918587 tn?1243411770 In March 2008 I was diagnosed with Grade 3 Invasive ductal carcinoma with lymphovascular invasion, HER2 positive and lymph node negative. My latest scans show a 2.1 x 2.6 x .5 cm seroma and a hypoechoic ill-defined region medially measuring 1.2cm in diameter. This is a solid lesion that may reflect post-surgical scar however a recurrent lesion cannot be excluded. What does this mean. I am having a further surgical review rather than a FNA. What does this mean. Am I in trouble again?
887689 tn?1247893057 I have HS had two surgery to remove a lump and sweat glands from under right arm in 2006, had a lump (not cancer) removed from left breast in 2008 and now i have two lumps ( one hard, not painful and other small and painful) in right breast. on US lump is shown but not on mammo. doc thinks it may be something because he saw a shadow but lab said review in 6 months ( lump location for lab review was at the wrong location so doc is going to do the US himself in one month.
Avatar m tn Of the total number of subjects [N=3884] in Phase II and III clinical studies of Sitagliptin, 725 patients were 65 years and over, while 61 patients were 75 years and older. No overall differences in safety or effectiveness were observed between subjects 65 years and over and younger subjects. While this and other clinical experience have not identified differences in responses between the elderly and younger patients, greater sensitivity of some older individuals cannot be ruled out.
Avatar f tn I am very sorry to hear of your mother's medical condition. I did go back and review your October 2008 post about your mother's coma. I am including (below) a hyperlink to the Mayo Clinic's website where they discuss diabetic comas, including treatment. The Mayo Clinic is one of the top medical facilities in the US. http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/diabetic-coma/DS00656 I admire your devotion and love for your mother.

Avatar f tn My question is, if you saw this on your mammogram report would you think the radiologist misread the mammograms in 2007 and 2008? If I had been informed in 2007 and 2008 there were microcalcifications then I would have researched what it meant, insisted on closer follow up and even a biopsy. Do you think it's possible that if my mammogram were read correctly in 2007 and 2008 that the cancer could have been discovered earlier saving me from having a mastectomy?
Avatar n tn on the Community Eye forum it was mentioned that there is an article called "US Evaluation Improves Crystalens Outcomes" from the Review of Optometry July 2008. You can access this on the front page of Ellex Medical - at Ellex.com. It describes a doctor's studies of some of the complications with Crystalens, some of it concerns the reasons the lens does not move or accomodate. It might not apply to your situation exactly but might shed some light.
Avatar n tn The consultant stated that my breasts were ageing, but he wanted to see me for review in three months time, although it would probably take longer for the appointment to come though. As I was very nervous at the time, I didn’t ask any questions. I am going to see him for a review appointment this Thursday. I was just wondering if you think it would be appropriate to ask for a biopsy. I believe it is fat necrosis, as I only noticed the lump after my son jumped on me.
Avatar f tn I have a Meniginoma located at the base of my skull. I was diagnosised in 2008. The size of the tumour has increased since then. The Neurosurgeon I sought, for a second opinion gave me three options including surgery up through the nose which would involve drilling through the skull base ( A Transphenoidal ) ! The second choice is Craniotomy and the third is a Radiation Therapy . My Question for you is, What are the pros and cons of opting for Radiation Therapy?

Medical societies develop treatment guidelines for a long list of diseases. Insurance companies look to restrictive treatment guidelines to determine which treatments are covered.
Avatar n tn I had an encounter with a stripper 4/8/2008. I was tested on 4/10/2008 by labcorp and showed positive for HSV2 they said I had genital herpes. I was tested again today 4/12/2008 and showed up negative. The previous exposure before this was 3/13/2008. The exposures have been me receiving Oral Sex while wearing a Condom. The Dr. that did the test on 4/10 explained that his test was the most accurate and that I'm probably negative.
Avatar f tn A little searching online brings up interesting stuff on that topic, such as the following review and commentary at ScienceDaily [dot] com, posted in 2008: "In a special issue of the Journal of Alzheimer's Disease published May 2008, guest editors Judith Miklossy, from The University of British Columbia, and Ralph N. Martins, from Edith Cowan University and Hollywood Private Hospital, Perth, Western Australia, and a group of experts explore this exciting topic.
