Rozerem for insomnia

Common Questions and Answers about Rozerem for insomnia

rozerem

Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thank you for your question. Questions regarding medication are best discussed with your doctor as they prescribe the medication and know your particular situation. What is your specific issue with insomnia? Rozerem seems to be best used for those who don't fall asleep easily. Is that your situation? It works on melatonin and is not supposed to be habit forming which is a great benefit. https://www.medicinenet.com/rozerem/article.
Avatar f tn Isn't Rozerem very closely related to melatonin? I've tried melatonin and valerian for insomnia. Neither with much success. Surely there are other alternatives besides trazadone and rozerem. I would like to know what they are.
Avatar f tn My doctor prescribed trazodone 100mg (I think it said mg) for my insomnia that I have suffered with for the last 15 years due to a thyroid problem I had years ago. I took it for the first time last night, but I did not fall asleep or even come close to falling asleep. I took it at 8:30pm and went to bed at 9pm, but ended up getting out of bed at 10pm because I could not sleep. The only difference I feel is a huge headache this morning.
Avatar f tn I have chronic insomnia amid anxiety disorder. Can I use Rozerem at a dosage of 16 mg if 8 mg will not help?
Avatar f tn chronic insomnia with anxiety disorder. I take escitalopram in the morning. Can Rozerem replace Zaleplon?
Avatar f tn My doctor has recommended Seroquel for my insomnia. Since i am a parkinsons patient, I was wondering if this ,might make my parkinsons worse?
Avatar n tn Can anyone let me know if Rozerem 8mg (RX sleep aid) and Prozac 20 mg (antidepressant) are safe to take with methadone (15mg daily) I am detoxing after 15 years on MMT and have slowly "tapered" my dose from 60mg daily to 15mg daily. I am having some insomnia & depression/antiety issues related to my husband being on the waiting list for a liver transplant. Just want to make sure i'm not gonna "croak" if I take the other meds.
Avatar f tn Why do doctors tell us things are not addictive but then you read online that everyone is struggling with being addicted to them? I was prescribed Rozerem and given the generic. I'm terrified to take it. It is to help me sleep but is also a anti-depressant. I just don't understand. The pharmacist even said it is not addictive.
1310435 tn?1273598077 Hi, katiefaye. Have you spoken to your doctor about this? I have sleep apnea as well as insomnia. I've taken Melatonin (an over the counter item), Rozerem (works well, and is a prescription item), and now I'm taking Tofranil(orescription) to help with my chronic headaches AND insomnia. There is also a brand of antihistamine that helps with sleep, too. Your best bet, again, is to speak with your doctor. Good luck.
Avatar f tn These drugs are believed to possess similar abuse potentials. Ramelteon (Rozerem), works differently in the body to treat insomnia. It is not considered to be a controlled substance. Zolpidem (Ambien) and eszopiclone (Lunesta) have been shown to reduce the time until sleep occurs and increase total sleep time. The sleep induced by them resembles natural sleep. Ramelteon (Rozerem) has shown to reduce the time until sleep occurs.
Avatar n tn Hi, My name is Kevin. i have been suffering insomnia for about 2 years. Recently, i found that the reason i can't sleep is because i was worrying about not able to sleep.Sometime if i don't want to sleep, i slept without a problem. When i want to sleep i could never sleep quickly. i am constantly thinking about very trivial things. After i learned the cause of my insomnia, i tried to relax into sleep, however, sometime i felt sleep quickly.
741315 tn?1232458427 because even with my cocktail i still have moodswings like crazy, insomnia and these crying episodes where i just cant stop. thank you so much for respondign because i really do not have anyone to talk to about this- who isnt judgmental and tell me its all in my head...
Avatar f tn In my situation, i do not think it will ever change for me. My doctor is amazed i can function, but like i said after 13 years. It is not rare for sleep aids to not affect people, everyone is different. In my case nothing affects me.
5764859 tn?1400881756 Increasing remeron from 15mg to 30mg is less effective for insomnia, which I have done on my own since I thought by doing so would help me sleep since the 15mg isn't, well turns out the 30mg isn't even giving me a yawn....cranked. What can I ask my Dr to help me sleep without it being something addicting which I don't want and he wouldn't consider but Im desperate here, I need to sleep.
726698 tn?1249781717 My doc put me on 50 mg of Trazodone a week ago for insomnia, Its not doing ****, I took one at 10pm now its going on 2:30am, same story all week, How long does it take for this to work? I don't feel anything from it. Ive tried Ambien too, that did nothing Id just wake up 2 hours after taking it , then be ready for the sun to come up, so frustrating. I was just wondering if anyone else had this problem first starting out, did it start working eventually???
Avatar m tn Same here, I tried it once before and it worked great except for a buzz in the morning for an hour
1071525 tn?1255392574 i have depression and started meds in 2004. i have been in the hospital for it twice. i now have new problems that my psychiatrist says it is ADD . but i dont know if it is that simple? if someone can help me to know what to do it would be great. i have insomnia treated with trazodone and i fall asleep during the day. i always get bad headaches at the same time of the day. i twitch and see things out of the corners of my eyes that aren't there.
Avatar n tn My 6 1/2 year old girl has quite a patch of longer, darker axillary hair. Doesn't have pubic hair or breast development... She has always been tall for her age--but both parents are too (5'10" & 6'3"). I didn't really link this until reading up a bit, but she started having strong sweat odor at about 5 y.o. She also has a sleep disorder that we finally saw a pediatric sleep specialist for-- now she uses a blue spectrum light every morning.
Avatar n tn Not to much to go on from what you write, but I can say, SUPPORT SUPPORT SUPPORT! for her, As for yourself Educate yourself, understanding depression is a key, look it up, lots of good sites and even a room here for depression.
Avatar m tn these are the medications that i take now.....150 milligrams of trazadone at bedtime, 120 milligrams of geodon at bedtime, 1milligram 3 times a day of lorazapam and 150 milligrams of wellbutrin 2 times a day.
564491 tn?1320360393 I have sleep apnea, insomnia, Diabetes Type II, hypertension, chronic headaches/migraines, hypothroidism, dysthymia, genralized anxiety disorder, elevated cholesterol (all controlled with medication). I take Rozerem for the insomnia. Works a bit. I use a C-PAP machine for the sleep apnea, but it doesn't seem to help my migraines and chronic headaches as I was hoping it would do. I am at the end of my rope, as it seems nothing and noone can help me.

Avatar f tn If its from the bipolar they would adjust your treatment but if its just general insomnia you could ask about Rozerem an FDA approved sleep aide which adjusts the sleep cycle and is safe and non addictive, among other options.
Avatar m tn t induce at night but feel sleepy at day time thus disturbing my working days.I want to start with Rozerem for inducing sleep.I wish to take this medication for a month or two and discontinue and get my sleep naturally as usual. Can the sleep disorder rebound after discontinuation? I've also been taking sertraline since many years, could these two drugs interact,if yes what are the effects?
Avatar m tn www.discountpharmacy.
1673169 tn?1316541930 I found it worked right away for me. You shouldn't take it every night though because it can then affect your own bodies ability to create melatonin. I just take it when I know I need a good nights sleep. You may also want to ask about something like seroquel to help you sleep.
Avatar n tn yeah rozerem did nothing for me .I have found the best thing to do is not take anything let it run it course and get back on your normal sleep pattern.
