But from last 3 days I am getting very bad white flakes on face. My face is tight and some time applying lotion burns my face. White flakes have appeared first time on my face.
I am very scared does this resembles dermatitis? I also have little bit itching on face.
Face doesn't look dry to me..I have oil on nose. No red rash as of now. Will it occur in late stage? Should I visit my doctor again. Or wait for some days n see.
Or this can be side effect of acne gel I was using.

Later, pityrosporum yeast grows excessively in the sebum, sometime along with bacteria, making the dermatitis more persistent.

From the symptoms, it looks like seborheic dermatitis. Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp under the nose or anywhere on face. You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium.

Without examination,I cannot confirm a diagnosis but it can be dry skin(xerosis), eczema, sweat dermatitis, allergic reactions or seborrheic dermatitis.

When I saw the dermatologist she did not want to treat me for this area instead she wanted to first treat me for this other skin condition that she felt was seborrheic dermatitis. For the last seven years, onset was during my pregnacy with my twins, I have had a slightly reddend area that has somewhat of a hyper exfoliation to it. I have managed to keep this area not a problem by being extremely careful of what I use on my face.

I think you most likely have seborrheic dermatitis on both face and scalp. Your doctor can prescribe a cortisone-based scalp lotion, that works better on localized patches than shampoos do.

I have been getting electrolysis on my face and have recently been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if the Seborrheic dermatitis may have been caused by the damaging of the hair follicles. I have very mild seb derm but it flares up about four days after an electrolysis session on my face.

I have been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis on my face. I was asked to take sporanox capsules by the doc for a week and consult the doc soon after. The fungal infection subsided within that period but I did not consult the doc after that. The infection has returned once again . I would like to know if I should take the capsules once again for a week and then consult the doc or meet the doc before taking them.
I was told by my dermo that I had Seborrheic dermatitis. It was dry itchy and scaly under my beard, in the nose folds, ears and eyebrows. I was given desonate gel to use for 2 weeks and things calmed down. However now I just have a redness itchy forehead. I put moisture cream o it and it doesnt really help. Is this still donsidered Seborrheic dermatitis? And would the desonate gel still be the right rx to use?

This may sound like an eczematous disease.Examples of which are seborrheic dermatitis, contact and allergic dermatitis, and atopic dermatitis. However, a consult with a dermatologist is necessary to identify the condition.
Meanwhile, apply cool compress over the face to reduce itchiness. An OTC antihistamine may be able to relieve the symptoms.Moisturize the face with a bland hypoallergenic cream ( do not use lotion) as needed.
Avoid exposure to heat , dry environments, abrasive soaps.

Initially, diagnosed with Contact dermatitis. Then other dermatologists say Seborrheic. Is there anything out there to lighten up scarring on especially the face from the effects of Seborrheic Dermatitis naturally? If not, over the counter. After different meds from different dermatologists . Finally on one that is currently helping, for now, but face is scarred from where the bumps were appearing. Never had blemishes on face like this. Any suggestions to ask my dermatologist?
