1378404 tn?1278974651 3yrs ago i lost about 90lbs and managed to keep it off. i lost the weight and my natural breasts from the dramatic weight loss and i had saline implants put in. for the past year and a half they have been shifting downwards and outwards. the implants are no longer symmetrical. the bottom of my breasts are no longer circular shaped. i have indents and puckering of the implant on the sides and bottom of my breasts especially when i stand in certain ways or use my arm/pectoral muscles.
Avatar n tn Rosenberg, I read in this forum that you encourage your patient to do pectoral muscle exercise to help prevent capsular contracture. I am currently going through some complications and have an open wound... the exact cause is unknown... but I have been trying to limit my upper arm movement to suppress fluid build up. In that case, I cannot do much exercise or massage or compression as you can imagine... as I need to let the open wound (just below my crease) heal first...
Avatar n tn Since my breast is already harder than the other side and have had more surgeries, I am concerned about capsular contracture. I heard taking Vitamin E and other supplements such as the following (Scar Multiplex Formula) would help: http://www.smhomeopathic.com/store/product898.html I won't be taking any Vitamin E at least until a few weeks post-op, however planned to take other supplements to help prevent CC.
Avatar n tn he has diagnosed anterior capsular contracture as the cause for mild haziness and difficulty in near vision. has done yag laser capsulotomy today. is this because of negligence on the part of surgeon or its an unavoidable complication?. he said its common in 30 to 40 % patients post cataract.is it so? and can u tell me will this help him now. sorry sir for bothering u again , bt being a precious eye , i am nervous and scared .
Avatar f tn Probably she has a mild capsular contracture, and she does not like the feeling of the muscles moving the implants. This is actually a common complaint. She could probably take a muscle relaxant and solve this discomfort.
Avatar f tn I have since had two Yag treatments in each eye to treat capsular contracture and early PCO. I have been plagued with glare and flickering problems since the beginning and I have recently come to recognize that I have peripheral light focusing issues in both eyes. Light entering at oblique angles is focused on the nasal retina. I have read several journal articles by MT Coroneo which describe the phenomena. There is no mention of refractive surgery as a solution.
Avatar n tn Wearing a tight bra always made me feel better. I think you sounded concerned about capsular contracture; if so, I previously experienced that and did not have stinging or shooting pains at that time. Hang in there and I'm sure you will soon be as comfortable as I am.
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to MedHelp's forums. We are glad you are working with your doctor and encourage you to continue to do so. I know this is a scary time but please know that things can be suspicious and turn out to not be cancer. This happens on a regular basis. And if it is cancer, diagnosing it as soon as possible and beginning treatment is the best way to overcome it. So, you are on the right track for having the best outcome for yourself either way. Did your mother have breast cancer?
Avatar f tn I am freeking out can u help ease my mind? I am a single mother of a 2 yearold..... In the past year I have dated 2 men. The first one for 6 months and the second one for 5 months. Through the course of each relationship I had unprotected sex with both. Both are still friends of mine and seem well. About 3 months ago I noticed that I had swollen painful armpit nodes both armpits....no other symptoms at all.
Avatar n tn Pain and hardness following breast enlargment surgery is most likely the result of capsule contracture (scar tissue squeezing the implant) and unlikely to be a sign of cancer. For complete assurance, you need a mammagram.
Avatar n tn Hello everyone, Three years ago, I was treated for Dupuytren's contracture in my left hand, specifically affecting the 4th and 5th fingers, using XIAPEX injections. Unfortunately, the contracture has returned after two years.
Avatar m tn 6 months ago I had a TURP. Several days ago I was unable to urinate. I went to an emergency room, and the doctors (incluing urologist) could not break through my uretha. They had to put my completely under anesthesia and operate. I now have a catheter. TheER doctor said my uretha is blocked with scar tissue as hard as concrete and is suggesting he perform a "bladder neck contracture". The doctor who performed the TURP is suggesting dilation.
Avatar n tn Dupuytren's contracture is not a dangerous condition, and often no treatment is necessary. Even when treatment is used, there is no permanent way to stop or cure the affliction. So demonstrate the procedure near any experienced Orthopaedician just to see that you do not harm yourself. Surgery is the last option. Take care!
Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with dupuytran's (sp?) contracture. My father had it (a pretty severe case) and had hand surgery to correct it. My case at age 50 is not as severe as my father's, but it is progressing. My question is whether one should get surgery sooner rather than later. I have heard different things. On the one hand, as long as it doesn't bother you much, put off surgery for as long as you can.
