Sonata versus ambien

Common Questions and Answers about Sonata versus ambien

sonata

Avatar m tn Ambien CR costs $200 versus $6 for the regular stuff. We did talk about it, and I wanted it, but at $200 a month it just ain't gonna happen. So I'm sticking with the Ambien for now. I don't really want to take higher dosages of temazepam. And like you say, getting off of ambien isn't that difficult, just a bit time consuming as you ramp down the dosage.
Avatar f tn It seems that every time I stop taking ambien for a few days and I'm feeling side effects. When I wake up my head is killing me, my kidneys are killing me, and I can't stop sudden movement. I have tried to stop several times though my doctors and with therapy but its like nothing works. I try to stick with it but if I have to deal with worst side effects. I can't believe I've been in this mess since '09 and I'm taking too many to even my prescriptions out.
Avatar m tn I'm no doctor, so I definitely can't give you any medical information on Ambien, but I can relay my personal experience with it. I've been on Ambien (currently 10mg) for SEVERAL years now (5 or more). I have many chronic pain conditions, including fibroymalgia. One of the major symptoms of fibro is insomnia - which I definitely suffer from!
Avatar f tn Have you tried Ambien or Sonata? I take Ambien (have been on it for about 4 years) - some nights it works well and others it's like I've taken a tic tac - but there are nights when nothing short of getting hit over the head with a hammer is going to help me sleep! I used to be on the CR version of the Ambien, until my insurance decided it wasn't going to cover that formula any longer, so now I'm back to the 10mg dose.
Avatar m tn My last refill for percocet was 10/19 and 12/09 for ambien and that was my plastic surgeon. My surgeon refused to give me anything else. He told me to find a PCP and I did 12/17 but this FNP isn't addressing my pain/insomnia effectively. On 12/17/10 she wrote me a script for indocin and benadryl. This didn't work so on 12/23/10 she wrote a questionable or I'm not sure who wrote it for sonata, percocet, and dicflonac.
1580703 tn?1651904887 ve discovered that to treat my crippling sleep breathing disease I need to use an alpha GABA agonist like klonopin or ambien. is there a medication that is even better like clorazapete or GABA acid OTC? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GABA_receptor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GABA_agonist what does this mean, which disease do I have? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I have 16 day clean from norco today, But these last couple nights I have not slept to well so I had to take an ambien to sleep. Now I feel like I just blew my 16 days clean.Boy,do I feel like an idoit.Because of the ambien do I have to start all over with my count?
Avatar n tn Hi while I was in treatment I took ambien and it got me maybe 3 hours at most. I had lot trouble sleeping and if I did sleep it was for very short periods of time. I took ambein for the last 4 months of my treatment. when I finished I took 1/2 pill till it was gone. maybe for a week with no addition but everyone is different. I took my rib at around 3 pm in afternoon but that did not seem to help either.
Avatar n tn Hi, As another 'nocturnal' person I can relate. I also use Ambien and Xanax (not together!). The Ambien will give me exactly 3 hours of sleep (sometimes it doesn't work) but it seems to be a fairly good quality of sleep. The xanax makes it easier for me to fall back asleep after I wake up but the sleep quality does not seem to be as good. Also, I am drowsy and groggy in the morning.
Avatar m tn I had those same symptoms and it was do to benzodiazepine drugs and Z-drugs (Ambien, Sonata and Lunesta)
Avatar n tn My doctor prescribed be Sonata which helps me sleep. This helps you get to sleep without becoming addicting like Ambien. I hope this helps!
Avatar m tn My Dr. has me on 20mg ambien (yes, a high dose). I had a Dr. suggest that I take 10mg when I go to bed, and then another 10mg when I wake up a few hours later. Does anyone have any comments about taking them several hours apart like that versus taking it all at once? The idea is that I would get more sleep, but the risk is that the after effects of it will be more pronounced the next day.
Avatar m tn Yah, I took all that junk at 12 and it's now 1300 and I'm about to keel over. Sonata or lunesta both work for me, ambien did too when that's what I could get. But only when mixed with the other stuff. Folks have told me that my 'cocktail' is going to make my liver fail and that that's a very painful death. The death part doesn't bother me, but I don't want my last awareness to be one of pain.
Avatar f tn I am week 14 dont sleep more than 4 hours in one night day time eyes wont shut physicall drained so very tired. I was given ambien at week 9 or so It is 10 milgram. I am at point i feel liek i am so wek even though I eat and drink ic ant go does this afect any one else.
Avatar n tn s generic brand for help with sleep (versus the standard Ambien, etc. and other 170 different OTC and RX that are available). I did not see Seroquel on the list and see that it is mainly for manic depression/ biopolar disorder, etc. Thanks.
Avatar m tn I've searched the web and here and no really good answer. I'm taking a Sonata about 3 or 4 oclock in the morning. It does cause some jitters next day. Now I've started Sam-e and a Super Beta Complex and the Jitters are unbearable. I take some Xanax and it helps some. I can't take much and still function. The question is ... Is it the Sam-e or the Super B Complex causing the extreme jitters or anxiety?
4333925 tn?1359102442 It is really normal to take a while to equilibrate and get back to normal. The interferon takes 3 months to clear from your system, and the ribavirin takes SIX months! Of course, it clears faster at the beginning, as long as you keep on drinking lots of water, so you should feel quite a bit better after about 3-4 weeks, but it takes 6 months to get it all out, and can take up to 12 months to fully recover.
Avatar f tn another option is to get your doctor to prescribe something specifically for insomnia such as ambien, sonata or trazodone. discuss over the counter options with him such as benadryl and others available. lastly, its great to hear YOU know what works best for YOU. don't discount that.
Avatar m tn I have been taking ambien almost night for 2 years.. I travel often and feel that I need it in order to maintian my and schedule. In the last few weeks I've I seem to be losing my short term memory, somethings I cant get words out correctlyl Holding a conversation with people I have known for a long time is a huge challenge when I lost in the middle of a sentance. Could this be an affect of ambien addtiction? If so, how do I get off of it?
Avatar m tn I'm seeing a doctor for a 10 year sleep problem. He swears by magnesium....loading me up on it to the eyeballs. So far, I haven't taken enough to get there, but it IS getting better, at least on most nights, I think. I do think the l-theanine amino acid is also a terrific natural sleep aid. I've heard about it all over the place and have seen many posts about it over the past year or so. As far as the ambien, ambien CR, lunesta, sonata, etc., don't even try them.
603015 tn?1329862973 You didn't say what you were on as a sleep aide. Sonata and Ambien are for short term use only. Lunesta can be used safely everyday. Rozerem works in the same manner as melatonin and actually adjusts the sleep cycle. That can be taken everyday and might get your sleep cycle more in order.
Avatar n tn Any treatment should be weighed in terms of risk versus benefit and this may be a personal decision. Our recommendation would be to discuss this with your oncologist as sometimes side effects can be managed or drugs could be changed so that there may be other options than quitting the tamoxifen.
382594 tn?1266610613 along with opiates, I was addicted to xanax or any other benzo(valium, librium, temezepam, clonazepam, lorazepam, triazolam etc.) and sleeping pills-ambien(zolpidem), sonata(zaleplon), and lunesta(epizopiclone) for two years as well. I would take the benzos with opaites to add to the effects or while withdrawling to ease it somewhat and i would take the sleeping pills to aid in sleeping while high and withdrawling as well.
