Avatar f tn Hello! Which sleeping pill is stronger, Belsomra or Rozerem? I take 2 tablets of Belsomra at night for 20 mg plus 2 tablets of Donormil. Should I try Rozerem?
Avatar f tn Yes but there is the issue of long term side effects. As a person with advanced tardive dyskinesia I am vividly aware of this. I have a friend whose mother has Parkinson's and she is being given Seroquel as a sleeping pill and I was told even by my psychiatrist that its "the wrong medication".
Avatar m tn One good option you could ask your psychiatrist about is the medication Rozerem which works to adjust the sleep cycle and is safe and non addictive. There are other options as well but that's one worth asking about. Also it might be a simple matter of timing. If a medication keeps you awake at night you could ask your psychiatrist if you could take it earlier in the day and see if that helps. Discuss all this with them and see what they say.
603015 tn?1329862973 I have been on sleeping pills since sept when I had not been sleeping properly for a very long time ( pre diagnosis ) I then went hypomanic on antidepressents and came off the AD quickly but continued to take the sleeping pills, I then went into a mixed state and was told to keep taking the sleeping pills until the other meds for BP kicked in, I am 5 weeks on from starting the BP Meds but am still a little tired most of the day but then seem to come alive at night and still have to take the slee
Avatar m tn Has anyone tried taking rozerem to help sleep when tapering? I tried Abien a few years ago and it wired me all night. Last night, I took ,1 clonidine and 2 soma and I just knew that would put me to sleep and all it did was give me a big buzz and i was wired for a few hours. I know I just need some sleep!
1021912 tn?1251693068 Klonopin isn't a sleeping pill, it's an anti-anxiety medication. It's also not one to quit abruptly. It has to be tapered down slowly under the care of a psychiatrist. There are many things you can take for sleep, but if you don't solve the underlying reason for why you're so anxious at bedtime, you'll eventually get used to any of them. Are you in talk therapy to figure this out? And what dose of melatonin were you on? The best dose for you would probably be .5 mg.
736314 tn?1276884623 Lunesta is non addictive but being related to benzodiazepenes after a while it can lose its effectiveness. You could also ask about Rozerem which being related to melatonin adjusts the sleep cycle and has less of a potential to loss effectiveness over time. And also there are some general books and ideas on sleep hygeine that can help you establish regular sleeping habits that will help as well.
Avatar m tn How effective is Zopiclone as a sleeping aid?Is it effective?.
Avatar f tn Trazodone or Rozerem but, in the end, none of them are a solution to insomnia because they don;t work well in the short term and stop working in the long-term. CBT is the only permanent, effective solution. Dr. Jacobs www.cbtforinsomnia.
Avatar n tn Can anyone let me know if Rozerem 8mg (RX sleep aid) and Prozac 20 mg (antidepressant) are safe to take with methadone (15mg daily) I am detoxing after 15 years on MMT and have slowly "tapered" my dose from 60mg daily to 15mg daily. I am having some insomnia & depression/antiety issues related to my husband being on the waiting list for a liver transplant. Just want to make sure i'm not gonna "croak" if I take the other meds.
Avatar f tn Nurse presc. Rozerem for my sleep problem. Taking xanax 4 times daily .25mg. Has anyone taken this sleep aid with success or was it bad? Any replies good or bad PLEASE! She pres.
Avatar m tn If that is no longer effective you could ask your psychiatrist about other available options one of which is Rozerem an FDA approved medication that works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle.
741315 tn?1232458427 Ambien is not meant for everyday use as a sleeping aide as it can be addictive. Lunesta or Rozerem are two better choices. Rozerem works in the same manner as Melatonin and actually adjusts the sleep cycle. Those are some ideas to speak to your psychiatrist about.
Avatar m tn It has so many more negative potential side effects than any other sleeping pill- the benefits are in no way worth the risks. I have bipolar/panic disorder and every time I took seroquel I had a massive panic attack, ate a lot, then slept for 12+ hours. The longest I have ever slept on seroquel is 72 hours straight... it will knock you out. It also makes you feel sluggish and lethargic throughout the day... not even my Dexedrine helped.
994257 tn?1266242692 Does anyone who takes Lamictal have problems sleeping??? I dream all night long and never feel well rested. I am constantly tired becasue of it. i can dream wake up then immediately fall back into the dream I was having. I am tired of looking like death because I have dark circles under my eyes. Any thoughts on the matter?
737831 tn?1232095919 html I would speak to a psychiatrist about getting medications adjusted in general. If you still have a sleeping problem, after that, Lunesta and Rozerem are good options. Rozerem works in the same exact manner as melatonin and actually adjusts the sleep cycle and is non addictive. Those are two worth inquiring about, Rozerem especially. But sometimes untreated bipolar or depression causes insomnia on its own so have that issue addressed first.
Avatar n tn 30pm sinemet uses low dosage because it looks like impact her falling into sleep even with Rozerem. She used to be able to fall into sleep quickly when took 25/100, but cannot for increased dosage). The strangest is motion: In morning, right after get up but BEFORE sinemet, her walking is steady, no difficult stepping out, speed is slow but ok, no sign of dyskinesia (or not noticeable) Around 1.
Avatar m tn There are safer sleeping medications such as Lunesta and Rozerem. My concern about Trazadone is the fact that it can cause tardive dyskinesia. If you are not taking it for depression but as a sleep aid you might want to ask your psychiatrist about the two I mentioned. This link is from a psychiatric journal and lists all known medications that can cause tardive dyskinesia and Trazadone is clearly listed as one.
439168 tn?1307931740 The problem that I am having now is when the mood stablizer was taken away (due to intolerance to the medication), I have not been sleeping. I took ambien in the past, but I hallucinated with it. Does anyone know of any mood stabilizers that they are tolerating well? And sleeping medications or remedies that work for them? I have to be careful if the side effects effect the heart because I have issues there....I can't take anything that will increase my heartrate. Thanks!
Avatar n tn She also has a sleep disorder that we finally saw a pediatric sleep specialist for-- now she uses a blue spectrum light every morning. Occasionally, we use Rozerem 8mg (prescribed by the peds sleep specialist) --but only occasionally when we are unable to do her light therapy. Is there any connection between sleep disorders & early adrenarche? And is this adrenarche when it is only her axillary area involved?
Avatar f tn Is it safe to take a sleeping pill while pregnant?!
Avatar f tn Self-pay patients, a monthly (#30) day supply costs $135.00. Three years ago, Ambien cost $3.00 per pill. A very well know insurance company would cover Ambien, but only for a 15-day supply. When I called the insurance company to inquire why they did not pay for a 1-month supple (#30 tablets) which my physician had written for, they told me that there's was a new trend regarding peoples' sleep patterns; in that, people are only going to sleep every other day. Real comical....NOT!
Avatar m tn I actually got my primary physician to prescribe it to me for sleeping & my directions were as needed. I've ALWAYS had sleep problems. I could wake up at 7 am & not go to sleep that night til 4 am. & still wake up the same time again. Granted if I do that a couple days in a row it would catch up with me.
1088646 tn?1256949923 Ambien is generally meant for short term use. The FDA approved sleep aide Rozerem works exactly like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle and is safe and non addictive and can be taken every day. You could ask your psychiatrist about that.
Avatar m tn t induce at night but feel sleepy at day time thus disturbing my working days.I want to start with Rozerem for inducing sleep.I wish to take this medication for a month or two and discontinue and get my sleep naturally as usual. Can the sleep disorder rebound after discontinuation?
