Avatar m tn I was recently involved in an accident on November 16 in which I fell unconscious and hit my head which caused trauma to my head, and at that time I also had a really bad fever. I stayed in the hospital for a week and the doctor diagnosed me with migraines because during the stay I had headaches the whole time. Since then my headaches got worse and worse and now I'm to the point that I cannot even attend spring semester at my college.
Avatar m tn Well my story is that i just hit 25 years old. And since I was 17 i have been getting a extreme pain only in the back of my head if i lay down on my back with my back of head on not a soft surface i get a headache which turns into bad migrane. If i bounce around i get a headache it's only ever been in the back of my head and when it gets bad like if i dont take some type of tylenol or Advil right away it gets bad.
Avatar f tn By way of background I have chronic daily headaches as well as migraines with aura, and have had those since I was 14 (I’m 32 now). I take rizatriptan for the migraines and Tylenol and ibuprofen for the daily headache.
Avatar f tn I have a history of horrible migraines since my early teens and they just recently began. It's been exactly a week since I've had this particular migraine and since tylenol is the only safe thing I can take, I am in agony!! I'm used to taking excedrin and rizatriptan but neither of those are safe for the baby. I've tried sleeping, cold rags on my neck and forehead, head rubs, everything! And I just can't get rid of if! I'm to the point where I want to go to the e.
Avatar f tn I had cataract removal surgery over a year ago with premium bifocal implants via laser. I've had occasional migraines since then but has come to daily occurrences since June 2022 (most of pain is behind left eye). I've seen my ophthalmologist twice since surgery and she says I have 20/20 vision with nothing wrong. I'm currently seeing a neurologist and he has prescribed Nortriptyline for preventative (which hasn't helped) and Rizatriptan to get rid of migraine.
Avatar n tn I'm 31 and female w/a 13 year history of Lupus. I was diagnosed w/CNS lupus 9 years ago. A year ago in june following abdominal surgery I got the worst headache I've ever had. I was hospitalized for 9 days. The only thing that helped the headaches a little was Decadron. The headaches continued for 7 months. In Jan of 2008 my lupus flared and I was gived IV"d solumedrol 6 grams. My headache went 100% away. I also started cytoxan chemotherapy.
Avatar f tn After taking 100mg of Imitrex for my migraines, within 3 hours after I usually feel all of a sudden kind of "out of it". I am just really "slow" feeling and neutral in personality unlike usual. Is this typical? Why does it do this?
Avatar n tn The last 2 weeks or so my migraines have gotten more frequent and less apt to respond to Rizatriptan. I am wondering if I am just having a bad week or if the accutane is to blame.
Avatar f tn He prescribes rizatriptan along with naproxen and a steroid. In this whole combination of pills I have to say that a combination of the steroid and rizatriptan was the only thing that made it more or less bearable to the point where I was even able to go for a run and workout. He told me to only take no more than 4 doses of the steroid and once I was done my pain was back to its usual self.
Avatar n tn I too suffer from frequent sever migraines and have tried every medicine in the book with no permanent results. Recently my roommate's mom told me about peppermint oil! It is a godsend!!!!! When i get the headache i just rub some peppermint oil on my forehead and my neck and within minutes it's gone! I can understand if you're skeptical about it, I was too but it's worth a shot. It can be expensive to get but try looking on this site. I got it for 10$ http://www.herbalremedies.
Avatar f tn I have been getting these bruises on my arm in places where its hard to bump into something. The bruising has been happening for about 2 going on 3 years now. I have also been getting more headaches and getting sick way more often than I use to. About 2 years ago, I was also diagnosed with a heart murmur. I get very tired easily and feel worn out almost every day. I have been tested for iron and B12 deficiency, and its not that.
Avatar m tn And these may occur together also depending on a variety of factors. Triptans constrict blood vessels in the brain and relieve swelling and is used to effectively and quickly relieve headache pain, sensitivity to light and noise, and nausea and vomiting associated with migraines. They are indicated for moderate to severe headaches. Migraine management, however, may vary from one person to another. And what works for one may not work for another.
