Avatar f tn My son has been having episodes of severe vomiting for about a year now. He doesn't have insurance but he did go to the ER a couple of times. They just gave him fluids and did some generic blood work and then sent him on his way. They gave him some Protonix this last time. I'm concerned as he lives far from me and I don't know what's going on. Are there any suggestions? Since he has had this for about a year, I'm thinking it can't be anything life threatening.

Avatar f tn I've had severe vomiting my entire pregnancy. Have tried literally everything. I've also had gastritis 5 times bc of the vomiting which makes vomiting more frequent and worse. Avatar f tn The hormone secreted during pregnancy is hcg. A rise in hcg levels is one of the causes of pregnancy symptoms. Hcg rises fairly quickly in a healthy pregnancy (doubles every 48 hours approximately). Assuming you have a healthy pregnancy and hcg levels rise normally, the hormone would cause pregnancy symptoms. This is where people get that the more symptoms you have, the higher your hcg, the healthier the pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Everytime I get up to pee in the middle of the night, I make sure to drink water afterwards and then in the morning before I even sit up I nibble on the crackers or toast. Lay there for about 10-15 mins and let it settle then get up slowly and go wash your face with cool water. 2 - Another thing I was told was that while it's important to eat, it's more important to stay hydrated....for about a week I was pretty much on a liquid diet to help maintain nutrients and hydration.

Avatar n tn I had severe morning sickness and vomiting starting at 5weeks all the way to my 23rd week. I threw up about five times in a day and ended up in the hospital twice because I was severely dehydrated. Try to drink as much water as you can but don't drink lots of water at once because if not you will probably end up throwing up the water. Try gatorade, ginger ale, crackers, jello, chicken noodle soup, 7up or sprite, popsicles helped me a lot.
