On the other hand, there have been people on this forum who found this the best anti-anxiety drug they ever took and who gained no weight at all on it, so everything depends on the person.
Hello! Which sleeping pill is stronger, Belsomra or Rozerem? I take 2 tablets of Belsomra at night for 20 mg plus 2 tablets of Donormil. Should I try Rozerem?
t induce at night but feel sleepy at day time thus disturbing my working days.I want to start with Rozerem for inducing sleep.I wish to take this medication for a month or two and discontinue and get my sleep naturally as usual.Can the sleep disorder rebound after discontinuation? I've also been taking sertraline since many years,could these two drugs interact,if yes what are the effects?
It appears to be similar in efficacy and like Ambien is meant for short term use only. Unless you've tried it Rozerem is one alternative that unlike Ambien or the medication you mentioned or Lunesta does not have a potential for a person to build up a tolerance to it and is an FDA approved medication that works like melatonin to adjust the sleep cycle. You could ask your psychiatrist about that.
One good option you could ask your psychiatrist about is the medication Rozerem which works to adjust the sleep cycle and is safe and non addictive. There are other options as well but that's one worth asking about. Also it might be a simple matter of timing. If a medication keeps you awake at night you could ask your psychiatrist if you could take it earlier in the day and see if that helps. Discuss all this with them and see what they say.
ve been through tons of medications for symptoms, but have found Lexapro and welbutrin together to be the most helpful. Even though this combo helps, I know there is so much room for improvement because I am still so depressed.

I have chronic insomnia amid anxiety disorder. Can I use Rozerem at a dosage of 16 mg if 8 mg will not help?
Lunesta and Rozerem are known sleep aides that are safe and effective and can be taken every day especially Rozerem which is derived from Melatonin and helps regulate the sleep cycle. As for anti-psychotic use they are finding that Zofran is effective for psychosis from Parkinsons' and it will not worsen Parkinsons's or create tardive dyskinesia but is actually helpful on it in studies.
There are safer sleeping medications such as Lunesta and Rozerem. My concern about Trazadone is the fact that it can cause tardive dyskinesia. If you are not taking it for depression but as a sleep aid you might want to ask your psychiatrist about the two I mentioned. This link is from a psychiatric journal and lists all known medications that can cause tardive dyskinesia and Trazadone is clearly listed as one.
Can anyone let me know if Rozerem 8mg (RX sleep aid) and Prozac 20 mg (antidepressant) are safe to take with methadone (15mg daily) I am detoxing after 15 years on MMT and have slowly "tapered" my dose from 60mg daily to 15mg daily. I am having some insomnia & depression/antiety issues related to my husband being on the waiting list for a liver transplant. Just want to make sure i'm not gonna "croak" if I take the other meds.
Are you being prescribed both? If you aren't, you shouldn't take meds you aren't prescribed. Even if they can be safely taken together, there may be something about one of them that harms you because of another condition you have.
Belsomra comes in different doses. Maybe your doctor can increase the dose if the current one you take isn't working for you. Your doctor should know that a medication isn't working as expected, too.
Best to ask your doc this question, as that person has examined you and knows your full med history. Suggest continuing to work on your anxiety disorder and as you make progress expect your sleep to improve. Ask also about using a CBT sleep training program as a permanent, sustainable, and substance-free solution.
I did finally get my own sleep adjusted as mood stabilizers were. However, Rozerem being clinically related to melatonin is the safer of the two choices as it works in the same manner but is FDA approved. It is non addictive because it is not related to a benzo (which Lunesta is) but for me it did appear to wear off over time. That much is true. I had it prescribed to take "as needed" but don't have to anymore.
Hi. 5'10" Gent, and brand spankin newbie to this site. i just turned 56 in April. In my journal August. 12, 2013, I recorded wgt. 247.5 lb, BP 157/101, severe depression & anxiety with heaart palpitations and mid-nightime panic attacks. Also using CPAP setting of 14cm for severe sleep apnea, and suffered almost daily migraines. Plus my triglicerides were, as my dr put it, "through the roof!
I tried the Rozerem and Melatonin and they did nothing for me. I have not however tried the Lunesta. I will ask my doctor about that one.
I have even been put on Symbytax (sp) in order to try and help me gain weight. I gained 4lbs, but that was it. I looked that one up and it is for severe bipolar disorder. I am not even diagnosed with depression.
Why are doctors so quick into anti-depressants for other symptoms?
I guess I will just have to live with the insomnia.

Thank you for the reply. My mom's dyskinesia now is reduced at least 90% after Sinemet reduced. She is currently in dosage of 25/150, 25/150, 25/100, and around 0.16 requip before sleep together with Rozerem 8mg and Zyprexa 1.25 mg. (I forgot to mention Zyprexa in previous post)
But strangest thing is she becomes much more difficulty in falling and staying asleep. In theory, if the dyskinesia/teeth grinding went away, she should feel much better and more easier to get into sleep.
Just go read all the comments of people that have taken the drug. That is all I'm going to say. It is not the fine print but the life print that matters to me.
