the past it has been felt, mostly without evidence, that stress can worsen MS, meaning life stresses can bring on attacks," says Ransohoff. "This doesn't seem to be the case.
Avatar n tn I am curious what the statistics are for false positives in igg hsv2 testing and how accurate they are. Thanks! I can't seem to find them anywhere.
