I still continued to smoke for a couple of days, but only a couple of puffs from my husbands cigarette 2-3 times a day, then I looked online about the effects off smoking whilst pregnant and quit straight away! There are times when I would like a cigarette but I care for my unborn baby a million times more than a dirty fag! Honestly the best thing you can do is quit, every time you smoke your babies tiny heartbeat has to beat extremely fast as it struggles for oxygen!
I'm pretty sure the effects are the same as smoking cigarettes. My mother smoked weed while pregnant with me and I had breathing problems at birth and I was taken away from her until I was 4 months old. Is it really worth any of the possible side effects. Plus it depletes your brain cells and right now your babies brain is developing very rapidly so why chance it....
Not all babies have lasting effects from the mother smoking, but no matter if they have a permanent problem or not when smoking while pregnant it constricts your blood vessels and YOUR UMBILICAL cord not allowing the proper amount of oxygen and nutrients to your baby. That is a fact, its not like that happens to only some babies, its every baby every pregnancy with anyone who smokes.

Smoking although clearly a good idea to stop does of course have withdrawal symptoms and also in noting why people with schizophrenia often smoked scientists are studying a new generation of antipsychotics based on the effects of nicotine (without the harmful effects). Ok so I'm just finding out I'm pregnant. Sad to admit, I like smoking marjuanna. I know doctors suggest not smoking cigarettes while pregnant because of the toxins in the nicotine. There are no definitive side effects from weed that we know of BUT I have a few close friends who have smoked their whole pregnancy and multiple pregnancies and their children have birth defects born early and low birth weight so I mean if you wanna chance it then I guess that's up to you but honestly I wouldn't....just because we don't know for sure what kind of effects it has in babies yet doesn't mean there isn't proof around us..

With my first I quit the second I found out. I was 17 my parents wouldn't quit in the house so they only did it in their room only and I freaked if I saw it anywhere else. I loved smoking but my son is more important. 6 years later I still don't smoke.
But i stopped for almost a year with no problems. never really a big user. but recently i smoked alot over the past week. and i stopped smoking and drinking all together a day or two later because i was feeling really wierd. i get butterflyes in my stomach, sometimes randomly feel dizzy, disconnected from people and things.. i feel the best when i wake up in the morning and then it kinda starts through out the day.
But do it in a nice way of course. You can explain to him the negative effects of cigarette smoking, and you don't want him to suffer from its painful effects, that you want him to live longer for your family especially for your children. You can both research of other alternative to lessen his cravings for cigarette and eventually quit it for good.
i smoked alot of pot , i did slow down for awhile though, during the duration of my pregnancy before i knew , ive heard both sides in saying if i stop smoking completly ill put the baby in withdrawl or if i keep smoking ill cause lung defects , i havent smoked because i dont want to risk it , im just wondering which one it is , keep smoking or stop ?
t smoke weed, but just keep in mind, alot of states now have mandatory drug screening when you go into labor. And if your positive it has to be reported to Children Services. Just something to think about.
There have been hundreds of studies to prove all the terrible effects smoking had on the unborn baby. Low birth weight, increased risk of miscarriage to name just two. If you measure babies heart beat before and after smoking you can see that it raises their heart rate. Same as it does the adult who is smoking. Imagine holding a cigarette to a brand new baby's mouth, would you do it? ...... no.
