I have short term memory and have had it most of my life, I cant work and i feel very ashamed because i cant remember directions or a number ive been told just after ive been told them. I was abused as a child, sexually, mentally and physically as a child. I have depression and have panic disorder. Would that have somthing to do with my memory beeing so bad?
hey guys, I was diagnosed with short term memory back in high school...teachers were made aware of this issue & I was given extra time to take tests/study. A few years have passed since then, but I find that I seem to be forgetting things quicker than I used to. For instance, I couldnt even remember the name of a movie I saw with my friend two days ago or our conversation....sometimes conversations hours after they have occurred. is there anythinng I can do to help improve my memory???
Hello, Sarah. My husband (age 57) had a hemorrhagic stroke last year in July. The stroke mainly struck his eyesight. He now has double vision. His short term memory was affected but it has gotten a lot better. It is still very early in your moms recovery. I would say the short term memory will get better, but, how much is anyones guess. My husbands doctors never once said anything about Alzheimers. Find out what areas of your moms brain was hit.
s first suggestion was that I discontinue taking Ambien immediately; as it was causing my short term memory loss, upon further research on the subject, I learned that I am not alone. And that there are dozens, if not hundreds of others, and articles; which are written on the subject, and the association, or side effect of short term memory loss, while using, and apparently even after discontinuing Ambien CR 12.5 tablets!

Ambien absolutely can cause memory loss, more commonly short-term issues, but also some people have reported problems with their long term memory as well. The good news is...if other causes have been ruled out, and Ambien seems to be the culprit, the memory issues will resolve most times after the Ambien is safely tapered.
My husband had a very large Pineal Meningioma Tumor removed 1-7-11. He has no short term memory. I believe in miracles but medically I feel/know his memory won't every come back. This is a rare situation as Pineal Meningioma Tumors are rare. The tumor was right in the middle of his head above the brain stem. He also had to have a VP shunt. His quality of life is so sad because he doesn't make new memories and has lost so much memory that he once had.

You need a proper assessment and investigation here since there can be many causes for memory loss & concentration impairment.
I'm 36, healthy, ideal weight and I find that my short term memory is depleting at a rapid rate. What can I do or take to help with this....I have tried the B12 liquid but I notice no change. This problem is getting really embarrassing at the point I must write everything down or I will forget.
I have a severe difficulty staying focused. To the point where I can be having a conversation with somebody and the minute they turn around, I forget everything. t wake up in her usual time, lately she woke up and when I talked with her she was unable to answer me properly, she was having difficulties in short term memory, she was unable to tell me whether it is morning or night, I asked her what time is it she said its night, I asked then why there's sunlight if it is night then she get confused and said i dont know may be its evening.
i am a 29 yearold malei was borm with Short term memory loss its really hard to learn anything, i get so uninterested so far into learning whatever it may be, its hard for me to find a job but the one i had for2 years in construction it was mainly me and my boss going to his rentals repairing them but when he needed me to get a tool or something from his truck id go get it and by the time i got to the tool bag in the truck i totally forgot what i even came out there for so i had to stand there
My husband had an stroke 6 years ago in his thalamus which caused him to be confused, short term memory loss, some long term memory loss,etc. The good news is that he regained almost all of his functioning, but some small short term memory issues. 3 weeks ago he worked in the yard in 100 degree temps for several hours. The next day he woke up with the same symptoms as the stroke 6 years ago and we assumed he had another stroke.
I think most- if not all- of us with this have memory issues. Especially short term memory. And concentration. These are just the unfortunate symptoms of this condition. I have asked for meds to help- thinking ADHD med might help with concentration, but my NS said that it's not the same, and the ADHD meds won't work. Unless you have ADHD.
