Im concerned about my almost 4year old son who has recently finished a 5day course of antibiotics- penicillin, for scarlet fever, its the first time he's had them. within a day or so of finishing the course he is having pains in his tummy which seem to come on mainly from walking any further than around the house, and also sometimes eating.iv just bought some probiotics and am hoping thats all thats needed?
Id be really grateful to hear from anyone with similer experience or advice??

my son is 9+yrs and has had a stiff neck since oct/nov last year. suddenly 2mo's ago he got really swollen glands with sore throat and bad chest infection with wheezing asthma, followed by high fever ard 5days later. it affected his liver too for e next 2months_swollen and palpable, with upset stomach and pain below the ribs. the doc suspected EBV, so he was told no sports for 2mo's. a test showed that it was an old ebv infection, but not active.
We took him to the doctor and he diagnosed Scarlet fever. He priscribed Amoxicillin for 10 days. He started taking it and 3rd day his fever was gone, rash was gone. I sent him to day care for one day as I had to go to office and he came back with minor fever again. We thought his antibiotics is still not finished may be he will be fine. Next morning his legs badly hurt. Then I notice he was starting pink eye.
the disease usually comes along a couple of weeks after someone has popped up with a stubborn strep infection like strep throat or scarlet fever (which is almost unheard of these days w. the scarlet fever). The parts of your body that can be effect is your heart, brain, joints of your body mimicking rheumatoid arthritis and believe it or not your skin. Nothing showed up and they told us it was probaly a viral infection on top of the scarlet fever. She was still vomitting every now and then. She has now finished the antibiotics for the scarlet fever (on saturday morning), and was still running a fever off and on. She constantly complains of pain in her lower neck, wrists, knees, and ankles. She also has constant abdominal pain. She was sent home from school on Monday with a low grade fever and I called her Dr.

So 5 days ago I had a fever of about 102 to 103 then at one point the fever stopped right after it stopped I got a rash that started under my armpits and inner thighs and my pelvic where my stomach meets my groin and the back of my knees. So I went to the doc and she diagnosed me with scarlet fever. So she gave me amoxiciila and methylprednisolone.
The rash of scarlet fever is usually associated with headache and a fever .The rash has a rough feel to it and may be reddish over the arms and legs.However ,in your case the rash does not appear like this based on the images. A superimposed viral infection is your physician's primary differential.
Continue to obeserve the rash and note for any scaling of the skin or development of enlarged lymph nodes especially over the neck. Take lots of fluids and eat well.

I have unprotected oral sex 4 months ago, but your college said that in can not be involved with any sexual transmitied disses.I do antibiotics as mu doctor taled me but it is still sore trough.I feel fine, no headache, no feveronly a small loss of appettite but it can be involved with taking antibiotics .What do you think?
Maybe you should be tested for hand, foot, and mouth. This can cause sore throat and also peeling of skin on hands and feet. You should return to your dr. as he or she may need to give you another round of antibiotics for the strep. Hope you get well soon.
Start your research there, then be sure to also look into rheumatic fever - which is an after effect of the the strep bacteria that causes scarlet fever and involves various inflammatory and auto-immune conditions. It's sort of like having an allergic reaction to an infection. The body then attacks its own organs as if they were the infection - cross reactivity of antibodies.
White patches on the tonsils are generally pus and can be caused by a number of things, such as tonsillitis, thrush, or mono. I'd recommend taking him in to see an MD. I've had my tonsils removed due to recurring tonsillitis and the sooner he can get on antibiotics if that's what it is, the sooner his pain and other symptoms will go away.

How old is your child?
There are differentials for a rash in children who present with fever. At this point, given your child's age and the presentation of the rash, scarlet fever and hand,foot and mouth disease are differentials.
As for scarlet fever, the rash usually develops a day or two after the onset of fever. Prior to his your child complains of pain in swallowing,weakness or easy fatigability, decrease in appetite and for some nausea and vomiting.
He told me it was probably still scarlet fever and that I should continue with the antibiotics and let him know if it worsens by tomorrow. Right now, it's sort of appearing on my outer arms (spreading up from hands), and also up my legs (from ankles). This rash is slightly different from the original one, in that the spots are larger, and while raised slightly, not as much as the original rash.
I'm wondering if it's possible that this is due to an STD or I (possibly syphilis?
