The symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, low grade fever up to 100 degrees and possible cramps are caused by many things, virus or bacterial. However, the most common cause is a virus called Norovirus. It is spead from person to person by fecal oral contamination.

Whoo-yeah... Viruses can bring on a mini-flare. I had one after my bout with bronchitis. I suppose it was inevitable - I had a fever for four days. I got better, then a couple of days later, started feeling really loopy. Didn't last for more than two days, fortunately.

Been having a bad stomach virus for over a week with Terrible diarrhea my stomach feela like sour milk! Im drinking loads and loads of water to keep hydrated. But im nervous. If it could harm my baby having such a sour stomach? ?

( On top of that got the flu shot yesterday so I am achy from that too and I haven't ate but once today bc food sounds horrid. Anyone else going through this while pregnant?

Ya, me either...if the vet wouldn't have told me I wouldn't have believed it...or maybe he's not a very good vet? Same guy that gave Sheba drops for ear mites without even looking or doing a swab...so who knows? Think I'll call the Kennel Club tomorrow and ask them.

I got a stomach virus so I've been prescribed ciprofloxacin (antibiotic) dicyclomine so I won't feel bloated all day and some stool softener, i felt better especially last night but yesterday's and today's morning feel a little nauseous when eating, A while later I feel better,, Today came from work ate some boiled eggs and crackers then took some dicylomine, felt a bit bad but not to bad, ate a banana felt really nauseous then dranked some of my non-lactose milk felt a bit bet

Hi. I recently had a nasty bout with the norovirus (stomach flu) which was a brutal 12 hours or so. After my stomach had settled I noticed while I was lying in bed that my heart rate was close about 108 - 120 bpm. Now my normal resting pulse rate is about 57-60 bpm. I did have a fever of about 100.1-100.5 degrees Fahrenheit. The advice nurse suggested I drink more fluids as dehydration could have been a cause.

I thought that i was getting better after a couple of days, but soon was awakened with a stomach flu in the middle of the night, I'm not throwing up anymore, but still have diarrhea and a very consistent pain in my abdomen, which I'm pretty sure is gas. Although i haven't been able to walk upright for long amounts of time without the pain becoming overwhelming its almost by my belly button but isn't stuck in one spot. Any help is appreciated.

If it only lasted a couple hours and not several days it was food poisoning...most people get it without even knowing it because they automatically label it as "stomach flu" if your doctor said 2 go if it doesn't go away I wouldn't worry about it if it's finally over with...

It is unusual for a stomach virus to cause such a high fever. I would be concerned for a bacterial infection which can be more serious. Good luck and I hope you feel better!

I have had the flu virus twice in the last few months ...it was really nasty I think you can just have the symptoms you describe ..I have a cough aswell but the aches are really bad, it seems like a new version of the flu .

Thanks for the response, I was worried because I read that it's typical to feel symptoms of the flu early on, since herpes is a virus. I read that diarrhea can occur too. When i looked up the flu virus, diarrhea didn't appear to be one of the symptoms. It is one of the symptoms for stomach flu, but from what I saw, not one of the flu. I don't think I have stomach flu though, since I didn't vomit or anything.

I donated blood a week ago and after that i have been having headaches, and flu symptoms.

My husband and I are both in our sixtys and for the past three years we have year around flu symptoms. The symptons are on and off but mostly on. The symptoms are always the same, up set stomach, muscle aches and pains and then very sleepy and spend days in bed,.Because of our age we thought it was a bad immune system and we tryed everything on the market to bolster our immune system but nothing worked.

To all,I dont want to over react to having flu symptoms. I am not on treatment, dont have any signifcant liver disease yet. This is the first time I have been sick since I found out I have hep c. of course I dont know how long I have had it. probably as long as 30 plus years. I am 51. The flu is a virus and should NEVER be treated with antibiotics. Viruses do not respond to antibiotics. Unfortunately many doctors have overprescribed antibiotics and this has caused antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria, otherwise known as superbugs. It is not uncommon to experience severe body aches and weakness with the viral flu. In fact, this is the common indicator that you have a virus and not a bacterial infection. Make sure to take lots of fluids and get plenty of rest.

You more than likely have the real flu, or a cold coupled with a stomach virus. Either way, a virus needs to just run its course unfortuantely.

I just battled the dreadful 24 hour stomach virus/flu. I was terribly sick on Monday with fever, vomiting, and diarrhea. Tuesday I suffered from weakness and really worked on gulping fluids and eating a bit more. Wednesday and today (Thursday), I've had awful bloating and mild stomach cramping. The bloating and gas are even work when laying down. Not only am I just uncomfortable, but I'm also self-conscious about my distended belly (not cute!).

This is a first for me. I have the stomach virus and it is 10 times worse than it ever has been. I am 11 weeks pregnant. I can't hold anything down not even water... does anyone have suggestions? I am in fear of dehydration at this point.

I went to a doctor and after feeling my stomach and doing some blood tests (which came back normal) she suspects some kind of stomach virus (like Adenovirus) and nothing alarming.. Im pretty worried tho.. Ive gone through all options from IBS to cancer but i dont know.. It seems likely it could be a virus tho.. What do you think?
