Avatar n tn Should I be concerned about her taking both of these during the same week (this week) or in combination in general? Are there any additional health precautions we should be taking in visiting this country? I will also visit the websites that you provided for the other inquirer. Avatar n tn Ciprodex otic is an antibiotic ear drop that combines the antibiotic ciprofloxacin with the glucocorticoid steroid dexamethasone. While both of these things are safe to use on a dog, human-strength drugs are often too strong to be used on our much-smaller four-legged companions, and what starts out as a well-meaning gesture quickly turns into a medical emergency far bigger than the original problem. Your vet can advise you as to the safety of using this medicine on your dog.
Avatar m tn Fetal Risk Summary Sparfloxacin is an oral, synthetic, broad-spectrum antibacterial agent. As a fluoroquinolone, it is in the same class of agents as ciprofloxacin, enoxacin, levofloxacin, lomefloxacin, norfloxacin, and ofloxacin. Nalidixic acid is also a quinolone drug. Reproduction studies, conducted in male and female rats, found no evidence of impaired fertility or reproductive performance at oral doses approximately 15 times the maximum human dose on a mg/m2 basis (MHD) (1).
1413519 tn?1281818201 My husband got a mist of coolant around his safety glasses at work. He used the eye wash station and reported it. This has happened before, possibly 2 other times in the past 10 years. Past times resulted in mild eye infection that was treated by our doctor w/ drops. This time he got a severe infection that he treated for 2 weeks with little results. He was sent to a specialist. Treatment plan, antibiotic drops, steroid drops, as well as some type of drops to help his pupil to shrink.

Avatar n tn Hello I'm wondering when it's safe to resume exercise after using the antibiotic ciprofloxacin. I do intense cardio (trail-running or versa-climber), and lift about three times per week, alternating days with sunday off. I'm in pretty good physical condition with the exception of a bulging L5-S1 disc and occasional sciatica on my right side.
Avatar m tn After the encounter, about an hour later, i went home, washed my genitals, and used alcohol afterwards and put hydrocortisone ointment on, and I used listerine and alcohol on my lips, and put carmex on, and then I took some 1g of azythromycin and 500 mg of ciprofloxacin and I have a wife, i am worried that i could have given something to her. Avatar n tn As mkh9 pointed out, the solvents used in magic markers are universally neurotoxic, with the exception of some markers especially produced for children (and even then the safety claims are suspect). Thus, sucking on a marker will produce brain damage, the amount of which depends upon the frequency of exposure and the length of exposure.
Avatar m tn I am very concerned about passing anything to my wife and children. In fact, I have moved myself to a seperate area of the house to make sure my kids and my wife do not have any skin to skin contact to me. I saw somewhere online, there is a chance genital Herpes can be passed on to children from hand touch the children. I do wash my hands after every tolilette use. But, I am not sure how I can be 100% sure I washed off everything. I went to see a Urologist doctor this week.

Avatar n tn Then I panicked and ran to the nearest pharmacy and and took 1g of Zithromax, 400mg of Cefixime and 2x500g of Ciprofloxacin. I am planning to take additionally 500mg of Ciprofloxacin 2x daily. My questions are now 1) Are these treatments effective so soon after potential exposure or do I have to wait and see if I get symptoms and then repeat the treatment? 2) Will these treatments generally cure Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and Syphills or do I need others?
Avatar n tn I belong to a support group for teachers and parents of children suffering from anxiety. Many of the children take medication - including Celexa. About four children in our group are on this medication (all in conjuction with intervention and/or therapy). For these children, this "drug" seems to work the best with the fewest side effects. Our child takes Celexa - before that Prozac and Effexor. Celexa is the best one for her - so far.
