Skelaxin to get high

Common Questions and Answers about Skelaxin to get high

skelaxin

Avatar f tn Skelaxin helps me out with that. Compared to the opiates I just got off of, I get absolutely no buzz from Skelaxin. It just makes me a bit tired. Not my idea of a recreational drug at all. ...now Flexiril, that's another story. I tried that out, taking a 10mg. Next thing I knew, it was the next day! I slept probably 10 hours, and had a druggy hangover for another half-day.
Avatar f tn Just makes me go to sleep and then feel like cr**p when I wake up. Hungover and groogy. I guess you could get addicted to it. But i dont see how.
Avatar m tn patients, transport patients, help very unsteady patients get out of bed and walk. So quite often I need to take my skelaxin. My lower back tightens up and I just need some relief. I have been taking it a bit more often than I did say 6 months ago. I tKe it as prescribed I have never gone over the maximum dose, I am just concerned about possible withdrawal or anything like that from skelaxin.
Avatar n tn I don't think that amount of wine alone would elevate you enzymes but with the drugs you're taking I really don't know. I believe that Skelaxin may be associated with elevated liver enzymes is some people but again, I am not sure of this. I would Google all of the drugs you're taking with the word "liver" or "hepatic" eg "Skelaxin Liver".
Avatar f tn Hi and sorry about your neck/back injury. Flexeril does work a lot better. I was on it for 9 months. It wasn't too hard to get off of. Skelaxin didn't work as well for me either but did work some as I felt it after I got of of it. For short term I would take Flexeril at night (5mg). Apparently Skelaxin doesn't work for you.Flexeril only works for 3 weeks then it is a sleeping pill really. I would go on an off as needed.
Avatar f tn im 8 days clean and im just now starting to sleep.prob bout to days ago is when i started to feel sleepy and could sleep thru the night. i woulnt use anything to help me sleep bc i knew naturally my body would come around and that i would be able to fall asleep on my own. i refused to take anything. to scared to get hooked on something else.
Avatar n tn I,m so sorry to hear this story. I had to ask around to find a doctor (family) that would care and give pain meds. their out there! with all of his x-rays ,he should not have to much trouble.maybe you could follow up with the first doc. and tell him how bad he's doing. I write It all down .then he can see how much he needs help! good luck. I'll say a prayer for him .
Avatar m tn My doc just gave me Skelaxin for my back pain and said it might help. I have been trying to cut back taking hydro and I don't want to take anything that is going to make me woosey. I started into therapy last week and it is really making my back hurt. The nurosurgeon I saw said I have from L-1 to S-1 messed up and he does not think surgery would help any. So he just said take the hydro because your not taking that many (only 3 a day 7.
Avatar m tn Felt bump and determined was musculoskeletal. Prescribed anti-inflammatory (Naproxen) and muscle relaxer (Skelaxin). Told me to take as needed (didn’t have to take the full bottle). Took prescriptions for 4 days, Skelaxin caused stomach cramping even when taken as directed. Urine test came back cloudy with high white blood cell count. Concluded was very dehydrated and sent off for tests to determine if infection was present. Also had me go in for blood tests.
Avatar f tn I do not know if you have ever heard of it but it works much like a TENS unit does, except it is implanted. I had high hopes of being able to use this during pregnancy. However the company that makes them informed me it is not safe for the baby? I do not know if they know as well as maybe a high risk ob would so although i believed them; I have recently wondered about the accuracy of this. Just wondering what you know about this.
Avatar m tn Hi youngdude! I like your name :) Wish I was a "young dudette"....LOL I am VERY familiar with Soma. It was one of my favorite DOC's. It WAS re-classified as an addictive controlled substance in January 2013. I am a chronic pain person....had back surgery in 2011. Soma is different from other muscle relaxants because "chemically"...it breaks down like a benzo....that is per my doctor that knows all about my addiction to drugs.
Avatar f tn was taking the tram for degenerative disk disease in the neck so i was wondering, is this a symptom of w/d? or is this the pain that i am to endure after being clean? this *****.
Avatar f tn Hi, I started taking ultram for multiple vehicle injuries. Ultram didn't work, they tried Tylenol3, tylenol3 didn't work they tried hydrocodone, that didn't work..so they tried percoset 5/325 6X a day. I got used to that dose now im on 7.5/325 6x a day. The more I NEED them. The more I want them. I am definitely addicted but it is not a good addiction. I get very mean, and emotionless over nothing. I go to physical therapy 3x a week. So it is all legit.
