Common Questions and Answers about Rozerem lethal dose

rozerem

Avatar m tn Has anyone tried taking rozerem to help sleep when tapering? I tried Abien a few years ago and it wired me all night. Last night, I took ,1 clonidine and 2 soma and I just knew that would put me to sleep and all it did was give me a big buzz and i was wired for a few hours. I know I just need some sleep!
603015 tn?1329862973 I believe according to one post I saw melatonin is not available in Canada anymore because it is unsafe. Rozerem however, is an FDA approved medication. I was informed by my psychopharmocologist that Rozerem is completely non addictive and works differently from all other known sleep aides though you could look at the medication website and ask your own psychiatrist to confirm.
Avatar f tn Hello! Can I take Belsomra and Rozerem together if the effect of one drug is not enough?
Avatar f tn Hello! Which sleeping pill is stronger, Belsomra or Rozerem? I take 2 tablets of Belsomra at night for 20 mg plus 2 tablets of Donormil. Should I try Rozerem?
Avatar n tn Can anyone let me know if Rozerem 8mg (RX sleep aid) and Prozac 20 mg (antidepressant) are safe to take with methadone (15mg daily) I am detoxing after 15 years on MMT and have slowly "tapered" my dose from 60mg daily to 15mg daily. I am having some insomnia & depression/antiety issues related to my husband being on the waiting list for a liver transplant. Just want to make sure i'm not gonna "croak" if I take the other meds.
Avatar n tn 30pm sinemet uses low dosage because it looks like impact her falling into sleep even with Rozerem. She used to be able to fall into sleep quickly when took 25/100, but cannot for increased dosage). The strangest is motion: In morning, right after get up but BEFORE sinemet, her walking is steady, no difficult stepping out, speed is slow but ok, no sign of dyskinesia (or not noticeable) Around 1.
Avatar f tn Nurse presc. Rozerem for my sleep problem. Taking xanax 4 times daily .25mg. Has anyone taken this sleep aid with success or was it bad? Any replies good or bad PLEASE! She pres.
Avatar f tn However, Italian researchers have found that the LD50 (the lethal dose at which half of the animals die) of glucosamine sulfate is 8000 mg/kg. In humans this would be equivalent to ingesting over 500,000 mg at one time or 1,000 pills each containing 500 mg. I hope this is useful... I got the idea from the site that max safe dose is 1500mg, and your dog had twice that much. You may want to see the vet anyway, even tho it says in the previous paragraph that a lethal dose is 8000mg.
Avatar f tn I like to know as much as I can about my meds. I know the lethal dose of lithium is about 5gs or 5000mgs which is about 5 times what I am prescribed. I also have looked up the symptoms of lithium toxicity (not fun). But I can't seem to fine anywhere how long after a lethal amount or a small overdose (such as 1 accidental extra dose) on top of toxicity symptoms would start to show or when death would take place. So my question is when would symptoms begin to show and when would death occur.
Avatar n tn She also has a sleep disorder that we finally saw a pediatric sleep specialist for-- now she uses a blue spectrum light every morning. Occasionally, we use Rozerem 8mg (prescribed by the peds sleep specialist) --but only occasionally when we are unable to do her light therapy. Is there any connection between sleep disorders & early adrenarche? And is this adrenarche when it is only her axillary area involved?
5764859 tn?1400881756 Low dose trazodone is popular, as is low dose seroquel (<100 mg). Trazodone at higher doses is an older antidepressant, and seroquel at higher doses is an atypical antipsychotic, but they are both just sedating at low doses and not addicting.
Avatar m tn There are safer sleeping medications such as Lunesta and Rozerem. My concern about Trazadone is the fact that it can cause tardive dyskinesia. If you are not taking it for depression but as a sleep aid you might want to ask your psychiatrist about the two I mentioned. This link is from a psychiatric journal and lists all known medications that can cause tardive dyskinesia and Trazadone is clearly listed as one.
Avatar f tn What is the lethal dose of aripiprazole, quetiapine and lamotrigine? Mix of them.
Avatar m tn can i take 4mg xanax at asingle dose ? my dr didnt prescribe the 4mg at once but i had severe insomnia so i took them in a single dose is this dangerous?
Avatar m tn t induce at night but feel sleepy at day time thus disturbing my working days.I want to start with Rozerem for inducing sleep.I wish to take this medication for a month or two and discontinue and get my sleep naturally as usual. Can the sleep disorder rebound after discontinuation? Avatar n tn I found this, whic seems to be relevant: "Be very careful, the official "lethal dose" for methadone is 25mg for a non-tolerant adult. This means as little as 25mg of methadone has been known to kill adults with no tolerance to opiates. This is a surprisingly low lethal dosage for many people, but I assure you it is true. Methadone has a very long half-life, unlike heroin, which is a short-acting opiate.
Avatar m tn I actually got my primary physician to prescribe it to me for sleeping & my directions were as needed. I've ALWAYS had sleep problems. I could wake up at 7 am & not go to sleep that night til 4 am. & still wake up the same time again. Granted if I do that a couple days in a row it would catch up with me.
951587 tn?1249227148 that is an extremely high dose...you should know that barbiturate tolerance is very different than tolerance to other things. you need more and more but the lethal dose remains the same...so if 1gm is the lethal dosage, it won't change just because you've built a tolerance to the effects of it. i would find a taper plan immediately. you are very close to that lethal dose mark. barbiturates are so rare that most people don't understand the addiction.
Avatar m tn One good option you could ask your psychiatrist about is the medication Rozerem which works to adjust the sleep cycle and is safe and non addictive. There are other options as well but that's one worth asking about. Also it might be a simple matter of timing. If a medication keeps you awake at night you could ask your psychiatrist if you could take it earlier in the day and see if that helps. Discuss all this with them and see what they say.
Avatar m tn It appears to be similar in efficacy and like Ambien is meant for short term use only. Unless you've tried it Rozerem is one alternative that unlike Ambien or the medication you mentioned or Lunesta does not have a potential for a person to build up a tolerance to it and is an FDA approved medication that works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle. You could ask your psychiatrist about that.
Avatar m tn The max dose of acetaminophen is 4 Gm/day (4000 mg). The lethal dost is considered to be 6-10 Gm. Even the 4 Gm per day dose can cause liver damage over an extended period of time.
Avatar n tn I realize what you are saying. I am bi-polar and used to be on Zyprexa. When I was on it I had no trouble sleeping. But now I do not sleep well at all. A psychiatrist friend of mine suggested the possibility of taking 1 mg of Zyprexa. However, he cautioned that I should talk to my regular psychiatrist about this. This is why I just wanted to get feedback if anyone has tried this before.
