I've searched the web and here and no really good answer. I'm taking a Sonata about 3 or 4 oclock in the morning. It does cause some jitters next day. Now I've started Sam-e and a Super Beta Complex and the Jitters are unbearable. I take some Xanax and it helps some. I can't take much and still function.
The question is ... Is it the Sam-e or the Super B Complex causing the extreme jitters or anxiety?
Benzos are a bad remedy for insomnia, as they interfere with the brain's ability to learn how to adapt to stress and interfere with REM sleep, and of course are addictive with quite a withdrawal kick. Although you only used it for a short time, people are different in how they respond to quitting -- it should be done gradually even after short term use if that use was continuous as opposed to as-needed occasional use.
Anyway, when I took it to the pharmacy, all of the medications was controlled substances, percocet, sonata, and diclofenac. I was shcoked but the pharmacist tech already scanned it and I trust the FNP. I always go to this same pharmacy and never had a problem filling my prescriptions and my disabled problem. The pharmacist was even willing to fill the diclofenac at the time. I decline and told her I would pick them up Monday when all 3 were ready and I this didn't fill right.
The month before I got pregnant last year I downsized my soccer mom car to a Camry since I thought I was done with children in car seats. Now that I have to have a car seat again plus my nephew who is with me a lot of the time I'm thinking I might have to upgrade again. So I got my car all spiffed up. Detailed, new brakes, oil change. We'll see what I can come up with.
Anyway I have been with this replaced doctor for a yr and a half, I had been explaining to him that 2 vicaprofen in a 24 hour period is not sufficient he by the way had taken me off the motrin and changed my Xanax to Ativan. I also have been on sonata 10 mg for all these yrs. I was given a urine test which is pretty normal, before I took it I told him that there would prob. not be hydrocodone in it as we had been discussing that I needed more pain relief.
I did give them to my husband so that he could give them to me. As I had posted about a month or so ago I did reveal to my husband that I had a problem. I have been on them for about 4 weeks. I have taken 3 a day for that period and I am trying to wean myself off. I am scared to death... I can feel the anxiety and and depression already starting in.. I dont know if it is because I know what to expect or what. This week I also had another blow to my heart and emotions..
Baby loves john legend and a lot of upbeat but not crazy music... He chills right out if I play Dave Matthews or Incubus... So that's my falling asleep music at night now.
Have you tried Ambien or Sonata? I take Ambien (have been on it for about 4 years) - some nights it works well and others it's like I've taken a tic tac - but there are nights when nothing short of getting hit over the head with a hammer is going to help me sleep! I used to be on the CR version of the Ambien, until my insurance decided it wasn't going to cover that formula any longer, so now I'm back to the 10mg dose.
my dr just put me on sonata for sleep and i am being treated for add w/ritalin,lamictal for bpd,wellbrutrin depression, and nerourotin for nerve pain and a few days ago i started grinding my teeth together, looks like i am chewing gum all the time and i also am making grunting sounds.
It seems that every time I stop taking ambien for a few days and I'm feeling side effects. When I wake up my head is killing me, my kidneys are killing me, and I can't stop sudden movement. I have tried to stop several times though my doctors and with therapy but its like nothing works. I try to stick with it but if I have to deal with worst side effects. I can't believe I've been in this mess since '09 and I'm taking too many to even my prescriptions out.
I drive a 2015 Kia Sorento. Bought it 2 weeks before we found out we were pregnant! Loveeeeeee it! So much more room, and handy all wheel drive for nasty canadian winters!
I also remember getting it looked at again, either it left and came back, or I just forgot about it until my anxiety problems started, when I was 19 or 20. At that point my doctor even performed a mammogram to be sure it wasnt anything serious and that came back with no results, so I ignored it for a while longer.
The last month or so I've noticed it again (or it came back, again I'm not sure), after a couple years of homelessness, and not exactly living as well as I could.
I get up and do something quietly in another part of the house so I do not disturb anyone else. I read or balance the check book, or put in a load of clothes in the washer. Or go online and e-mail my friends and relatives. I have the freedom of going back to bed later when I am able to fall asleep. My life has changed and will not be as it was before. I can't have that life back. So I try to adapt and accept the circumstances of this one.
in Tylenol PM), 2 ounces of Nyquil, one Lunesta or Sonata (whichever I can lay hands upon), and one 1 mg Xanax (but not every night, to avoid addiction). When I can take all of it, ninety five percent of the time I sleep within an hour or an hour and a half. Without the xanax it still works about half of the time.
I am depressed over this as well as postpartum issues and have just been put on Celexa for anxiety and depression as well as Sonata for sleep by a recommended psychiatrist. The Sonata is too short-acthing though. I called the doc on call but he does not want to prescribe anything stronger until tomorrow, if adding melatonin and/or benadryl does not help.
I am currently wearing a holter monitor and have also worn en event monitor recently.
