Common Questions and Answers about Stages of death in humans

death

Avatar f tn I'm living it right now and to be honest, I am aware of 5 to 7 steps or stages of the grief process, but they don't matter, because you survive one day at a time ....baby steps, and not time frame, since everyone heals at their own pace. It's been 2 years for me and I do feel better, but I am not yet completely healed...it takes a long time.
608208 tn?1220398134 I am not a doctor nor a therapist, but can relate to your intrusive thoughts of dying when in the face of all medical tests, you seem to be healthy. There are many different explanations for the death anxiety that you seem to be suffering from. Some are actual phobias and some are just normal fears that humans go through as they age.
668202 tn?1225471001 I think many of us deal with this sort of anxiety at one time or another in life. I had a HUGE fear of dying for awhile until I just had to accept the fact that it happens to all of us. It is one of the great equalizers that bonds us together as humans. So, whether you are or not a person of faith, living life to the fullest is very important while we are here. When I was going through this fear, I ended up talking with my preist and a therapist about it...
319532 tn?1250988576 Experimental Autoimmune Encephalomyelitis is what is being reversed. EAE is a model in mice for the different stages of demylating disease. So far no one can recreate MS in mice it it to complex. This is promising.
Avatar f tn Stage 1 is considered a small amount of fibrosis. Stages 2 and 3 is considered a greater amount of fibrosis or scarring meaning the disease has progressed. The more fibrosis the harder it is on the liver to carry out it's functions. As the damage progresses further, many scars can form together, which can lead to stage 4, or cirrhosis.
973741 tn?1342342773 re a sedentary person who basically only moves when you formally exercise, I will repeat, long-term studies that have been going on for decades of actual living humans in various communities around the world do not find formal exercise to be important to long life or healthy life.
Avatar n tn I send you my deepest sympathy. It is sad and hard to lose a member of your family, as I'm sure he was. He was a good dog I'm certain, and was well loved. I agree with your decision not to do a necropsy. I don't think I would want that done either, under the circumstances. Of course, without one, you would never know as an absolute fact, what he died of. He didn't suffer very long at the end, and that is a blessing I suppose.
Avatar n tn Unfortunately, in severe conditions, it can result in severe congestive heart failure or even in a cordae rupture (which is when the heart valve tears resulting in sudden death or severe congenstivei heart failure - where fluid builds up in the lungs). If there was blood on the carpet, it may have been from his lungs, but it's hard to tell without doing an autopsy. A sudden heart arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm) may also have caused his sudden death.
Avatar n tn My condolences to you on the loss of Delilah. It's difficult enough to say goodbye to dogs when they have lived to a ripe old age, but it's doubly difficult when the dog is still a youngster. There is nothing zoonotic (passable from dogs to humans) in terms of disease, so you don't have to worry about your baby picking up anything from her.
Avatar m tn We do know that sudden death does happen in humans and animals, and we are not implying any wrong doing by our vet (?), but this so very hard to understand.
Avatar f tn Sometimes an enlargement causes heart failure. In the advanced stages , failure has symptoms of varying degrees. Some people are incapacitated and find it hard to move around, but others can get by ok.
Avatar m tn Since his overall bone structure was so poor, there may have been something going on with his kidneys. Dogs (and humans) in renal failure can have these symptoms because calcium leaches out of the bones and the kidneys are unable to filter it. Failing kidneys may also explain the urinary tract infection and bleeding. I would assume the vets ran labs to check renal function but you never know. They may have assumed it was a simple UTI making further testing unnecessary.
Avatar f tn ago, why she has never been referred to a liver specialist. She is in Florida - Broward Co. My sister says her doctor is in a state of the art facility there and she feels she gets excellent care. I don't have much say in regards to my sister as she has never come clean with her diagnosis, but I know enough that she is turning a new corner in this condition and she should start taking things more seriously.

Avatar f tn 10 hours ago Posted by CNN's Gregory Wallace (CNN) - It took no advice from the Imperial Senate to reach this conclusion: the U.S. government won't be building a Death Star. A White House official responded Friday to an online petition on its website proposing the government turn what is “Star Wars” fiction into reality - you know, to boost the economy.
Avatar m tn The purpose of patents is to protect ideas that investigators hope to investigate. There is no credible evidence that I am aware of that FIV causes disease in humans. Please do not worry and do not worry about your cat, the possiblity of it infecting you or you infecting your girlfriend.
1646889 tn?1301481228 Love is love, not matter what. He was almost fifteen but seeing him in the final dying stages, and then die in front of us, and then have to bury him to spare our toddler son from seeing him dead when he woke up in the morning, was very very traumatic; and yes, very stressful. I have peace now, and my symptoms are starting to fade and I am feeling pretty good about now. Thanks again!