Avatar n tn Hi, I'm a 35 year old woman and I've been suffering from vertigo and dizziness for about 8 months now with tinnitus and hearing loss in my left ear. (I've had these symptoms on and off for about 10 years). Every doctor I've seen has mentioned Menieres but now my ENT consultant has said it's low down on the list and has now referred me to a neurologist and for an MRI. I'm terrified that there is something seriously wrong with me.
Avatar m tn I must have forgot it in a bag and the jar lid was open with black stuff leaking out. Inside the jar it was all black and looked like mold or something. I was wondering if that could be the cause of my problems!? I didnt eat the spoiled food obviously but can i have gotten sick by the leakage of some kind of food poison or mold into the air??? If so then what do i have to tell the doctor to get help!?
655875 tn?1295695107 Right now I'm on my 7th migraine in the last 4 weeks. I have a herniated c5-7 that is compressing on the spinal cord. I've been taking Maxalt with some of my migraines, which does help, but insurance only allows so many in a month and they are expensive. I've been also taking percocet in place of the maxalt, but it does not work as well for the headaches. Is there something I can do to try and prevent these migraines? Are there other natural alternatives rather then medication?
Avatar f tn I have been doing a lot of research about all of the medicines that could help, including off label uses. Some of them I took for other causes but noted that there were no changes in my migraines while I was on them. I have tried all of them for atleast 2 weeks each, if not more. Very few of them helped in the least, and the ones that had a good effect merely dulled the pain to a semi-tolerable level. I'm soooo frustrated with this. If any one has any ideas, I would be supremely grateful.
Avatar f tn My tube, Eustachian tube deep in my ear is dysfunctional and closes in. It causes the dizziness, ear fullness, etc. Lots of dizziness comes from ear issues. I treated it with reverse ear pops, antihistamines and pseudoephedrine (just taken a couple of times). Meneire's is another thing that can cause chronic vertigo. So what kind of pain is your mom having--- actual stomach pain or nausea.
20922415 tn?1661860103 If pregnancy occurs, progesterone is produced in the placenta, and levels remain elevated throughout the pregnancy. The combination of high estrogen and progesterone levels suppresses further ovulation during pregnancy. Progesterone also encourages the growth of milk-producing glands in the breast during pregnancy. High progesterone levels are believed to be partly responsible for symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), such as breast tenderness, feeling bloated, and mood swings.
655875 tn?1295695107 I will try and abort the headache with the ice pack before resorting to aspirin or ibuprofen. If the ice pack does not work with in 20-30 minutes, I will take either aspirin or ibuprofen. I will wait 20-40 minutes to see if that will work. If that does not work, I resort to the Maxalt. My question is, are these rebound headaches from the Maxalt? I use the Maxalt no more then once to twice a week.
Avatar f tn I just stay in bed curled up wishing I could do all the things Im doing in my head. Which in turn, just makes me depressed. So, what I am getting at here, is that when I take pain medication like Percocet or the dialudid, I can still function and it does help with the pain, doesn't make it go away completely, but manageable. the doctors I see will not prescribe this type of medications to me on a regular basis due to they state it will cause rebound headaches....
Avatar f tn i am 29 yrs old and had my first migraine ever in Feb and another almost exactly 1 month later in March. Both times with the aura, bright spot in my vision for approx 20-30 minutes, tingling/numbness in finger tips and hands, slurred speech, nausea, then headache comes within an hour and I feel wiped out the rest of the day and the next day. My family and friends of course panicked and pressed me to see a doctor.
Avatar f tn the starting point of your headache sounds like it is in the right place for a cluster headache. Also, them waking you up in the night sounds like cluster headaches too. These could also be migraines though... if you wouldn't describe the pain as the worst pain imaginable (worse than child birth... similar to or worse than torture)... but you would describe the pain as severe pain or moderate to severe pain... then it could be migraine headaches.