450140 tn?1317947304 Want to send tons of ((HUGS)) to you Beth and I'm sorry that you are dealing with such pain and not able to find relief. I know nothing about SKELAXIN, so I can't give you any advice about that. Hopefully, someone here will be able to help. I hope the Neuro Psych appt goes well. Stick to your guns and get that plan of action!! I know it's so frustrating not knowing what to do or where to go next. Especially, since you are going through all of this pain.
Avatar f tn J Many times symptoms appear due to synergistic drug interactions. I think you would be best advised to get one physician to review all the meds/dosages/timing and then try to coordinate what you take for treatment. Off the top of my head since your pulse is very low try taking toprol-xl 2x/day instead of 3x. That might allow your pulse rate to come up a bit, but then your BP might rise. This is self medicating and not a good idea.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I was on other meds, Celebrex, Skelaxin and am off of all except Neurontin. I have tapered the Neurontin to 500mg/day. This question is related to side effects that may be due to Neurontin or maybe my migraines. When I was on a higher dose of Neurontin I was getting almost daily visual disturbances in both eyes that looked like what my migraine auras look like but those are in one eye and are followed by a headache.
Avatar m tn I had got down to 1 1/2 a day through my weening process but my back was hurting the whole time. I think I am still going to try to keep cutting back and see if I can quit when I can take a few days off work. Just thought I would let ya'll know where I am and how disappointed I am that the dr said he could not fix it for me. He did give me some muscle relaxers that they thought might help because I have a knot in the lower muscle of my back.
493368 tn?1209757681 I was diagnosed at age 16, and have been on several powerful medications. Skelaxin and Relafin are two which have helped most, but go to a doctor and explain the pain you are experiencing to them! If they are a good doctor at all, they will help you to alleviate the pain with a mix of medication and physical therapy as they did with me. I wish you the best.
Avatar n tn ER suggests neuro-surg. After attempts to get him into a NS, and paying $480, seeing 2 Drs that never even touched him, the first didn't even look at xrays or CT I brought with me. He was given a skelaxin muscle relaxer Rx and told to come back in 6 weeks. He keeps having excrutiating pain in upper left shoulder/spine connection, feels like a knot, and has not been able to sleep much. Cannot get another appt with anyone else. We have $ but are being treated as indigents. HELP!
Avatar n tn I also developed somehow a muscle spams around my neck aparently due to excesive coughing. The pain became the worst ever to the point of tears. The doctor prescribed skelaxin 800mg, it didn't help, then I added 400mg Advil.. The pain somehow got better, but still there. So Went for Motrin 800mg with Skelaxin, didn't help. So finally she gave a prescription of Tramadol 50mg.. it doesn't work. I don't what to do, I can sleep, I can't move my head, it's hard to drive.
176495 tn?1301280412 Ultrams are a big no no. Even on their site it says to not use if prone to opiate addiction. There are a bear to get off of. So you are right to be cautious. Sorry about the back pain.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with a transfer migraine last August. It started on Aug 1st and hasn't left me since. It's been an agonizing 6 months. It's called transfer migraine because it moves all over my head. I've never had one of those common migraines where the light bothers me or I get nauseated or see auras, etc. My migraines have been "light" headaches that stay with me for a few days: from 3 to five days at the most.
402205 tn?1230481005 I used to take flexeril but it stopped working for me and I was always able to stop c/t without any problems. I currently take 800mg 3xday of Skelaxin and there are no dependence issues at all, so I think you would be fairly safe not relapsing. I have read posts on here regarding soma which is a muscle relaxer and apparently it is addicting. You can also take upto 800mgs of IBprofen 3xday which really helps with muscle and joint pain.
Avatar m tn They always started at the base of my neck. I would get my husband to literally take his finger and dig as far as he could. I saw Dr after Dr and took everything imaginable trying to get some relief. O know this may sound crazy but I had a hysterectomy little over a year ago and have not had a migraine since.
Avatar f tn If you have not had an MRI done, that may be something to consider to rule out other illnesses that can mimic FMS. Also, testing for Lyme Disease. Hopefully, by getting your thyroid and other issues under control you will begin to feel much better in the months ahead. I pray this is the case for you.
Avatar f tn u r taking sumpin to get u hyped up..then u r having to take sumpin to slow u down so u can sleep...do u see the cycle here? A muscle relaxer like zanaflex, baclofen, flexeril..many more can help right now..skelaxin may help a bit tho if u dont have the others...do u have any phenergan? most doctors will call this in for any type of tummy problems/ or nuerontin (gabapentin)/benadryl?..