Avatar f tn I have dysautonomia and have intermittent spasticity and weakness in arms and especially legs. I sometimes get contracture in my hands. Today, I woke up to it all! My arms and legs feel like lead and jelly at the same time, My arms are too weak to hold up and it was hard to drive or grip the steering wheel. My hands are contracted. I am lightheaded. I am in the process of looking for new doctors. so I don't even have a doctor to call.
Avatar f tn 14 years ago at age 29, I had a mastectomy with reconstruction with a saline implant. Lately I have had a lot of pain underneath and around the implant area, with radiation of this pain into the trapezius muscle in my upper back. I also have occasional sharp pain on that side upon taking a deep breath. Could this be caused by implant contracture or should I get it checked for the possibility of recurrence even after this period of time?
Avatar m tn he began to have a facial tic, dilated pupils and hallucinations. i finally got the message and discontinued the singulair after researching the drug on the internet. after 3 weeks, he was like a different child. he was happier and healthier. his fears, anxiety and all the other side effects just disappeared. this drug can have devastating effects and be undetected by parents. children are unable to express the way the drug is making them feel.
920032 tn?1550680156 All those do is dry up the mucous and drainage - post nasal drip. I use it and love it. Singulair is a leukotriine modifier. That is one of the many chemicals involved in allergic reactions. As far as which is better, that would be hard to say. They have totally different purposes. Some people say that Singulair has little effect, while I won't miss a dose without having an attack.
Avatar f tn My Dr has recommended I try singualr along with Allegra and flonase. He had told me the SIngulair will not make me feel funny, cause anxiety or heart palps etc...yet I see there are a lot of negative side effects. Does anyone have any experience on this medicine or just how safe it is?
460830 tn?1347219306 Singulair is a leukotriene (loo-koe-TRY-een) inhibitor. Leukotrienes are chemicals your body releases when you breathe in an allergen (such as pollen). These chemicals cause swelling in your lungs and tightening of the muscles around your airways, which can result in asthma symptoms. Singulair is used to prevent asthma attacks in adults and children as young as 12 months old. It is also used to relieve runny nose and sneezing caused by allergies in adults and children as young as 6 months old.
Avatar m tn It causes asthma (Arizona Cypress, Mesquite and Palo Verde are the culprits.) Singulair has helped me very successfully in the past. However, I also take a very low dose blood pressure medication (Lisinopril 20mg). I do not have health insurance and have an alternative source for medications. Would it be advisable for me to purchase Singulair for 3 months to get me through those three months next year. This year was a bit difficult without it.
285848 tn?1219092313 And, I know someone who got implants and one of them ended up being like a full cup size smaller due to something called capsular contracture. So, you could get it done and end up with a smaller, hard breast anyways. ALSO look into what your insurance's policy is for women with breast implants.
Avatar f tn One is fine, but the other was encapsulated, it is itchy, and tender. I had surgery about 1 1/2 years ago , for the encapsulation, it was fine for about 2 months, then began to harden again. I have had other scars that have to develped into keloids. after 7 or 8 yrs. the scars softened and lightened. will this happen with the implant? It seems to me, if my body is prone to keloids, there is no way to operate on this breast to make it better.
Avatar m tn I've been experiencing bleeding in the left eye for a couple of years and it was getting progressively worse. My retinal specialist thought it was a complication from a torn retina which treated. Bleeding started after the treatment (laser) for the torn retina. A vitrectomey was peformed a few months ago and did not solve problem. New prognosis is that problem is due to IOL rubbing against pupil. Keeping eye dialated has stopped the bleeding.
1154802 tn?1266485720 I also use Symbicort and was using my inhaler quite a bit...every night and 1-3 times during the day. I started taking Singulair a month ago and I don't use my inhaler nearly as much anymore. I've used it 3 times at night in the past month (2 of the times I forgot to take Singulair) and a few random times during the day/evening. Just a thought if you don't already take it and you have allergy issues. Take care.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm a 45 year old man, in pretty good shape. Workout every other day 5'11" 185lbs. History of seasonal allergies and sinsus problems. No history of Asthma. In November 2015, I had a really bad allergic reaction to a coworkers perfume and had a very difficult time recovering from it. In February 2016, my doctor prescribed Advair 250/50, once a day and Singulair 10mg at bedtime.
Avatar m tn Is there any way for the Retina or Cataract Specialists to determine whether or not a Vitrectomy/ERM peel surgery caused damaged Zonules or Lens Capsular Bag tears/weakness PRIOR to the necessary Cataract surgery that is now following theVitrectomy ?
