ropinirole for restless leg syndrome

I am unable to walk for long periods of time, the pain is not lessening even though i am currently taking myropex on a daily basis. I have had testing for restless leg syndrome, arthritis, had an mri, etc and am tired of not being able to get any relief from this because no one knows whats wrong. This has been ongoing for over 10 years and is progressively getting worse to the point I had to quit my job because I was not able to function normally. Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone have restless leg syndrome and if so what do doctors recommend to take so you can sleep? No matter what position I am in it hurts which it makes it hard for me to sleep I am so tired so any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi there. There is no known cure for restless leg syndrome. Treatment is aimed at stress relieving of muscles like warm baths, gentle stretching exercises and massage. lowdoses of pramipexole and ropinirole can be effective. For disturbed sleep, you may be give medicines like gabapentin, pregabalin, clonazepam. Iron supplements for iron deficiency and low dose narcotics can be tries. Take care.

Most of the time they tell you to take it at night before bedtime for restless leg syndrome but since I have the same problem you do I was told 2x daily. The only side effect I have noticed is nausea but that hasn't happened in a while, though it was a problem when I 1st started it ( I took a dramamine about 3omin before & that helped too). Did you ask your neuro if the freezing feeling comes from your medication. Maybe even look into restless leg syndrome..(RLS). ...I was dx with RLS after feeling like my legs had a mind of their own....ropinirole 2x a day.

I've been dealing with a form of dysautonomia since 2006, with symptoms that are ringing in the ears, Raynaud's, insomnia, restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea, a sensation of choking at times,but most troubling a sensation of being drunk/ dizzy...I have had high blood pressure in the past which resolved on its own. Over the past couple years I developed heart palpitations, fluttering,flip flopping etc...the past 8 months or so..

been on 100mgs over a year now.. 50 mgs 2x a day..i use it for my restless leg syndrome..i was prescribed a new one ( ropinirole) I need to stop this tram. can I cold turkey it or a taper? I wouldn't see how I could taper it, its only 50 mgs tabs.. have you experienced this? thanks!!

Have had Restless Syndrome for 25+ years. Had hyperactive thyroid nodules and this summer had RAI treatment to shut down the nodule. Recent blood test shows that my actual thyroid is also starting to shut down and my risk of being hypothyroid is very high. I read that Hypothyroid disease can cause Restless Leg Syndrome. Since I already have RLS, will I have to look forward to an increase in the severity of my RLS??? I am very worried.

Hi, Not sure about everyone else but I know that for me the restless legs is one of the worst symptoms. I told my doctor that I was struggling and he prescribed me Ropinirole tablets, one to take before bedtime. I took one last night and, fingers crossed, it seemed to work. Most of you are probably aware of this but for those who aren't, it might be worth a try.

I have severe Restless leg Syndrome. I have been on Mirapex for about 6 years now, and never had a problem. I am unemployed now, and do not have any health insurance. My doctor has been great to give me samples, however; they are out of them right now. My doctor tried giving me clonazepam 1 mg 2 nights ago, I walked the floors and tossed and turned all night. I called my doctor, and she said to increase my clonazepam to 2mg before bed.

Besides Mirapex, the other medications that are approved to treat Restless Legs Syndrome are Neurontin, Requip and Neupro. I recommend speaking to your doctor about these medications to see if one may be appropriate for you.

hallucinations is reported but in people with parkinson’s taking requip, rarely in people taking it for restless leg syndrome like your dad and more commonly in elderly taking requip in combination with levodopa. so, your dad needs to be examined for Parkinson’s disease since he is having hallucination with this drug. He may need to be administered therapy for parkinson’s disease, levo dopa, carbidopa etc. Requip will need revision or withdrawal. Hope this helps. Take care.

Naturally, I have been told that it is probably all in my imagination (NOT!!). I am on low doese of ropinirole for restless leg syndrome and lorazepam at bedtime to help me cope with the claustrophobia of a CPAP mask, and no other regular medication. I am 64 and female and overweight.

I told my doctor and he prescribed it for me and it works wonders! I take it about 2-3 hours before I go to bed. I have restless leg real bad. I used to control it with a glass ofmilk and a banana every night but it progressed beyond that. Try it!

Does anyone on here have Restless Leg Syndrome and are they being treated for it? and could you please list your symptoms, what it feels like. I don't believe that I have it, but my doctor put me on Klonopin to see if that helps. What I have our leg aches, ankle aches, basically all day long but they are worse after exercise and at night. They ache so much, they drive me crazy. But I don't get that creepy crawly feeling everyone talks about.

Then their patients could just click Email This on their trackers and send it to their doctors for review. We could easily add Restless Legs as a symptom and Mirapex as a treatment to the Sleep Tracker. Would that work for you?

I just found I'm pregnant. I am 5 weeks. I have restless leg syndrome and the doctor wants me to stop taking my mirapex. I tried but ended up taking a half a pill (doctor said this is ok to try to wean myself off). Is there anything I can take for it so I can sleep?!?!

Hi, restless leg syndrome (RLS) can be treated by underlying illness, if known. For example, a search for iron deficiency by blood testing to reveal underlying iron deficiency anemia by supplying iron. Elimination of caffeine, smoking and alcohol can be very helpful. Getting better sleep and exercise can help some persons affected by restless legs. Drugs include carbidopa-levodopa, opioids , tramadol for intermittent symptoms, carbamazepine, clonazepam, diazepam, triazolam, and clonidine.
