Avatar n tn Hello, If the rash has appeared suddenly then it can be due to contact dermatitis, viral rashes or seborrheic dermatitis. But if it has been present for quite some time, then it can be due to rosacea. Rosacea is a medical condition presenting with redness, swelling, discoloration and sometimes pimples and dry skin over the cheeks, nose, chin or forehead. What exactly it is can be confirmed only after physical examination by a dermatologist.

Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp. under the nose or anywhere on face. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Avatar n tn Hi. Just over 2 years ago a rash appeared on both sides of my face in my beard area. They spread along my beard to my chin. During which time I visited the doctor 2 or 3 times and was told I have Seborrhoeic Dermatitis. Each time I was given steriod cream which done nothing to help. More recently my whole face has become inflamed (and I mean my whole face including my forehead). It itches and looks horrible. My face has also become very oily.

Avatar f tn Dear Doctor and all, I would be very grateful if you could tell me what the typical HIV rash look like. The only info I have is that it could affect any part of the body but usually the face and the trunk. But what I really want to know is whether it is always widespread. I have recently found about 10 tiny red dots on my chest. They are slightly raised, close together but not touching. They are not itchy at all, and the skin around them looks normal. Could they be HIV-related?
