Singulair and nose bleeds

Common Questions and Answers about Singulair and nose bleeds

Avatar n tn I've been Advair since January of this year and just last month, I starting having nose bleeds also. I get nose bleeds at least a couple times a day and it also cause my voice to change in tone and I feel as if I am choking on phelm most of the time. I'm looking into Singulair. I don't know if it will be any different but I am getting off of Advair.
Avatar dr m tn This can lead to appetite and weight issues. Your nose has vital nervous system connections to your lungs and heart. Not breathing well through your nose can alter your heart rate and blood pressure, as well as to increasing your stress response. Your nose makes about 2 pints of mucous every day. If your nose isn't working properly and mucous isn't cleared, the stagnant mucous can lead to infections such as sinusitis or ear infections.
Avatar f tn They ran tests on her heart and came to the conclusion that there is nothing really wrong with her heart so they ran blood work and discovered that she is anemic and her blood platelets are low. She had bleeding gums for several months and really terrible nose bleeds and bruising. Anyhow, after running more blood work they found that her ige level (something that shows her response to allergies?) was at almost 1300.
Avatar n tn I have had hearing tested, everything ok...I also used to get heavy and long-lasting nose bleeds from my right nostril and eventually had the weak blood vessel cauterized. Since then (or maybe before then and I hadn't noticed), that nostril tends to run a lot. Could that be linked to post-nasal drip, with a connection to problems with eustation tubes?
Avatar f tn He has all kind of enviromental allergies, he also had nose bleeds almost evryday with nose bleeds and the antibiotics given to him all the time his Iron was very Low! so...between allergies and low inmune system he was worst. THG his dr. treated him right away with Iron and we were refered to be seen by a Specilist for his nose bleedings. He started to be stronger. By the way I switched two times Pediatricians..if you are not happy with your docs do it!!...
Avatar f tn In 2012 with our strange S CA weather this winter, I have had constant sinus congestion/swelling, post nasal drip, nose bleeds after trying a different prescription antihistamine spray and it seems saline rinses and daily Claritin offer no relief. I will also add..About 10 months, I got a referral to an ENT who did a very brief exam of my nasal passages and ordered sinus x-rays.They came back normal.
Avatar f tn I am a 32-year-old woman, otherwise healthy, but I have had nasal allergies since I was a child. I have tried tried various treatments including Singulair, Claritin, Zyrtec, Allegra, and Nasonex. I am just starting my second year of allergen therapy injections, which includes dust, cat dander, and pollens. About six months ago, I had a CT scan and was diagnosed with severe nasal polyps, which explained my loss of sense of smell several years before.
Avatar n tn I used to be able to just go out of the house somewhere and living happy and free without thinking and planning how I will manage my runny nose when leaving the house. Fortunately I have a desk job, so there is not much physical labor, or else I could not work either. My ENT and I tried everything. We discussed Vidian neurectomy as a last option. However, he has not done one for about 20 years and it's a rare surgery because it is rather difficult to reach the vidian nerve to cut it.
Avatar f tn I have been getting headaches, but I don't know whether they are from the spray, from not using enough spray, or something else. Also, my nose bleeds periodically--not a lot, but when I blow my nose, the mucus is bloody. I think the blood is coming from my nostril, because if I dab at the inside of my nostril with a tissue, it comes out bloody. My doctor is rather dismissive of my questions, and I know he will just insist that I keep using the full amount.
Avatar n tn Hi Everyone. This is my first post. I started having problems about 5 years ago. It was occasional problems such as mild sinus pain/pressure and headache with mild eye strain. Each year it has gotten worse. Over the course of the past 5 years I have seen multiple doctors across different specialites: Ears, Nose & Throat, Neurologist, Allergist, and my Intern. I have had MRI's and CT scans. This year has been the worst so far. I have already gotten 2 sinus infections.
326352 tn?1310997895 DDAVP is desmopressin acetate sometimes it's rx'd for bedwetting or nose bleeds. Ds had his rx'd for both. He started his shots this past Nov. and he turned 9 that Sept.
Avatar n tn In fact, that is not the way it was at all. The sides come and go. I would get nose bleeds, for instance, and imagine having them daily throughout treatment, imagine having them while driving on the interstate, or standing in line at a store. In fact, I think I had 5 during the 24 wks, all in the a.m. at home. Another time, I started getting very lightheaded, like I was going to faint. Sitting down didn't relieve it. I began to worry about fainting in my car etc.
407149 tn?1211736107 BECAUSE IT'S GOING STRAIGHT TO THE MUCOUS MEMBRANES IN MY NOSE, SINUSES, AND MOUTH. I took it before, about 5 years ago, and did not have this problem. This time, if I wake up during the night, it feels like I'm "huffing" AIRPLANE GLUE! Or, gasoline! It's burns my nose so bad that sometimes I try breathing through my mouth, but I can smell it coming out of my mouth, too! Just like so many of you have also experienced. I feel like I've snorted onion juice!
Avatar n tn sometimes i think it's supplements i'm taking and other times i'm not sure. didn't have it for a while and now it's back again. sometimes i get eczema around my nose area and i think it's that. most times it starts in my office where they used to smoke inside and now smoke outside. but as long as i don't have a tumor i'll live with it.
Avatar n tn Symptoms include aching joints, blocked nose and headaches as well as generally feeling awful. Periods are heavy and painful with clotting for about seven-nine days. Cold Symptoms usually last 5-7days. GP tried to treat heavy periods with Tranexamic acid but I reacted with severe mouth ulcers (half tongue size) Again these ulcers would appear around day three. Now resolved by stopping the meds but heavy periods have returned. The symptoms are to regular for coincidence, can anyone help?
Avatar n tn I have had chronic bacterial infections in my sinuses, tonsels and throat for the past two months and have been on many rounds of antibiotics, my infections are gone but I was left with a strong deep cough and now phlegm and swelling in my throat. No doctors have been able to tell me what it could be, my ear nose throat specialist said it was most likely acid reflux disease, but I don't buy that.
Avatar n tn 5 years ago, I was diagnosed with Aguagenic Urticaria when after sweat and water exposure I not only feel the pain and itchiness as usual but i also get hives all over my torso, face, limps, and scalp, and the inside of my nose starts iching and my eyelids swell up. I've learnt not to expose my skin to cold temperature right after workout, hot shower/bath and after I swim. I still break out from my sweat and water but cold temperature aggrevates and makes the hives and itch worse.
Avatar n tn Then I went to a different doctor and he recommended a lotion called Ectoson regular 0.1%. BINGO!!!! the eczema in and around my ears and nose is gone. I apply a bit of it to the affected area 1-2 times a day and around 4-6 days my rash was just about gone. I've only been on this stuff for 3 weeks now. I am starting to use less and less to see if the rash comes back. I hope this info helps you people out.
Avatar n tn I'm 24 now--the first time I ever had an anxiety episode was in college when I was about 19 and I had started taking advair and singulair for the first time for my asthma/allergies. I'm still convinced that that's what has opened the floodgates for me, so to speak. As far as anxiety disorders go, different things can trigger the onset of them if you have a genetic predisposition for it, and for me that's what it was and I've had a problem with it ever since.
