About three months ago I started taking propecia because I thought my hair was falling out too young. I experienced several side effects from the drug including total loss of sex drive, difficulty maintaining erections, loss of spontaneous erections/morning erections. I stopped taking propecia within 3 weeks due to an inability to deal with these side effects. Things seemed to be slowly getting slightly better as the weeks and months progressed however now some new issues have been arising.
He said that he would not recommend testosterone because too many side effects. A testosterone level of 305 being low for me makes sense to me. When I was 22, I participated in a research study at school....and one of the things they measured was testosterone levels. At this time my testosterone level was in the high 400's. I know there are thousands of people who take antidepressants, but many people take Propecia and some people claim to have sexual side effects after they stop. There a scientific journals that have recorded patients with various persistant sexual side effects that do not go away after they quit as well. Are doctors not aware of these rare occurances???

Saw Palmetto works like propecia but side effects are more severe than propecia. It blocks both 5-alpha reductase type I & II. so Testosterone does not convert to DHT, no DHT means no sexual function. Some people using SP also suffer from low total T and free T or in other words they are hypogonadal. The only solution is go on TRT for the life.

I am really worried if it has done any damage to him or not.
